Also, thank you to the UA-cam user who translated the text into Spanish:
- Фільми й анімація
Glad to see that i'm not the only one to go through perilous searches to find this video after accidentally stumbling upon it years ago. Its great and definitely deserves to be remembered. Happy i found it finally.
Same here! I'm glad I'm not the only one.
funny, about once a year I would do the same thing to end up at dead ends.
No you didn't stumble upon it. It was literally featured like 15 years ago.
Now 16
I watched this when I was on HS & now I'm a working adult. The feels maaan
Man my brother and I watched this way back when I was like 16 (31 now) and he was 13 (28 now) it left such a profound make on us. He reminded me of this video today 15 years later and it still feels the same. I had forgotten but he still remembered and I went on a scavenger hunt to find it, I’m so glad I did. To my brother I love you man!
many years later I find myself coming back to this video after I had long forgotten it, still wondering what the meaning of it could be
I think it's about a guy reflecting on his dead brother?
FEEL trip
I’m not too sure why I saved this into my video list back in 2007 but I am watching this again in 2020.....For some nostalgic reason....
Watching this now after 15 years brought a different perspective and understanding.
It was himself who was lost all along...
The elements of this film come together extremely well. Gave me the chills. Loved the narrator's voice.
Took me so long to find this again! Posting in 2018, brother.
i could watch this all day long. i love the narration -- the narrator's voice and the words
I saw this video once years ago and I couldnt found it again till today..I really like it.
"I know who you are" -powerful! I've seen this video like 10 times already and never caught that part.
So so so beautiful!
What an absolute piece of art...thank you soo much,,paxon"! and everyone who participated.. cheers..
Truly remarkable.
Original style, gripping narrative, sparse enough for the mind to fill in the blanks, rich enough to prevent lapse in tension.
Amazing. Congratulations.
'you were always my favourite freflection' that was a beautiful line. not to mention a beautiful poem. i liked it.
moving in a way i didnt think possible... i love it!
it ended beautifully. I love that type of relationship between siblings.
It was just a clever transition between scenes, and possibly to amplify the thought that he had no brother but it was instead just his own reflection.
Ah, I love this! How it builds up when your talking about the eight, then goes into relaxing guitar. Good job.
paxson, this was my favorite video 4 years ago. I used to watch it every single day.
Love this type of videos! This one right here is brilliant!
I watched this when I was like 14. Now I'm 27 and I still don't quite understand it. I like it though
I saw this video during a very stressful time in my life. The haunting music, the hypnotic narration and the surreal animations really stick with me. It is a good video regardless of its intended meaning. I believe it is meant to be about a man who was environmentally conscious in his youth, but decided to go work in a factory. I think 8 years later he's reflecting on his life and he realizes that he betrayed his ideals. He then goes to the woods to reconcile his practical and idealistic halves.
Took a while to find this video again after so many years, but I'm glad I did.
I've seen this piece a dozen times at least and each time I still need a moment to catch my breath. You have a gift for interpreting how you percieve the world, and I hope you continue to provide yourself with ample opportunities to allow it to flourish.
WOW. just wow. This is amazing. I love all of it, the style, the music...Fantastic job! *favorites*
I think it shows a brother grieving the neglect he imposed on his brother when the factories were spreading industrially. The polluted river represents the poisoning of the land and the younger brother drowned in one because the older one was not there. I like this piece. It's complex and vague.
Beautiful, inspiring, and moving. A brilliant use of animation media to express an poem/story. This is why I come to You Tube! Thanks.
cool animation and story telling..........loved it. nice music too.
Simple and effective. Love the textures.
the plot and the sound is amazing!!!! not to mention the animation!! welldone!!
Stumbled across this - I've worked in animation for years - this was great- and the soundtrack made it so eerie! LOVED IT!
I really liked it, it's like finding something that you had lost and thought you couldn't find but in the end it's meant for you to find it, no matter how hard it is to get there.
this is the coolest animation i have ever seen. there is something about the character's voice, when paired with the eerie animation and the haunting music--it just makes sense. a great halloween/autumn video.
Still eerily captivating 12 years later.
Es el mejor video que he visto últimamente
sin duda alguna
exelente video.
Still the greatest viral poem ever. It reminds me of my brother that passed away. I wonder if it is written for a lost sibling. Thanks Paxon!
i can't stop watching this
great flash animation...u brought the feelings out
Eerie story, beautiful artwork. Nice job.
Wonderful, really wonderful.
i've watched this video right around 15 times the last few days. this is what i get from it:
his brother was his reflection in the river. the factories that were built created pollution, making the river water dark, so he couldn't see himself anymore. this is when his "brother" died. eight was his favorite number because it was "symmetrical and clean." The number eight reminds him of the time before the factories polluted.
very good work well done!
beautifull music also!
wtg!
that was a great work of art. good job.
Congrats to Paxson Woelber. Quite an artist.
That.....was beautiful maen....great job! peacx
thanks paxson...that is the most awesome, DEEP animation I've ever seen...touched me on many levels...WOW!!!!!!
so bizarre coming back to this. thanks
Amazing animation and great soundtrack!
A Work Of Art Truly! Bravo! Bravo!
OMG! HOW AMAZING WAS THAT?!?!? best thing i've seen all month
Chilling and lush. Regardless of the metaphor, I still found myself becoming emotionally charged when I thought this could be a post mortem poem. I really enjoyed this. Keep it up!
makes me wanna scroll down so i cant see it but at the same time i wanna scroll back up and watch it
sometimes you see things like that and you feel there is a hope in art..
so many different interpretations, proof of what a masterpiece this is. good job mate
I love it! Seriously that was nice! And what you did with the music was great!
One of my favourite videos on youtube :)
Kudos to you ^^
I'm like everyone else. This video from 6 years ago still sticks with me with the acidity of The Path.
amazing work took a little time to understand but now that i do i realise the brilliance
5 stars !
Great, very interesting video and great music, that perfectly creates the mood!
This is giving me an Edgar Allen Poe feeling... I love all the metaphors and references to the number 8.
And the title is perfect for this video. I love the whole idea.
Great... really, marvelous.
Well done. Nice animation and very good music... well done indeed!
outstanding! i absolutely love this.
and the soundtrack is unbelievably good.
kudos!
ABSOLUTELY LOVE all the subliminal stuff in this animation! Very complex. This is a clip you have to watch many times over. Excellently done! Audio is spot on.
Bravo.
That was an amazing film . Very thought provoking and moody . Such a vastly different work than any i have seen in a long time .
Wonderfully atmospheric, creepy, and mysterious. The use of simple stick figures adrift in a world of alternating color and drabness was inspired. I look forward to seeing more of your work here.
that was great! great narrator voice 2!
I get it crystal clear
THIS IS ART
btw, excellent work all around. great pacing, great music, great sound, and very fitting illustration.
It's amazing, I love it!!

This is my favorite UA-cam video!
coool work, like the Gothic feel, that kind of storytelling always has a place in the arts
i love it your vid rocks and the depth of it was amazing.
Very great work!
Just bringing this post back for those who don't want to look through all of them. I think this persons got a great perspective on this!
wow that was amazing and very deep. loved it!
love the colors you use
Wow, this was really good, seeing how I only watched it 'cause it was popping up everywhere.
Wonderful. And to the people who don't get it, the message behind it is, if it is simplified as far as possible, "Pollution is a horrible thing."
beautiful and poetic
que bien por tanta creatividad!!!
I grew up in Eagle River, Alaska, just a few miles away from Anchorage. ha ha and it just so happens that I'm applying to Middlebury, a cool coincidence
Wow, Very cool I love thise pictures!
whoa that was awesome very creative and artistic
Wow. That was truly beautiful. I love the stlye, so sur-real yet so applicible to all our lifes. Dont listen the other's who don't understand man. This is true poetry with true art.
Very very incredible. I am impressed. Surreal, abstract, yet with a driving force and order in the strangest wonderful way. Great work!
