holy crap, he lived in my neighbourhood back in the day, and i went to school with his son. for some reason i was thinking about the 'harris'' family and i just remember he had a motor powered skateboard, looking back, i thought he must have been a pro. he was just so 'chill' considering the area we lived in. this explains it!
he's so fucking dope. I think he's almost as good, if not better, than rodney. rodney's got a lot of tech stuff but kevin harris has the best style out of any freestyle. I don't think old school freestylers get enough attention in general.
I just watched Rodneys video from this same contest. Freaking vid has over 6 million views. The comments are turned off. This guy Kevin Harris is obviously very good, but serious question...How or why would anyone want to follow Rodney Mullen? I'm not saying Harris did or didn't and I'm sure they don't have a choice, but it would only seem fair to the others to have Rodney go last. All these guys are amazing, but Rodney was just miles ahead of everyone else. I wonder if they all knew that at the time.
@@gonzo13ist I disagree, there are a few times he just looked like he was about to fall off. judges obviously preferred Rodney as well in this competition.
@@gonzo13ist Exceptional flow. No pushes, and each trick flows to the next, with just one minor step off. Andy Anderson's smooth flowing freestyle was influenced by Kevin Harris, and it shows!
Is this the guy that invented the skate stopper? His name is all over a slap skateboarding message boards talking about it but then when you search for the inventor's name it also comes up with Chris Loary
Stupid comment. Harris could easily defeat Mullen in a duel and I loved both of them. Mullen had more incredible tricks ahead of anyone, Harris was quicker and more agile.
I agree that this was a dumbass comment but I disagree with Brian saying Kevin could “easily” beat Rodney in a duel. Especially considering they were both in this contest and he came 2nd to Rodney. Kevin was still awesome tho.
His style is soo smooth, I found out about this guy reading The Mutt.
Thank you Rodney 🙌
Kevin Harris is a huge influence in Andy Anderson's flowing style. I'm stoked that old school freestyle has been brought back to life!
Pre-ollie favorite skater
Rodney was doing kickflips and Ollie's impossibles
@@bluewidow9151 not just doing those tricks. He invented them.
I like how he can do an entire run without stepping off the board.

Wow. This dude is unreal!!! Sublime!!! Like wtf!!! How have I not heard of this dude?!!!
Thanks Andy Anderson.
Supersick! The flip to one foot manny!!
That was epic.
I would love to live in the 80s. Just seemed like an overall chill and fun time
It wasn't different than any other decade. I grew up during it.

That one footed move at 00:36
It’s one of the less dramatic looking tricks, but damn that is a really hard trick to pull off!
That my dude, is a flamingo. Personally I prefer to call the footplanting variation a calf wrap.
@@JordanThomasRichards Hey thank you very much for the info. I never knew what that move was called. You rock man!
@@JordanThomasRichards Trick invented by Kevin Harris, named by Monty Little :)
Best style I have ever seen!
This rules! Thanks for posting
Very smooth style
What an amazing run!

Andy Anderson sent me here.
Me too!

Same bro. Wolf vs Hawk. Lol.
Many thanks for posting.
Amazing skateboarder.
Sadly most people won’t get the art of this :/ everyone is so fixated with Ollie stuff these days.
Andy Anderson has entered the chat...
Yes he probably has a similar opinion
@@philipandersson4932 I think he appreciates all styles, but you probably love his?

Kevin Harris was Rodney's favorite skater.
"I knew if I practiced eight hours a day I wasn't going to catch up with the tricks you were doing" Kevin Harris to Rodney Mullen
I think he has a smoother style than Rodney! Just my opinion. He has a flow that can not be copied!

Rodney Mullen is better
I don't think anyone would dispute that in the competitive world, but Kevin Harris' style was/is absolutely beautiful.

Rodney Mullen loved Kevin's style. He stated in his autobiography that he would have loved to have lost to Kevin in a competition.
This is what a master of board control looks like...
