  • My quick run through of a tone demo of the above mentioned guitar. Honestly I personally think this is the perfect guitar for death metal. Being a huge fan of Pat O'Brien i couldn't pass the opportunity to get a guitar with similar specs to his own.

    Man, wish I saw this video before I pulled the trigger on a used Mick Thompson Jackson, excellent riff demonstration. I had basically given up on EMG's as the 60 in my old Fusion just couldn't give me the tone I was looking for. Of course, you're using a more sophisticated signal chain than I do so I'm sure that influences it as well. Great channel sir, subscribed

    • @hunter757
      @hunter757  3 роки тому

      Thank you so much. I had the mick Thomson Jackson and it was an awesome guitar so you won't be dissapointed and the Duncans in them are crazy good. The signal chain here is simple in principal of just using a line 6 hd500x into a rocktron velocity power amp and then into a cab but yeah the digital signal chain is a little more complex. Thank you for the sub. Recently repurchased this guitar so will be doing more videos imminently

      @@hunter757 Cool, looking forward to catching up on all your uploads, a lot of nice guitars on here. Your Line 6 is a much more advanced signal processor than my ME50 that's basically a bunch of BOSS pedal clones smashed into a floor unit, so it isn't very versatile. And you're right, this Jackson is heavy as shit and it still has the stock strings tuned to E standard, I can't wait to get an Ernie Ball Burly set on it and get it tuned down to C, that's why I bought it. Cheers

      @@megatop412 sorry I've only just seen this! The signal chain within the line 6 has 2 gates, I put one in before the amp so it was like eq - tubescreamer - amp then another tube screamer after the amp and a few different eqs

    • @hunter757
      @hunter757  2 роки тому +8

      Thank you very much! To be honest there is no rules on what a beginner vs an advanced player should be playing, naturally people start with cheaper gear and over time work their way up to more expensive stuff however it doesn't change anything, you could make the argument that having cheaper stuff and working with it to get the best out of it can make you a better player but it's all nuanced. If you really like something and you're serious about it I'd just go for it.

      Thank you, that's very kind. I've been playing for 19 years now, I played electric and acoustic pretty much at the same time, no major differences between them other than typical an acoustic is physically more difficult to play as you normally would use heavier strings, the neck is thicker as well as the body. Theory wise most of my stuff was either out of books but also a combination of the odd video here and there on UA-cam. Also dismantling a lot of 80s/70s pop music helped as the chord progressions, harmony and key changes were more complex. Hope that helps.

    I just ordered the Black Metal Arrow but with the fixed bridge since I plan to experiment wildly with metal in C and D dropped tunings.
    I was thinking of getting the E-II but I have always preferred the sound of Mahogany over Alder (which the ESP's and E-II's are built out of, LTD Arrows are built out of Mahogany) so I went for the LTD. I initially had reservations over the presence of only one pickup but then again, I never use the neck pickup anyway. The Arrow is by far the best and most modern and up to date take on the V design and seems to be the most comfortable in addition to looking stunning
    I love your Arrow though, it's an incredibly slick and gorgeous and the Floyd on it must be pretty awesome.

    How are the clean tones from this guitar? Cleans sound amazing in the vid, but my concern is the lack of a neck pick up limiting the type of clean tones you can get. This will be my first single pick up guitar so I'm not that familiar with it.

    • @hunter757
      @hunter757  2 роки тому

      They're very clear and bell like, naturally I pick a little closer to the middle of the body to negate some more of the treble, might just be the case of messing with your eq to fit. I have another video of me playing this guitar with a clean tone at the start on my Instagram

    Excuse my ignorance, I'm a beginner guitarist because I really play the drums. I really liked this guitar but it's possible for a guitar to have only 1 pickup, I've always seen it with 2. This is something that seems to be missing something. If anyone can explain why 1 pickup thank you.

    • @hunter757
      @hunter757  Рік тому

      Some guitars have 1, some 2, some 3, just depends on the tonal variety you want. In most common scenarios you're only ever using 1 pickup at a time anyway, unless you're experimenting with different tonal options (see my latest videos). So depends on what you're using it for, this guitar is a straight forward metal machine.

    Thoughtful playing , pretty nice but that toane is freaking horrible my friend.
    Get yourself a decent tube amp like a PRS-MT15 if you like high gain but you’re probably more a DRRI with a dirt pedal kinda guy .
    whatever you do kill the digital sound.
    You are too good of a player to be sliced into 0s & 1s
