I shed a tear at the MASSIVE climax of the story. Not the moment that Alear was a fell dragon to begin with(that much obvious) but the moment that out of all rings they used, they use Sigurd for this moment. I’m so happy for both him and Leif to finally have the recollection they deserve.
As much as Alear being a Fell dragon felt kinda obvious and predictable from their design and showing Red Alear bc I thought Red Alear was the original then became the Alear now. I will say how they foreshadowed how Fell & Divine dragons summon Emblems was well done. I went back and Lumera was shocked Alear used an invocation, and when summoning Sigurd she prayed. It was so short and subtle near the beginning of the game you don’t realize the difference.
At the same time it was implicit there that Alear used a prayer too, since they also wished and yearned to help them. Something it seems Lumera caught up on when they further explained how the emblem summoning worked. So it's more like they need the incantantion to channel their divine dragon powers. That was a really nice attention to detail.
I wish they had leaned more into Alear's Fell side. Such as having Alear's dreams be a way for him/us to explore his past experiences and see what being Sombron's enforcer was really like, his brothers and sisters, etc. Players could decide to play those flashbacks with Emblems or with Fell powers. The game could have tracked how much we were playing the Divine or Fell path by how our allies reactions to Griss's bomb. A) we played Divine/Good all the way, allies use The Power of Friendship to stand by Alear. B) we used the Fell powers in those flashbacks; allies with the lowest bonds to Alear might withdraw while keeping the highest ranked characters to stand with him. Alear has to regain their trust by battling them or whatever. C) Alear does Genocide Route in his flasbacks; everyone scatters after Griss's scene, take the rings with them. Alear has to get all of them back, rebuilding their alliances. Makes the game replayable without making Alear into a total monster. It's even more bittersweet if he's not a monster, but his friends think he is since Griss's bomb was meant to shatter their alliance. I would have loved to see it burn, before putting it back together. (And I say this as someone who has never played the game, but fell in love with the VA acting. ) Edit: one more thought, Alear's actions in the past (good/bad) could have effects written into the present. The more Good we play, the more numerous good legends about Alear. The more Neutral/Fell, the decrease in his legends/good will. Fell route in the past? More evil legends that present!Alear has to fight against.
@@romain8996 It's like an ungodly combo of the two since corrin isn't a divine or fell dragon, or even a manakete. Corrin is just straight up a dragon lmao.
4:06 Probably the most savage line in FE history.

It was obvious but I like how it was revealed. Great performance.

that’s why she didn’t say anything when she summoned Sigurd oooooohh

That was sooo obvious from the 1st minute. And when veyle appeared, i was like ooh ooh ripoff Azura.....must be the antagonist daughter or something 😂
Family feud between dragons be like...
Mauvier, thank you for coming to accept Alear's self too.
2:19: No, that's not true. THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE
Search your heart you know it’s true
Look inside your heart-
DONT GIVE ME THAT CLICHE BULL*H#%!
@@Oreca2005Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!
This was a "twist" that I'm sure pretty much everyone saw coming. I literally called this day one.
I don't mind that this is similar to fates. It was done so much better this time that I respect it
No, it really wasn’t
@@nickcalderon2637maybe in your opinion but in ours it was done better.
Alear being the bastard son of Sombron the fell dragon confirmed.
Wouldn’t that make all his dead children bastard children too? Especially Veyle since she’s Sombron’s youngest.
Yes.
For twist like that to from a unstable and a psychopath has a point kinda like kane from titanfall 2
If byleth he/she would say : "you act like know me, but i still had to fight you..." 👁️_👁️
I see the dutch angle during the cutscene.
Though i guess that fits with how you would feel in such a revelation.
I guessed it right
oh so that why he has red eye too
As if the dysfunctional Mishimas weren’t bad enough…
You're too careful, Mauvier. You knew that no one will kill you when trying to approach Alear to help Veyle.
How can he see himself in a dream where he sees his eyes and hair are red. He had to be looking in third person if he could see himself in the dream
Not always, I do have dreams in the third person sometimes. Lots of times actually.
@@rainwitchansy Same, as if I'm watching my own movie, dreams are weird like that
The love child of Awakening and Fate's
Ooh now THIS it the power of friendship crap that'll get me to get back into the game!
...when I find some more time.
I'm guessing everyone knew that from the start??
No. Not every player.
What a surprise…
6:57 Whats the ost playing?
Robin's (FE Awakening) Situation is much worse then that!
We went through this already. It's not even done with a change up like in Fates. And why not at least keep Lumera as the mother?
Alear literally feels like a bootleg Robin lmao
And the surprise?
Damn, they fr did steal robin's whole ass character and gimmick for this toothpaste chan and pepsi kun.
this game is so ghetto omfg
I would rather call this Corrin’s since he is directly the child of a dragon and not just a vessel.
I would have rather they just made him a divine dragon all along it would have been something new instead of a repeat of some past plot points

@@clmaoo At least Alear being a dragon, fell or not, is actually relevant to their story, unlike Corrin
