Aurora wanted to concentrate more on the idea of 'godliness' of a woman and not so much on sexuality in her version of this song.
Did you notice that both Aurora and Silje (her backing singer) had lyric sheets in front of them? That's because this show gets artists to perform a cover with only an hour's notice of the song they will be covering!
Knowing Aurora, that could easily have been the first time she even heard the song!

The song was intended for Aurora. That's the concept of the radioshow. And since she doesn't sing what she doesn't stand for, she deletes lines from the song and sings "nanana" instead. So you can assume that under normal circumstances aurora would never have covered this song if it hadn't been part of this show.
At this particular place, the artist shows up and they have no idea what song they will be singing. They have one hour to come up with their version. I believe the parts that she vocalized over are just the verses she did not think fit the interpretation of her version. And it's not necessarily that she is too innocent or sweet, it's just her interpretation of it was different. I will give you an example of what I mean about her not being a prude or innocent. An interviewer casually asked her what she likes to do, and she said Cooking, painting, reading and masturbating. Yep, she is funny as hell in interviews. This girl has no filter. She's the most open and free human I've ever seen. But, for this song, I'm guessing she sees the lyrics differently. Aurora likes to make things her own. I actually really like this version (But, I also really like everything Aurora does, so it's hard for me to be unbiased here)
I saw that interview, it was hilarious. The two guys also asked if she had watched one of her own performances, (that had gotten almost seven million views). Aurora: Oh no, I have better things to do with my time...😎
She is definately not innocent or sweet with words (for anyone who heard "in bottles" or...). She simply did the coolest (self)sensorship anyone has done with a 60 minute clock ticking while learning and rearranging a song. (I always hear her sing "yada yada yada" of Seinfeld fame - trying to gloss over that fellow female artist have to describe how they like to be done as some bread-recipe printed on a bag, in my subconciousness). I totally agree with you, Aurora latched on to "God is a woman" as the core element, and disagreed with the notion that it has anything to do with the ability to make a boyfriend go momentarily cross-eyed.
That girl-power via sex idea is not a narrative us Norwegian boys are used to - even after watching American rom-coms since the 70s where it has been whipped to death for comedic effect - yadi yadi yadi. I adore Aurora for just casually humming it while showing off her musical prowess.

She often does this. If there's a part of the lyrics she feels doesn't fit her as a person, she just hums that part..lol Still a freakin' good rendition tho. Love from Norway :-)

Yes! I just love how you guys really "get" Aurora. This was one of the best reactions I've seen to this particular cover by her. Yes, you have only started to see how talented she is -- she's a singer/songwriter, musician, producer, arranger, dancer, artist and a really nice person! And She will be 25 in a few days.
If you all want to see more of her personality, do "All is soft inside" live from KEXP Iceland 2018.
She also does a fantastic piano cover of "Believer" from imagine Dragons and "Teardrop" from massive attack. Both really fabulous covers.

doesn't encapsulate the enormous amount of different genres that Angelina does but
what she does do can only be described as so uniquely enchanting that it truly boggles
the mind.

It was in a radio audition where artists has short time to make a cover (without knowing what song it will be). I think she removed these words on purpose, as they does not fit to her arrangement/interpretation :).

Aurora's version is very reminiscent of her in Frozen 2, an ethereal sort of god
On the show they get the song they are performing just like 3 hours before going on. That might be the reason for the "nanana", not sure tho ;)

AURORA is the greatest singer in the world period. AURORA's voice is very powerful in any range. AURORA did her best to turn a crappy pop song into something worthwhile. Her own songs are vastly superior to this.

Aurora wasn’t familiar with this song and when they gave it to her she had an hour to write her version. Chances are she cut out that part to make memorization easier in the time she had. Plus, the hums are so HER so they add to her performance.
