(Sorry for the Vita emulation creepypasta)
What do you think are the pros and cons between this and say, aya neo 2 / geek?
helo newdul man
🤣🤣🤣🤣 uncharted Vita lmao 🦒
I'm wondering why the Xbox 360 emulation is still struggling is it because the win 4 can't handle it or is it more because the emulator isn't quite there yet?
@@SplatterEffect_ rdr is particularly hard to emulate even on pc, there are some bugs. Other than that most 360 games play perfectly on xenia emulator
20/30 years from now, when the todays kids grow up to be adults they'll consider PS5 games to be retro and SNES/GENESIS/PS1 and so on to be ancient consoles.
wow you don't say
Ps5 and Xbox series emulators will be a thing
@@Markeplier23not necessarily, most games are on pc anyway
Yeah this has to be the last Gen of console exclusives not on PC. People finally figured out that consoles are just custom PCs. It’s all gonna be about who can package it nicely with features, convenient software/operating systems, and integrations. Games should be cross platform and built for one architecture. Of course Nintendo will never let go of their IPs until the generation of Nintendo nostalgia boomers dies off.
Bro really thought he said some deep shit
What I love the most is that it looks like a PSP, what made it even better is seeing you play PSP on it. Reminds me of the good old days.
Yeah it looks a great console a massive improvement over the win 3 imo I have an aya Neo 2021 which I absolutely love it can ply psp really well currently have: outrun 2006 coast2coast, the Simpson’s game, Daxter, silent hill shattered memories plus pc games from steam and any site I want also ps2, Dreamcast, gba, snes, ds, GameCube/wii, n64 emulators installed!
Play "good old days" today.
If you hack a PS Vita, you can emulate PSP on it
@@matthewl2260 i remember doing cfw on the psp for my friends in school. Everything set up on sd card and let's go. 10 euros for each
@@matthewl2260 Not even emulate. It runs the code natively so it's pure flawless gameplay
Actually love the form factor of this. It also has a physical keyboard as well. Might consider it in the future
Physical keyboard is not necessary and useless in my opinion.
@@sinangokceoglu9093 It may not seem necessary, but it's a huge benefit for closing crashed applications and for typing something in without losing 50% of your screen real estate and praying to the chaos gods that each touch of the screen actually picks up your fingers this time. It also helps the device to cover more bases if you need to run terminal commands or update config files quickly. One of my favorite devices of all time was my old Nokia N900 - it had a full, pop-out QWERTY keyboard with a nice, tactile feel, and I've never managed to quite replace that feeling with any other phone.
@@sinangokceoglu9093 not true. I've had issues with the Steam Deck where the on screen keyboard does not respond and i have to default to a USB Keyboard. Along with dealing with crashes and other issues mentioned above.
It’s the cost of a gaming laptop 🤯 yeah it’s definitely cool though
@@robras2850 which is still amazing. Yes the steam deck is cheaper but remember, valve can subsidise it.
This is quite a good machine and yes expensive, with what it can do, some may choose it, especially with decks taking a while to get your hands on
Wow.... I'm really blown away by this thing. The emulation is incredible. Thanks for all the effort you put into your videos!
I’d love to see an in-depth comparison between the GPD win 4, the AYANEO 2, and the oneX mini pro considering by all use the 6800u.
By the time an in-depth comparison is made between them, I imagine a new gaming handheld system being released. Crazy times we are living in, with all the abundance of choices... to be honest, if I could get hold of any of them, is pretty incredible. There is always room for complaining and improvement. I think subjectivity plays a role at these price points. You can go crazy if you get lost in the details. It's so mad, I remember when it was just either game boy or game gear, and anything else wasn't super relevant (thought any game console was relevant for sure). So mental!
@@paperoverflow my biggest complaint is the price. But for the price honestly I would just get one play all the back catalog I've missed out on and by the time I got my full and worthy use of it a new system like you mentioned will be out and then a whole new catalog of gaming opens up.
I could easily settle with just a 6800u handheld, considering it does most emulators very well. But I do hope they can get the prices down somehow. I can't imagine myself having enough disposable income to drop a thousand and some change on a Chinese handheld that could easily break and leave me with no possible warranty options. So I'll have to settle with the Steam Deck for now, and possibly the Steam Deck 2 in the near future.
@@umamifan my problem with steam deck is availability,
the reason i bought the oxp mini pro
because the local resellers shop are selling steam deck for about the same price of the oxp mini pro
@@johnpp21 Availability isn't really an issue anymore in 2022. Freight forwarders exist as a cheap alternative
The uncharted demo with drake as a hellspawn and the chapter title reading " I am telling you it was Drake" was hilarious 🤣 19:28
I was on the fence whether to wait for this or to get a Steam Deck. I got a Steam Deck eventually, and fortunately it's too good to have buyer's remorse, but I'm glad the GDP Win 4 turned out great too.
Steam deck will most likely have a longer lifespan any
The Steam Deck will certainly have a bigger community and for longer (welcome to monopolies), but the earlier versions seem to be outstripped by the performance of the Win Max 2 - and the Win 4 has the same specs but on a slightly less demanding display. But the longer the Steam Deck gets support from Valve, the longer the GPD devices will live as well, because having a hardware advantage over such a massive device as the Deck means that we will all benefit from Steam tweaks and Proton (if, like me, you use Linux on your GPD device). Even better for GPD is the fact that Valve makes money if people buy GPD devices - because they will be using Steam (and sometimes even SteamOS) for a more handheld-friendly experience.
It's nice to see a symbiotic ecosystem for once - I'm so sick of exclusive this and lawsuit that... the gamers are never put first in those conversations, and usually end up being hurt the most in the long run. Fingers crossed it stays this way.
Probably the biggest detriment to the GPD devices is that they ship with (and are generally tweaked for) Windows instead of a Linux distribution - unless you are super technical and know how to alter and disable things manually, Windows background processes are much heavier than even the heaviest (mainstream) Linux distribution, which means you have less resources free for gaming/etc. Luckily, it's not a nightmare trying to get Linux working on GPD devices - I've had my fair share of trouble with big-brand laptops that only cater for Microsoft.
The curious thing will be learning whether Valve sticks with a generic console release schedule for the Deck (i.e. nothing new for the next six or seven years) or starts dropping newer models. Valve is huge... their decision in this will probably shape the approach to development that a lot of game studios take.
@@lumeronswift Linux vs Windows was another reason I pulled the trigger on the Steam Deck. I've been using Linux on my desktop for a few years and had no desire to go back to Windows-eventually those GPD devices would be supported, of course, but I figured never as well as a handheld where it's the vendor-supported default OS.
The Steam Deck is a garbage display, battery life and is massive as hell.
@@RusticRonnie lol I sincerely doubt it
Amazing showcase! Always love your videos Taki. The Uncharted demo was hilarious 😆
Uncharted? It looks like Dead Space
Crazy how far we've come with these handhelds. The only elephant in the room is the much lower price of the steam deck, but I'm still happy about the progress that's happening with those 6800u devices.
Funnily enough, i thought the same thing - but comparing it to the 512gb Steam Deck, the price difference between that one and the cheapest Win 4 is only like 100€ if i remember correctly. If the Win 4 is indeed stronger in performance as well, it's quite reasonable.
I wish it was true in Australia as well... here, the cheapest Steam Deck is around $100 USD cheaper than the cheapest Win 4 (including shipping), and the 512GB model is around $100 USD MORE than the 32GB/2TB Win 4. We are getting seriously scalped on the Valve products... so GPD is just a far better value for us. The good thing is that GPD is going to have a custom SteamOS image for the Win 4, so at least I can pretend I just have a Deck with better specs...
Personally I am a huge fan of your content . One more thing I would like to request please try the PC games in 1080 p medium / high preset or a mix of high mid or low without fsr . I think 35 -45 fps is a pretty good range . If it's completely unplayable in 1080 p then only switch to 720p . Please it's a humble request . I really like the quality content that you deliver .
You have a setup guide on how you got the overlay setup? It's very clean and out of the way compared to normal rivatuner and afterburner
$1000...pass. Unless you have a sub-$500 device that can compete with Steam Deck, you might as well not bother in this space.
Yeah GPD Win 4 is the perfect choice for me due to it's performance and form factor, Steam Deck is just too big for my preference and not a fan of it's UI.
Since getting the steam deck, I don't think I can go back to windows on a device like this. I really love the look of the win 4, but until I know steamos will run well, I'm not sure it's for me.
Yeah, steam OS is great. Wayyyy better on a portable then windows
Why would you not want windows? It runs perfectly, you can play EVERYTHING, no compatibility issues anywhere, no problems with anti cheat, nothing.
You're right, but I think out of everyone who's trying to use windows on these devices, GPD does the best at trying to integrate the device with it (having a keyboard, hardware mouse control, ect). But SteamOS is better for a portable handheld, even with all the trade-offs you have to take.
how is big picture UI worse than SteamOS ( I just wanna know the reasons)
@@charlyy1337 As someone who has been using windows handhelds since the original GPD win, and has owned every GPD and Aya device, I can say that the steam deck has completely ruined those devices for me.
Everything from getting into the device, to launching games, to docking and undocking, to changing settings, is easier in steamos. Sleep/resume, steam cloud etc that works more consistently on deck.
Windows devices, almost every day, run into some small annoying issue that is harder to solve because the OS isn't designed for a gamepad.
With my deck, everything just works. Yes you sacrifice some compatibility, but I have other devices if I really need them. For my handheld, ease of use is by far the most important factor.
Thanks for the double exp, that's exactly what I needed before X-mas. I'd +1 that overlay guide! Thanks for the vid Taki!
Edit: So crazy, I played Crimson Sea on Xbox OG way back when and google'd it no less than a week ago. I really loved that game at the time.
For Xenia emulator, be sure to use Canary version! :) It has much better performance
Thank you for the emu demos and for showing the ideal settings. Please do size comparisons with the psp/vita/switch/ayaneo air/etc. How's the screen quality compared to the steam deck/switch oled/ayaneo air/etc? Please do more emu demos with it like MGS4, God of War 3, Gears of war. Thanks,
The physical keyboard would be awesome for DOS and Home Computer emulation. Especially games that need more than just a few buttons. I wonder how well the mouse input "pads" will work, as I wouldn't want to miss the Steam Deck trackpads anymore.
The CPU and GPU temps are quite impressive. How fast and loud is the fan?
I was absolutely unprepared for the body horror at 19:05
Great hardware. I'm thinking about buying it actually. If it only had OLED screen.
Btw. These English dubs in JRPGs are really painful to listen to.
As someone who loves the Vita's form factor, this is a really enticing handheld. Don't know how I feel about the borders though.
If this had 4 hours of battery on Spiderman I would get it. And if I could afford it. Good thing I got 3 months to wait like us all
It's also very thicc, Sideview.
The screen is massive what r u on
@@x7Votorious84x what can these companies do to increase the battery life to be on par with the Vita or Switch?
@@ryuno2097 the battery life on the vita and switch aren't great either though
Damn that Golden Abyss gameplay was straight 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I've watched enough 6800u performance videos to know that, barring some horrendously bad thermal design or other hardware flaw, they'll perform very well. The hardware performance is no longer a question.
I hope reviewers start talking about other things, such as software experience, ease of use in day-to-day, suspend-resume, battery life + ease of optimizing it, eGPU support, any noticeable software bugs/issues, per-game performance profiles, etc.
Most of those were covered in the review that I did for the AYANEO 2 and they will also be included in the review I do for this.
@@TakiUdon thank you. I think QOL features like stable suspend-resume aren't talked about enough in most reviews. Yet, in my opinion, it'd be a deal breaker if some of these QOL issues don't work, so it'd be highly appreciated if you can mention them in the final review 👍
Isn't this like 1200$?
No is $800-$1000
Could you do some ray tracing tests with the Radeon 680m? I'm super curious to see how it performs in games since it does have RT cores thanks to it being RDNA 2 based. Not expecting good performance but I'd still love to see it.
Hi, for the users who are very very very new to the whole TDP conversation, what is it exactly and how do we control it? Why does it matter? I tried doing a Google search to understand the function of controlling TDP but it wasn't explained the friendliest way to someone who has never heard of it before.
In the video, you mentioned that games ran at different TDPs- why does it matter, how do we increase/decrease TDP, and does it impact performance/increase or decrease FPS, do graphic settings matter?
Thanks all.
Way better and more powerful than a steam deck.
ANAYEO 2 vs GPD 4? Including Screen, DPad, & Button comparison? 🤔❤️🔥
this thing is like $800 or over 1k 🗿 I want one so bad but wtf man
Uncharted golden abyss looking as fantastic as ever. Can’t believe how well it was emulated 🤤🤤
No sé si eso era Uncharted o un hijo perdido de Dead Space 🤣🤣 parecían necromorfos graciosos 🤣🤣
This thing is everything I want in regards to form factor and power but I just can't see myself spending more than $300 on a handheld. I guess I'll have to wait for the retroid pocket six that comes out next week lol.
Love your high Quality videos, you really need more subscribers and support!
I really like the screen being in an upper position from where you hold the device
I'm kinda curious on whether you prefer this over the steam deck. Steam Deck is a lot bulkier but if you have the money for it. This looks like the better option
If you have the money for it? The steam deck is much cheaper. Like half the price.
But these 6800U devices are way more powerful. So it’s more if you have the money for the 6800Us, get that, else get a steam deck.
@@Otacon1105 my problem with these devices is support.
Valve want to build the deck into a brand and are supporting it like crazy with updates and tweaks, I feel like these companies just shit these devices out and quickly move onto making something bigger and better.
@@Hayzink I agree 100%, main reason I’m anxious dropping that kind of money on one. I had a deck and didn’t like it personally (too big), so I personally will probably get a small android one or cheaper windows based one like the Loki whenever that comes out.
How funny was it in Uncharted that the character asked if they were in hell. I was scared out of my mind seeing those things on screen. Looked like a living version of Mr Fantastic but this time he wasn't being killed by Scarlet Witch.
Hey Taki My software power control panel allows you to change refresh rate really easily, just as an FYI. I have an update coming that’s going to change a lot of stuff and make it really awesome to use
The Waffle House Has Found Its New Host
I wish I could afford this. I'd get the 2tb one and then an extra 1tb sd and then put all my cartoons and movies on it. Never have to use any other device ever again.
Thought it'd be worth mentioning, you can set a hard fps limit for all of your games within RTSS, by doing it within there you can eliminate all frame stutter by having a consistent frame time. You can set a global limit or exclude certain things, like emulators and it won't affect the refresh rate of the native windows experience
Yes, this is why I don't use capped display refresh rates since it is so easy to do that with RTSS. The refresh rate thing has more value in Linux/Steam OS.
Wow. People are really using english dubs in Japanese games lol. My ears were already bleeding from these short gameplays, let alone if I had to listen to these talentless people the whole game :D
Ordered a month ago, hoping this will be like an overcharged PS vita and the Onexplayer 2 with be like an overpowered Switch! Fun times ahead 😊 but penniless for 6 months lol, handheld gaming is becoming fantastic, only problem is Batteries, I always attach a 20,000 - 30,000Mah battery to devices to make up the shortfall. Only thing is waiting until March 2023, other devices will be announced before then.
I really like hearing the audio come from the source rather than the onboard speakers and recorded off that, really makes it more entertaining to watch the demos
I agree. That's why I rage whenever devices don't have an audio jack.
what tools to show detail fps and stuff like yours. I like it very much
Uncharted golden abyss is a straight up horror game 😂
AYANEO 2 vs GPD WIN 4 - That's the video I want to see 😀
Now I can't go to sleep thanks to the Vita Uncharted game ....o__o
sorry :[
My only concern is the small face buttons and D pad. Its same size as Vita i think, but I wish they were full size buttons as well as the analogue sticks, Then it would be perfect.
Face buttons seem to be the only thing that jumps out at me as something that could have been better from the time I've spent with it.
19:08 So nobody gonna talk about that ?! Lmao.
Screen seems a little small and with large bezels... too expensive when you have the steam deck... meh
I have the Steam deck and I'm going to add one of these
Am I the only one who kinda wants to replay through Uncharted Golden Abyss with the stretchy Mr. Fantastic style characters? Awesome!! 😂
I tried to play it, but it's too difficult to know what you are doing.
I wish to learn how to make a overlay similar to the one you used in the showcase, as it’s easier to look at and not as intrusive compared to the standard msi afterburner/rtss overlay.
That Vita clip of uncharted was so funny 😂😂 “I’ll see you in hell” dude is already there 😂😂
There’s no way he wasn’t laughing when he recorded that
It costs $1199 USD?! Are you kidding?
For the biggest model yes. 32gb of ram and 2tb of internal memory. You don't need to get that one. Unless you plan on running Doom Eternal at extreme settings you don't need 32gb of ram and it would run at 5fps anyway. Since you can get a memory card as well and 1tb cards are not crazy expensive either you can get away with the 800 or 900$ model.
Is the optical mouse easy to use? I play a lot of point and click adveture games, and an optical mouse sounds amazing, but I'm not sure if it's only just good enough to get by, or if it's amazing enough to fully use, like an actual track pad on a laptop.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!!!!! Do a video showing how to setup the river tunner overlay that your using 😭😭
This is basically the one to rule them all.
the golden abyss footage had me laughing, Vita3K really deserves more love (also I wanna play oreshika)

This does it all. I just wish storage could catch up. I have 16TB of roms and old games but the m.2 ssds only go up to 8tb right now and are prohibitively expensive.
If someone could somehow mod a PS4 account on it, I’d buy it so quick
this was 5months ago and the 7840U series is potentially GPD's next APU to arrive for their Win and Win Max series. very exciting
10 months later now it’s the 8000 series
Please make that general guid on RTSS overlay. It's way less obtrusive than MSI After Burner's overlay. I do have RivaTuner already installed with MSI Afterburner. I tried to use it one time but couldn't figure it out. Please keep it simple and fast also whilst including how to download and use themes
I second that, it would be really helpful if general guide was made for us.
I wouldn't touch a GPD product with a 10 foot pole, my sister got a GPD Win (the original) back when it was a recent launched product and suddenly one day it bricked itself while charging (with the included charger btw) and the only way to fix it is by flashing a new BIOS which is almost impossible for someone without the knowledge or the tools to do it.
What settings do you have to run Ratchet and Clank at 12:38? I’ve tried messing with tdp and renderer settings but I’m seeing significant slow down even at 720p.
I cannot seem to get more than 15-20 FPS on BOTW via CEMU. Any settings suggestions?
one of the best gpd win4 emulator videos, ty! would you be willing to test some pc games as well? Genshin, dragon age etc?
Hi. If possible, can you post a spider man 2 test on an xbox emulator? It's very interesting to know.
bruh but i judt modded my psvita lol. i really want this/ can it doubled as a laptop? because i'm due for an upgrade, and i need something ic an plug into a monitor, and do assignments and research etc on the other hand i do think hand held gaming is just getting started in terms of its capabilities with being capable of emulating other consoles and also playing AAA games being rleased recently., so i might just wait for the win 5 to cme out or the steam deck 2. but with the way its going i dont think i will have to wait too long, hopefully.
Oh my god what was going on with the character models in Uncharted: Golden Abyss? Is that the emulator or the game making them wonky?
I'd be interested to see how stuff like any of the SOCOM games, God of War, Resident Evil GC, Battlefield 2 Modern Combat, etc. Ran on it. And also how it compares to using the Steamdeck for it instead.
Uncharted golden abyss exactly as I remembered it a total nightmare
Only thing stopping me from getting this or a steam deck is the amount of knowledge you need to have on PC, like knowing what settings to use for each game. I would hate having to tweak setting for each game this why I love console or just PSP. I wish they made it more like a console where all games just work instead of having me do it cause I know nothing about this type of stuff although I love playing games I don't know what settings I need to make each game run good 😫
Steam sets it up automatically, or go to the setting option in the menu of the game.
