      I had major self esteem issues as a kid and most of my bullies were girls. So I became a pick me. But I didn't openly trash women because I knew I was envious of their makeup skills, I loved wearing makeup on stage or at formal events, I didn't have the body to pull off the outfits the other girls wore yet once I had more confidence around 17/18 I wore the same sort of outfits I internally judged the other girls for.
      I think the worst I would say is I'm not like other girls, I'm a real gamer girl because I play lots of games not just COD (ironically I rarely play things other than Pokemon and a few other childhood franchises nowadays), I like wearing makeup but I don't get wearing it to school of all places (and also ironically I will spend ages doing a bold eyeshadow look and experiment with lipstick until I find the right look for absolutely no special reason or event, I just do it because it's fun even though my glasses hide a lot of it).
      Teenage me would both judge 25 year old me and admire me because I'm basically the person I was too self conscious to express. I dye my hair, I have piercings and a tattoo from my favourite anime from back then, I figured out how to do eye makeup, I wear bold lipstick colours, I dress alternatively and show off my body (reasonably) in summer, etc. I'm the person 14 year old me wishes she had the guts to be.

    I could be incredibly wrong but Pearl might be envious of her mother. Her mother is living proof that her beliefs are wrong in so many ways. She is educated and has been successful from a young age. By now she is a career woman, a married woman, and a mother of multiple kids. She has done it all and Pearl has not done much despite being in her late 20s. Pearl even goes out of her way to overlook her mother's role as a CEO and even talked about how she respects her father for not cheating on her mother as if she expected him to.

      I don't think it's strange. They unite with misogyny and will ignore a lot if their misogyny is validated. But a breaking point always comes because of course they'll find the racism too much one day. It's wild that these black men understand discrimination when it comes to racism but suddenly don't get it when it comes to misogyny. That's why, although it is not solved as a social issue, racism will always be taken more seriously than misogyny is. Because it affects men too. Which is why racist slurs are taboo and slurs against women are used in daily life, in all of pop culture.

Like, I need it in order to not be in excruciating pain and so severely anaemic I'm constantly passing out. This is after having endometriosis removed. One point made by the manosphere that I cannot understand is that if a woman has kids or if she has already been "passed around" that she cannot say that she wants to be celibate or want to wait until marriage. Like what? But then men can go through a 1000 women and still manage to find a woman to settle down with long after not only hitting the wall but it also falling on them after they hit it. At the end of the day, whether you are a virgin or you're like Brittany Renner, you are never obligated to have sex with a man and you can wait until marriage. Like this whole idea that if a woman has had sex or has kids that she cannot say no to sex or make a man wait is sick.

That said, this is one of those things where I struggle to know how to feel about it, yes, she is totally wrong, and deserves every bit of ridicule and hate she gets, but I do also feel quite sorry for her. Also Myron talking about getting married is hilariously ironic seeing as there's those leaked photographs of him with other guys, being gay isn't a problem, but calling everyone else gay when there's pictures of you snuggling with men is a problem. Legit question: Why would somebody who does not have a man, husband, partner of any kind has the nerve to be giving out relationship advice? The number one way to stay single is to get relationship advice from somebody who is single.

    • @Maialeen
      @Maialeen 2 місяці тому +28

      It's not. You don't have to be in a relationship to give relationship advice. Many people are smart and thoughtful and can see things about your relationship from the outside that you can't or refuse to see. They also have previous life experience and hopefully your best interest at heart. That doesn't apply to troubled, negative and unintelligent people like her or anyone in the (lol)manosphere.

    • @SorryImKindaShy
      @SorryImKindaShy 2 місяці тому +6

      It’s cuz when you are on the outside of something, all you can do is see what you can see. It’s different when you’re in it vs. when you can see it from that outside pov, and that can either mean you give really good relationship advice or you could give the worst advice ever. It’s a person to person kinda thing, it seems .

Says to people that have similar/same features that arent doing those harmful things that they are ugly 2. Promotes + supports ageism (as if its wrong to age or you need to do it at an acceptable rate, which stress + trauma can age a person) and 3. Supports the way people dont think attractive people are dangerous or let things slide bc someone is attractive.

    • @jewelamina
      @jewelamina  2 місяці тому +37

      I see where you're coming from, and you make some really good points. But let's face it, our society has a pretty messed up way of putting certain people on pedestals. I mean, have you seen those awful games like 'pop the balloon' or 'smash or pass'? People are literally picking apart others' body parts like they're pieces of meat. It's disgusting, if you ask me. So I can't really blame people for saying someone isn't 'conventionally attractive' - even if it's not a great thing to say.
      As for me, I've got this theory that your attitude and emotions can actually affect how you look on the outside. It's like how some people end up in physical pain because of emotional trauma, you know? I honestly believe that when you've got a lot of sadness, hate or pain bottled up inside, it shows up in your appearance somehow. That's why people talk about someone's 'aura' - it's like your inner self shining through.
      Thank you so much for watching & trust me, you have really valid points too

      Their attitude DOES effect how we view them tho, even if you're beautiful but if you're constantly bashing others then it doesn't matter, the attractiveness is gone. Your personality matters more and it reflects on your looks. For example, my old classmate is very handsome and i used to have a crush on him, that is until i found out he loves putting down other people and bullied me. The only people who hangs out with him now is those who is the same as him. Almost everyone in my school hates his guts. Now when i saw him, he just looks....decent.
      If you have a good personality, even if you doesn't look pleasing, there's still alot of people who would stay and hang out with you. Attractiveness and youth fades overtime, and when it did then what? People will start leaving. Looks only matter on attracting others to try and get close to you, but your personality is what makes them stay.

      I understand what you're saying but I don't think most people are calling her ugly over her actual looks. It's how she behaves and what she preaches. I look at her and see her as ugly cause of her personality and her views. She could have all the features I like in people perfectly in harmony, she'd still be ugly in my eyes cause of who she is as a person. And I could see another person who's a carbon copy of her lookwise, but they're nice and loving and kind, and I'd find them pretty.

    Thank you so much for educating us, queen 💗 as a decolonial feminist & latina, it saddens me to learn about all that “manosphere” community. These kinds of influencers and male-centered “coaches” are so so popular in Latin American countries, there is a famous one called Temach, which makes profit and exploits the very sexist ideas that still run rampant in our Latino culture 😢 I wish our men would change, but sadly, my culture actively promotes machismo, sexism, the oppression of women and servitude of women within the household. I don’t know what it would take for the social fabric and mentality of these men to change, but it feels so hopeless. Thank you again for such a wonderful video 🙏🏼

      @Kadinelindsayart This is the REAL STORY…Pearl’s Mom was 17 years old and her Dad was 22 years old when they met; her mother’s sister and her father’s brother were engaged BUT Pearl’s MOM GOT PREGNANT & she wanted to 🪦the pregnancy but she decided not to (it was the SUMMER before she was entering her freshman year of college); so SHE decided TO GIVE THE BABY UP FOR ADOPTION but her FATHER didn’t want to and he wanted to keep the baby who was named Greg; her Mom went off to college and completed schools THEN they got married BUT THEY DIDN’T tell their kids including Pearl until she was in her 20 that they had a child that they gave up for adoption…they did eventually meet him (Greg)…this really traumatized the family. Pearl actually brought her entire family on and they ALL revealed this including her parents BUT she removed the video after a few months.

      Ngl i doubt that, just as the top commenter said. Her mother is the living proof that her belief of "Women shouldn't vote, shouldn't have a voice, blabla" is wrong in every kind of way, her mother is literally a business woman, while ALSO being a wife and mother. She is very educated and successful from a young age, where on the other hand, Pearl haven't achieved anything even close to her despite almost at the age of 30. Having Your daughter having these bs belief must be a huge punch on the heart. Insecurity is definitely the main factor, maybe she's jealous of her mother or siblings, and seek attention.

She says everything should be about being a wife and having babies but she isn’t married and she has no children. Everything is about appearances but she shows up like she just rolled out of bed… she definitely doesn’t practice what she preaches.

    I don't think there's any question of how a woman like Pearl's mom creates a Pearl. She was groomed into a serious relationship with corporate responsibilities before the age of 20. She was probably an extremely absent mother, emotionally if not also physically, and Pearl created this idea in her mind that she would have had a happy childhood if her mom hadn't worked. Completely ignoring the fact that her father manipulated a child into marriage. I don't think that's confusing at all, we see it every single day. It's just usually the little boys who grow up to be people like Pearl instead of the girls.
