    You can avoid a fight with nunchuks.How you may ask.
    First if a person starts threating you, do fancy spins with your nunchuks the person will be scared and he is going to leave.

    Bro you’re awesome, I really enjoy these videos, but can you show these techniques on a training dummy ( not me ), I think it would be more educational to actually see the hit, recovery and transitions. Im really interested man.

    • @SenseiDavid
      @SenseiDavid  4 роки тому

      so here is the thing with nunchucks... all of the flashy transitions are cool but from a practical point for real combat it’s more like swinging a bat or club so your correct there would be a recoil . so all the flashy transition are extra...

    • @SenseiDavid
      @SenseiDavid  4 роки тому

      to add what I said the most practical weapon to learn is a staff ... thing a broom stick, pole ect are available anywhere so it’s the most practical thing to learn for actual combat

    • @Baker11ification
      @Baker11ification 4 роки тому

      SenseiDavid I agree though thankfully I’ve never had to experience it. But I do think it would be beneficial to people who watch your awesome vids to know what to expect if you actually break out some nunchucks and decide to crack someone on the head. ..by expect, I don’t mean their reaction I mean what happens when you hit.

  • @mrc8041

    How would you advise using the nunchucks against someone wheedling a knife or something??

    • @SenseiDavid
      @SenseiDavid  4 роки тому +4

      I wouldn’t if you can avoid the confrontation ... avoid it! Nunchucks are not the most practical weapon... but if you had no choice obviously using the extra distance it gives it key and at least to either strike the hands to potential disarm the person or a distraction allowing you to exit or to trap the hand with the knife.

    im pretty good at controlling nunchuku not once in my life i got hit in the head since im 13 im already using wooden nunchuck its great you start with basic swing and focus on the control then go for the self defense if you become great in control

    Is it possible for a beginner to use a metal handle nunchucks?

    • @SenseiDavid

      of coarse, expect to get hit a few times but wood, metal.... the foam ones are just to avoid hurting yourself when you are new

    i wanted to ask I am at a beginer level with this I saw a video it seem to say there was a wrist control with the chucks as a single restraint bracelet I think I also saw a take down from both the wrist and the neck in some videos do you think its also possible to use it in anyway on an ankle thoughts please thank you

    • @SenseiDavid
      @SenseiDavid  3 роки тому

      Hey there, in theory it could be done in the same way you would do wrist control . Like anything the best way to know if something works is to test it out! Grab a towel or a Karate belt... make sure it’s the same size as the nunchucks and have some one kick and practice catching and locking the ankle with it...

    • @Fredengle
      @Fredengle 3 роки тому

      @@SenseiDavid well it looks like this person figured out how to do it ua-cam.com/video/KShb4ZlBLHg/v-deo.html

    • @SenseiDavid
      @SenseiDavid  3 роки тому +1

      @@Fredengle ehhhh...not really, You see I could have told you YES..it can be done. I play that game with my students using my belt to catch the punch or kick...but its not that easy. This Video, he is showing you a Theory on what could be done. the problem with allot of martial artist instructors is they THINK...it would work...So the only way to know is have someone kick at full speed and try to catch the leg. Everything is possible when its slow and the other guy is expecting it. For example...it is possible I do a Front flip and land a Axe kick on someones face as they are coming towards me..... VERY possible BUT the chance of it working is very slim.

    • @Fredengle
      @Fredengle 3 роки тому +1

      So your saying just because it works in a class room does not mean it would work in an actual defensive situation?

    I searched on the Internet:do metal nunchuks do more damage than wooden?The answer was wooden nunchuks do more damage.Is this true?

    • @SenseiDavid
      @SenseiDavid  4 роки тому +1

      hi Faton well I guess it would depend on the type of wood or metal. Some wood is heavier then say a hallow metal nunchucks. You don’t find metal nunchucks that are solid becuase it would be to heavy but I don’t believe the is a simple yes or no becuase it depends on the material... Maybe i should make a video and test it out!!
