I've watched the RE factory tour videos and everything is high tech. I'm enjoying seeing you working on the same models that I've also just bought, but at 70 I'm just going to ride and enjoy them. They'll more than outlast me. Lol. Pulled the plug today and bought the '22 Rocker Red GT. Now I have green and red RE's. Snow coming the next 5 days so I'll be visiting them at my dealer. Spring can't come soon enough.!! 👍👍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🙋♂️

Hi Shawn. I changed the cam on my 2022 Meteor 350 last year. I didn't use any specialist tools or remove the clutch casing. Removed the cam cover, took out the plug on the left casing, got TDC, tippexed the cam sprocket, mounting bolts and cam chain, removed the cam chain tensioner and went for it. After the install I turned the engine over a couple of times manually to double check everything was lined up and, hey presto, it worked a treat.
You're right, it's a fairly staightforward SOHC engine with nut and bolt tappets, so I'm sure if I can do it without the factory tools you'll have no problem either. 👍👍
4:18 ... wow, Stadium! That was the brand of my first helmet back in 1975, when I got my first 'adventure' bike, a Honda Z50A Mini Trail. Of course my definition of 'adventure' was going somewhere different on each ride :)

A very cool vlog today…just love the tech and when Smoak is tinkering with a bike. Just awesome 👌 Love the idea of making the best of the situation and just making it work. Reminds me of my late father who would often make tools to get a job done…he was handy with a lathe etc. Cool, have a great one👍

Use a copper penny between the clutch basket gear and the crank gear. Locks everything solid.

Maybe I missed it? But I would have liked to see the moments the old cam came out and the new one went in. I have 2 "bikes" and am always trying to learn more about them.

Just curious if those tools came from RE or Hitchcock's? I got Hitchcock's drop links for the Himalayan where one of the links was different from the other...
They have RE part numbers on them and did come from Hitchcock's.
