Let's go! Excellent video with so many different vehicles out there I find it great to watch a video on the job I'm going to do. In the old days we would get the service book and read it. I work on so much different stuff it's hard to keep up. I'm just doing a clutch on a 2006 Kia Rio for a customer. Your video was extremely helpful. I got it stripped down today I'm dropping the flywheel at the machine shop in the morning and I'll start putting it back together when the clutch arrives tomorrow. She had the car at a garage last week as the check engine light had come on they cleared the codes and told her it was going to cost thousands to replace sensors and the clutch job was going to be another couple thousand. She called another shop they told her it wasn't worth fixing, it was time to scrap it. She was driving it and it quit I told her tow it to my house. I had it running the next day bad crank sensor $190 and 10 minutes to change it. I test drove it for an hour other then the slipping clutch it runs beautiful, no codes. Now I'm putting a clutch in for her. Car is in excellent shape I can't see any reason why she wouldn't get several more years of service with it.
That's great, to be honest I hate it when Garages dont try fixing it. Anyway thanks for watching really appreciate it and I hope the video helped you out.
Love this, recently found your channel. No polished snap on boxes posed for the gram just straight grafting 😎 I'd love a timing belt video on the vag 1.6tdi's if you ever get on in
Thanks for watching really appreciate it. I think I have done one on a 2.0 tdi if you want to check that out, its pretty much the same I think. Anyway thanks again for watching
I literally just finished this job on my girlfriends 2014 kia rio. The subframe isn't the same so I just ended up dropping the arms and pulling the shafts and fucked the whole gearbox out the way. Hes defo right about the linkage just unbolt the mount and throw all of it to the side.
@david3599 I ended up removing the torque restrictor and the upper gearbox mount with the engine jacked up on the sump and a few cabin filters in-between to prevent dammage, and then slowly lowerd it so it was hanging on just the engine mount. I then raised the ramp and quickly put a gearbox jack underneath in place of the trolley jack to support the engine and gearbox. Alternatively, you can just use a gearbox jack or any other tall support on the sump and use a ladder to reach the upper gearbox mount if you don't wanna risk it for a biscuit.

I need to do this on a mk3. Did you need the engine support brace on the top or can it be done without it?

Thanks buddy, all is clear and understandable. By the way, what was the mileage? Interesting, how much is my clutch gonna last
Thanks for watching really appreciate it. To be honest I didn't see the mileage of the car
@@TEAMR4ULTV could be a sign of a bad clutch disk, a noise with only a released clutch on any gear?
Cut the Plastic ring off the Clutch Alignment Tool and then you can squeeze it in between the clutch and the input shaft to align the clutch.
Thanks for the info. Thanks for watching really appreciate it
What a bullshit job, fighting the transmission for 3 hours just to put it back on, would have done it 6 times over on a bmw
