Regarding the Twist, I would not buy a Meteor Lake now that Lunar Lake is out, especially in ultrabooks, as battery life is better, RAM is faster, GPU is better, and thermals are more controlled due to the new architecture.
The Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen 13 is targeted at businesses that can get discounts with bulk orders. The £2500 price tag for this ultrabook is beyond sensible for most consumers. For half the price, you can get solid alternatives; for £2500, you can get an M4 MB Pro 14 and an M4 iPad Pro 11-inch.
Agreed! If my boss doesn't buy it for me, I'm not buying it personally. Excellent specs, especially gen 5 SSD, but it should be priced around $1,500 range.
The twist seems like a nice party trick or something at a tech convention. The X1 Carbon Gen 13 Aura edition is excellent, except for the price. If an employer is paying for it, many people will get it at work. It's definitely not something most people will casually buy at $2k+.
What a gimmick the Twist is, and how long would this last? No thanks, not for me. Even if this comes to the market, I need help seeing it useful for many people. Like many of Lenovo's "innovations," it rarely survives because people do not want excitement; they want to do what they do, be reliable, have great battery life, and have a few perks.
the twist has the same hinge design as the thinkpad x series tablets produced from 2005-2012. i wish that they had continued that series instead of replacing it with the yoga (which still has notorious hinge failure issues), and once again, im disappointed that it returned as a gimmicky thinkbook and not a thinkpad. that said, the thinkpad brand has degenerated into what is pretty much high end ideapads with a trackpoint anyhow so its not as if i had any optimism/expectations for it to begin with

@@akin242002 Hopefully, you have a nice boss that appreciates you! I agree, as a "free" company laptop, I would not say no.
The only problem with the Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen 13 right now is that you can't order it with Linux yet. I'll wait until you can before I order mine.
how would you compare this to the yoga slim 7i aura edition with the same specs ?

Is the pre-installed Windows build 23H2?

Twistbook
this is stupid, period. Lenovo lost its way, instead of focusing on improving their laptops they usually create gimmick devices
That's one of the dumbest things I've ever seen.
twist = uselees crap
