“It is precisely this tragic situation that Christian doctrine explains when it speaks of eternal damnation of hell. It is not a punishment imposed eternally by God, but a development of premises already set by people in this life.”
      - John Paul II, July 28, 1999
“Our Lady opened her hands once more as she had done the two previous months. The rays of light appeared to penetrate the earth and we saw, as it were, a sea of fire. Plunged in this fire, we saw the demons and souls of the damned. The latter were like transparent burning embers, all blackened and burnished bronze. Having human forms, there were floating about in that conflagration, now raised into the air by the flames that were issued within themselves, together with great clouds of smoke. Now they fell back on every side like sparks in huge fires without weight or equilibrium amid shrieks and groans of pain and despair, which horrified us and made us tremble with fright.
The demons were distinguished by the souls of the damned by their terrifying and repellant likeness to frightful, unknown animals, black and transparent like burning coals.”
      - Sister Lucia, 1917 apparition

John Paul II praised John Calvin as one who was trying to “make the Church more faithful to the will of the Lord.”
      - June 14, 1984
John Paul II said of Martin Luther: “Our world even today experiences his great impact on history.”
      - October, 1983
“But later, even more care was required when the Lutherans and Calvinists dared to oppose the changeless doctrine of the faith with an almost incredible variety of errors. They left no means untried to deceive the faithful with perverse explanations of the sacred books.”
      - Pope Gregory XVI, Encyclical, May 8, 1844

@@OrangeXenon54 "But now put you also all away: anger, indignation, malice, blasphemy, filthy speech out of your mouth."
      - Colossians 3:8
"Let no evil speech proceed from your mouth; but that which is good, to the edification of faith, that it may administer grace to the hearers."
      - Ephesians 4:29
"Let your speech be always in grace seasoned with salt: that you may know how you ought to answer every man."
      - Colossians 4:6
"Or obscenity, or foolish talking, or scurrility, which is to no purpose; but rather giving of thanks."
      - Ephesians 5:4
"Cursing, and lying, and killing, and theft, and adultery have overflowed, and blood hath touched blood."
      - Hosea 4:2
“We will cross this threshold with our martyrs, with all who have given their lives for the faith: Orthodox, Catholics, Anglicans, Protestants. The blood of martyrs has always been a seed which gives birth to new Christian faithful.”
      - John Paul II, Address to the Patriarch of Romania, May 8, 1999
“The experience of martyrdom joined Christians of different denominations of Romania. The Orthodox, Catholic and Protestants gave a united witness to Christ by the sacrifice of their lives.”
      - John Paul II, General Audience, May 12, 1999
“... no one, even if he has shed blood in the name of Christ, can be saved, unless he has remained in the bosom and unity of the Catholic Church.”
      - Pope Eugene IV, Council of Florence, ex cathedra
“Finally, some of these misguided people attempt to persuade themselves and others that men are not saved only in the Catholic religion, but that even heretics may attain eternal life.”
      - Pope Gregory XVI, Summo Iugiter Studio, No. 2, May 27, 1832

You Russians enslaved us Poles for centuries. Learn the failure of your culture, which had its church completely crushed by the communists, while the Poles used their Church to crush the Communists.

Thanks for sharing this. I just happened to be listening to Sir Roger Scruton talking about the Pope's visit to Poland in this video: ua-cam.com/video/1eD9RDTl6tM/v-deo.html and have an interest in tracking down what it was like to live for most people under hardline socialist governments...and this is a pretty good window into the level of control both in the media (not the reporting agency) and the self-censure of imposed cultural control.

It's just sad that the Poles didn't understand that they were removing the crusaders of Europe. When churches were being forcibly repurposed and religion was being suppressed it was the crusaders who were opening the churches again for the people
