Great review and scent. While not the same, I ended up happy enough just keeping Rose & Cuir, but this is definitely full bottle worthy. Going for Ambre Supreme instead for variety's sake.
Absolutely love this! A freshly picked rose. Probably my favourite Rose at the moment, along with Rose Incense from Amouage and La Douleur Exquise from Les Abstraits🌹Cheers Ramsey 🐏
The most photorealistic rose I have in my collection is L'ombre dans L'eau..unbelievably beautiful and inspiring. I wonder how close your fragance compares to it.
@@RamseytheRam Unless it's...I won't tell your secret if you don't tell mine. Collusion is an unfortunate reality and often a part of a balanced breakfast for many leading corporations.
Great review Rams, it says a lot about a man who is able to wear a rose fragrance🌹 it is such a pure beautiful miraculous scent that on its own is magnificent and when juxtaposed with others it can become intoxicatingly mysterious and complex. Roses are amazing.
Yup! Can’t beat Malik al Taif ! Although it’s artisanal Ofcourse ! In the niche world , Rose de Jamal would definitely be in my top 3 . It’s such a pink rose for me yet has slight sweetness, not jammy at all . I enjoy the minty vibe as well a lot . On a hot day , this is brilliant 🤩
Interesting discussion on the subject of masculine roses. I don't subscribe to that separation, but do find that a lot of rose perfumes marketed toward women are overly sweet, candied, or jammy. On the flip side, many of the so-called masculine roses are drier, woodier, and tend towards pairings with oud, leather, patchouli, etc. Neither stereotype really works that well, but as a marketing device, I suppose it serves its purpose. Rose, and more specifically, rose absolute is one of the most complex and intriguing notes in all of perfumery. It's right up there with oud in terms of complexity in my opinion. So when you smell lesser, cheaper synthetic replacements that we're inundated with as representations of "rose" it really does a disservice to the note. The problem, as I see it, is that perfumes with high concentrations of rose absolute of whatever variety are now incredibly expensive. Rose de Jamal at around $250 for a 50ml is comparatively speaking for a rose perfume of that quality a bargain. Another one I like is Rose de Taif by Perris Monte Carlo, but only in the extrait version. It's not nearly as complex, basically a soliflore, but well done.
Thank you for doing justice to this truly stunning piece of work by Antoine Lie. I have not encountered another review which did so, and this was a pleasure to watch. I am a rose fanatic, and this is easily among the best rose perfumes I've had the pleasure of encountering. It is deceptively simple, but so brilliantly executed with materials of such depth and character that in reality it is anything but. On a side note, I agree with you about the geranium acting as the top register to the rose (this is something that is often done, but in a way that there's no real attempt to properly integrate the two). I'm near finishing a 10ml decant, and wishing they did 100ml bottles. Rose de Jamal is one of those rare fragrances that every time I wear it, the thought occurs that maybe I don't really want any other perfumes (which is of course incorrect, but still says a lot 🙂). Salutations, once again, from Aus.
Thanks for this great information! I’m on a rose kick lately and in search of a fresh rose fragrance for the summer. Between this, Katana Khaan, Rose de Tiaf Perris Monte Carlo, or Diptyque Eau Rose what’s the most natural smelling? 🙏🏼
Just please don't put the Francis Kurkdjian thing on yourself. For a rose lover, it is basically poison and despair. I like, and have the Perris (the extrait, not the EDP), but wouldn't rate it as alwaus very coherent (personal opinion so take with plenty of grains if salt). The way the various rose accords and the geranium are combined can kind of start unravelling depending on the conditions. It's a bit difficult to know exactly what perfume you're getting on any particular day.
so happy I was able to get a full sample set of les indemodables for the low, so many good scents from that brand, also managed to snag a bottle of 13' lyric man non mag cap, absolutely love that stuff, also I need to add that you absolutely have to try di ser's keman because the rose and cherry blossom in that scent is UNREAL
Rose isn’t my favourite floral at all I prefer Jasmin or tuberose but your review of this makes me want to try it. This is a great house and they need to get more credit! Great video with so much knowledge and detail put into it- always a pleasure Ram 🐏 🌹thank you
I love Rose. As a man I've never had any hesitation to wear it. I do love Acteur by Azzaro, Rose Flash etc.. Eau Capitale by Diptyque remends me a lot of Acteur btw and it's pretty good albeit without the depth of the Azzaro. But you are right, straight up rose oil is sometimes the way to go for a hardcore rose fix. I just mix up a 4-5% total solution in pure Ethanol(that would be equivalent to *about* 20-25% of a typical Perfume concentrate), and just Spray it all over my jacket and jeans, etc. It's glorious and it does catch people off guard I feel, but in a good way.
Great video Ramsey, i was curious if you'd like this as much as narjesi since you review was very high on that fragrance. Price aside, do you like rose de jamal on the same level as narjesi?
I think the first 10 ot 15 minutes of Nariesi from memory wowed me even more, but I think if you take the composition as a whole and value for money Rose de Jamal would win out But if money was no issue and you could just spray yourself every hour I would take Narjesi
Great to know. That was the feedback I was looking for. Still can't wait to see the Cartier Oud collection review in the upcoming months. I feel like you'll give it a proper breakdown. Thanks again
The only rose dominant scent in my collection, I even sold LDE by Les Abstrait and OE4 ALD, but RdJ is unique and so elegant and refined and never too much.
Cheers Rams, I do still struggle with Rose forward fragrances, don’t know why I love everything ( Except getting spiked by thorns) about the flower, which is weird, I wear Oud/ Rose fragrances no prob ,vintage fragrances of course but the rose must be heavily supported I suppose before I like a composition, but god loves a trier and I shall press forward lol . Great video man have a good one 🙏✌️👍🌹🌷
Great review! Definitely one of my favorites from the house. It really is THAT fresh smelling. Beautiful stuff. As for more, I highly recommend their discovery set. You get the entire collection at 3ml each, including the two colognes for $60 at Lucky Scent. And it comes nicely packaged with a big booklet with all the information. A tremendous value. Most discovery sets are rip offs. So hats off once again to Remi & Valerie.
Thinking about some of the more popular niche rose fragrances marketed toward men, there are scant few I find all that compelling. Certainly, things like Amouage's Lyric Man, with its desiccated rose doesn't do much for me (I prefer Lyric Woman as a much livelier representation). And while I appreciate Malle's Portrait of a Lady I'm not drawn to wearing it. I do like Andy Tauer's work with roses, even his Rose Flash, but often as not it's the other aspects that draw me to the perfumes, such as his Incense rosé which is more incense than rose.
Yes I haven't smelled Rose Flash but I really liked Incense Rose... who someone explained to me it's actually Incense Rosé and when you see it through those eyes the composition makes more sense... I would totally have a bottle of that if $ was no issue
I was afraid of Rose & Iris in the beginning. I couldn't stand aldehydes and neroli because it reminded me of my Grandma. I'm just starting to appreciate aldehydes, while loving the rest
it’s like you’re in in the beautiful Garden of Eden on a damp spring day.
Wonderful scent
Those roses in the thumbnail are a perfect representation 😍
What an incredible rose fragrance. Top 5 rose for me. Rose, cedar, and lavender. Just great.
It is fantastic indeed... one of my favorite Rose frags 🌹
It's almost indescribably elegant and deep. Real stunner.
Great review and scent. While not the same, I ended up happy enough just keeping Rose & Cuir, but this is definitely full bottle worthy. Going for Ambre Supreme instead for variety's sake.

I have never smelled it... but I would love to one day
Thanks for watching & commenting
Nice suggestion! But which one, the EDT or EDP?.. for the photorealism in the rose?
@mandarinmelon It's the EDT If memory doesn't fail.
I'm with you on the issue of more transparency!! 🌹
That would be sweet... we just need a house or two to take the lead and force the other houses to comply

Probably Khaan but unfortunately the brilliant opening doesn't last as long on me
I reviewed it on the channel btw
I love the Vintage La Rose Rochas from Edmond Roudnitska, pure fresh rose in a bottle.
Never smelled it believe it or not

The discovery sets are a genuine bargain. Waayyy less per ml than the bottles. Shows how confident they are in their work.
Oh and it sounds like your daughter is inheriting your love for scent! You must show her the way of the vintage! 😂😂😂

Quality without a doubt... however, it would be another dust collector for me, and I already have too many of those.
Well if you wear 1 or 2 fragrances per day like I do, then everything else you own is a dust collector until their day comes lol
