Thanks for the update, Baby Mae. I don'r know the date that Paul stopped smoking, but I definitely remember what it was like for me when I switched to vaping 8 years ago. The first six weeks were living hell as I coughed up stuff that had been building up in my lungs for decades. I also learned first hand that cigarette smoke acts as an analgesic that numbs the lungs to the damage smoking does. Now that Paul has quit, he is really feeling the damage in his lungs. The good news is that if he remains a non-smoker, that damage will soon start to heal and he will start feeling better. As I said, six weeks was the magic number for me and it got worse before it started getting better -- but it DID get better! Tell Paul to just hang in there and eat his chicken soup!
Thank you for the update Mae. There are many of us old dog fans out here wanting the best for Paul and yourself. Some of us are willing to do whatever we can to support you both.❤❤❤
Lots of good advice here in the comments re vitamins D2/K2, avoid sugars, food cooked in seed oils and processed foods, sunshine and moderate exercise. Also, when you quit smoking after so many years the lungs begin a cleaning process, he's going to get a chest infection, there's no way to avoid this, it just needs to be managed - God bless
Mae we will keep you and Paul in my prayers 🙏 Your a great wife and a good nurse for your husband Mae. Thanks for sharing Paul's condition with us. Smoking is very tuff to quit. Go Paul Go 👍
Yes I am praying for Pauls recovery each day. He is a great man. I am Australian I think the Australian t-shirt is great. Once Paul is better you can move to Australia. Sounds like his condition needs more attention. I think he can get a good checkup in Cebu City.
When you quit smoking after 50 years, your body needs to adjust to your immune system slowing down. I smoked for 35 years and when I quit I got an infection in my leg like gout, but it was called cellulitis. It all happened right after I quit smoking, so I believe the immune system is working overtime when you smoke cigarettes, and when you suddenly stop, your immune system needs to adjust. Since Paul‘s doctor mentioned that if he did not quit, he could go blind, that would explain the dizziness and migraine, due to the cataracts, which need to be taken care of. His recovery may simply require a lot of rest, Vitamins and healthy food and drinks. Even after smoking for so many years, the body has miraculous ways of recovering and repairing damage to different organs. I send my prayers for Paul‘s quick recovery.
Hey Baby Mae, if not already I highly recommend you quickly start Paul on vitamin D3 at 4000 IUs (International Units) 6000 IUs would be better for the first few months, and vitamin K2. These are harmless vitamins but will build up Paul’s immune system as they did mine and many others I know. It sounds like this is exactly what Paul needs. They take around a week for the body to absorb. They’re also very cheap to buy. Love to you both, Norm and Jane x
Thank you for the update. I am praying for Paul's recovery. My first thought was that perhaps he is having a bad reaction to the medication for high blood pressure. Some of the symptoms match my own experience when I first began taking the medication.
HI BABY MAE , I think GOD will pull PAUL thru this time of sickness. Our prayes out here in UA-cam LAND are with the both of you. PAUL could NEVER have a better person/wife than you by his side. PLEASE continue to be the BABY MAE will all love the both of you. GOD BLESS CIAO
Mae, it's happiness in life that counts. My wife worries about me the same way and believe me we appreciate it. But as a man I know sometimes we just need to be us to be happy. Paul is a great guy.
Thanks for the update Baby Mae, I echo what others are saying here; you are a wonderful wife to Paul. The love, kindness and support that you are providing is wonderful and key for his successful recovery! Prayers and blessings to you!
Sending prayers and positive vibes to both of you. I enjoy both of your channels and I hope that things will improve. UA-cam without the Old Dog is like cornflakes without the milk. Warmest wishes and a speedy recovery. Many hugs from Germany.
I am glad you are taking care of him, Mae. Paul we miss seeing your mug on the UA-cam! But never mind us crazy people- you take it easy- and one day at a time!!!! From Alaska this is Paul telling Paul get well soon and you are in good hands with baby Mae! Thanks for the updates!
Glad you gave him Chicken soup. That always helps to make me feel better when I feel sick. I'm so glad he quit smoking. In the long run this will help him, but in the short term he will suffer withdrawal symptoms. Just hang in there Paul. The withdrawal will pass after a while, and you will benefit if you keep at it. Baby Mae I am so glad for the excellent care you are giving him.
If he will eat Kimchi Baby Mae that is very very healthy for him along with the Vitamin D3 the others were sugesting . God bless you both and praying for Pauls full recovery🙏🙏🙏❤️ !!!
Mae, I hope Paul will get better. I had mentioned to you before, he needs to see a good Cardiologist ( heart specialist) . He really needs some heart work. Nicotine patches can help in his smoking withdrawal. He needs a good doctor who can order some antibiotics, steroids or some inhalers. His condition has been going on for a while, it can really get complicated if you wait. God bless!
You are both in my prayers. I have learned so much from your videos. Without them, I would not have traveled to the Philippines. I will be back later this month, staying until mid March. I know you will take very good care of Paul. You are both blessed with true , devoted love.
Baby may we all love you and we all love Paul. Paul is going to be okay. Tell him I said. God bless and godspeed and get back as soon as possible. We miss him and thank you for your update baby. May we all love you also God bless !!!!!!!!
Hi Paul and Baby Mae, T I have worked in healthcare for years and have given my thoughts on what you should do health wise before. You are getting a lot of advice in the comments so I will limit mine. The Vitamin D3 and K2 are good suggestions. Paul needs to hang in there, he has gone 1 month without smoking, he is getting there! Smacking is very addictive and the withdrawals can be very painful and difficult. It should start to improve soon. I think it may already be improving based on what you said about Paul having good days and bad days. I think the good days is a sign that he is getting to the other side of this. I have never smoked but my father did and he had to quit because it was severely effecting his health. He did this over 20 years ago and I remember after he had quit he said it was one of the most difficult things he ever did. It is a severe addiction. Paul is very smart to not start vaping. There are many vaping products that contain metals and other chemicals that damage the lungs. It will be another health crisis once the facts are known. Right now there is not a lot of regulation on it here in the US. Continued prayers for you and Paul Mae! Thank you for the update!! ❤
Thank you, Baby Mae, I'm sure your taking great care of Paul. I think he is right he is getting the best possible care staying with you at home no need to travel. May God Continue to Bless you both.
Thank you so much for Paul's update. I wish Paul a very quick and full recovery. Really miss seeing you two together. Both of you take good care! heart ❤
Thanks for you health update for your husband Paul Old Dog on UA-cam. You are a very good wife yo Paul and you have my total respect Baby Mae. This is Roy from Scotland. I wish Paul good health now and for the future. Pls on pass my best wishes to Paul. He is a very nice American gentleman. 😊😊😊
Hey After one year in Isabela provinces, i have come to realise you definitely need to use health supplements. This is mainly because a typical supermarket is quite far from where you live, meaning you can't buy the normal food westerners have. Definitely take potassium, magnesium, vitamin D, vitamin C. Also, believe it or not salt is very important for humans (not idioised). It should be rock salt/sea salt. Iodine is also important. I started to have the symptoms same as Paul. Try to look for multi vitamins which can cover most of the above. If possible, try to get some steps in every day. Hope this helps? Simon
Our prayers go out to you and Paul. I hope that these withdraw symptoms don't last too long. Whenever you stop something that you've done for a very long time, the body is trying to get that missing resource from everywhere it can find some of it without you re-introducing it back into the body again. Hopefully these symptoms don't last too long.
Thanks for the update, I have been wondering how Paul was doing. Glad to hear that the 1st surgery went well and looks like he is getting ready for the 2nd one....look forward to him coming back to his vlogs when he is ready
Hi Mae good update and nice shirt you are wearing, your husband will be o and will recover, when us older guys have operations and medical conditions it takes us a bit longer to recover and make sure Old Dog listens to the doctor so hopefully he will have next operation ,over the last year i have had 4 different operations and last one was 3 months ago and im still recovering, best wishes to you and Paul and God Bless 🙏
Thank you for the update. When someone quits smoking after decades, symptoms like migraines and fatigue are common as the body adjusts to the absence of nicotine. Taking vitamins such as B6, B12, and C can help with energy levels, as smoking depletes these, while magnesium and CoQ10 may relieve headaches. Staying hydrated, resting, and eating well can also ease the transition. If symptoms persist, consulting a healthcare provider may be beneficial.
Thanks for the update, Mae. Prayers for Paul and his recovery. I am glad he quit smoking, but it is extremely hard to break away from a 50-year habit. Blessing to both of you.
Been trying to tell you - get Paul to see a Cardiologist. Soon, he is suffering from arterial sclerosis - a blockage in his heart, easy fix with a stent - treatment in Manila is recommended at the big hospital near the embassy.
Continued prayers for you both. Has he seen a doctor lately? Maybe they would have some insight on the migraines and the Dizziness. I've never met Paul, yet I consider him a good friend. Thanks so much for the update!!!
Thank you Baby Mae for taking the time for sharing Paul's progress greatly appreciated keep safe.
Thank you too
