Very cool trick you can do another variation that you can bend the card(the selection ) and let the spectator put it in the deck so you can cut to the selection easily because of the bend .
Well if you're going to do that, you might as well just have a reverse breather crimp (if you don't know what it is, how to make one than I'm sure there's youtube videos on it) that way you don't Have to use any sleights to bend their selection during performance, and you can show them the card hand it to them cause it's completely examineable due to the bend being in an indifferent card.
Got a question for you. What if you do the double lift and you hand them the deck and "their" card, and they flip it over to make sure it's their's? Wouldn't they do it out of habit? Is the top change a better thing to use to avoid them flipping over the random card before they put it in the deck?
I have been studying magic on UA-cam for quite a while now. There are about a dozen moves to do almost all tricks. The originality is the STORY that you will be using. I plan on claiming to use ghosts/spirits to help me with my tricks. They will be trying to prove that it is not a ghost, and thus distracted from the basic moves I will be using. If you work in a toy or something else as a magic wand, then you WILL be making something original, especially if all the tricks are part of a theme.

For some reason every single time I give the card to the spectator they have a weird urge to look at the card before they put it in the deck

So you can kinda do anything you like to get their card to the top, then you can do the dead cut. Is that right?
