Easily one of her best songs, if not THE best. What an incredible homage to Amy Lee - all while creating a strong, powerful image for themself. Halsey is one of the greats of our generation, and this record will absolutely stand the test of time.
@@condzg LMAO thanks!! If I ever had the time to really sit down and express my thoughts on every album I listen to, I'd totally start something up, but time is such a commodity anymore. Leaving little blurbs on UA-cam videos is enough for now lol
@wynonareign It was sold as an exclusive for 24 hours along with the other vevo performances. If you didn’t get a chance to buy it, I think there are people who made google drives with the audio files on them that you can upload to Spotify from the local files on your phone. I saw people posting links to the audio files on Twitter and the Halsey subreddit, which you can download and put on your Spotify. People did the same for the other bonus tracks like Lessons, Afraid of the Dark, etc. I hope this helps!
that is INTENSE. Musically and lyrically intense. The more I hear it the more I'm convinced, this is her sound, this is her best song ever as far as being compelling and having gravity, this is not light fare, this is heavy.
@@bodybloodsoulanddivinity the lyrics really do hit with authentic emotion. The paradox of loving a narcissist who treats you as an apparatus when you are the one with "platinum status".

This song for me is Halsey identifying herself as a muse, always inspiring others with ideas and interactions and experiences. The saying lonely is the muse exists because muses always do so much for others while, in this context, they themselves are beings who are codependent on others to give them purpose. Love how the song examines this dynamic

@@junedanieltamor9071 I love that album but that album doesn't have a single song that sounds like this. That was more industrial and experimental, this is very 2000s emo/alt/nu metal influenced. This is closer to something like Nightmare tonally, but much heavier.
I wish the whole album was this rock themed 😢😭😭😭😭 it’s still a great album I would just love to see Halsey do a full entire rock album like this it’s SOOO good!!!!
Love & Power had Easier than Lying, Nightmare, The Lighthouse, People Disappear Here, all arguably metal. But not the entire album. I’m satisfied with getting this song here though but I agree I want a full album of metal Halsey
her best song EASILY i’ve struggled with being alone a lot this year. this song came out right after my best friend of 11 years moved away, my best coworker friend quit, and with everything i’ve already been feeling this year climaxing when this song came out life was so intense. the sound of this song encapsulates the rage, pain and exhaustion i was feeling so spot on. i wish she would make more music that sounds like this
From beginning to end i had 'stank face' just from the way she's hitting them notes??? the SCREAMING??? the GRIT?? Oh Halsey, you will always be our muse 🖤🤍🖤🤍
I was expecting for the original notes in the released version, but when the second chorus dropped with you singing the harmonies... I got goosebumps all over my body like that switch conveys such a different hidden meaning for the song... The released version is more vengeful, angry whilst this is gloomy, still angry but acquiescent as if a siren that has lost all hope singing and captivating souls for one last time. incredible
can we talk about how insane it is that H literally sounds the same in the live performances as they do on the record. the best artist out there right now and im being dead serious
This new era halsey reminding me of old school paramore... maybe a little old school flyleaf... IM LOVING ITTTTT and im 35. Swear this woman is for every generation 🫶🏼💯
Yes!!! I know she made it clear that Evanescence was the inspiration but theres many other bands out there that LITM is closer too. She did fantastic regardless and it's my favourite genre she does. Her screaming 😭❤️❤️❤️
Perhaps I’m selfish for this but I really hope she releases an album rock, metal, alternative theme. I absolutely loved her work with on her last one! This song was absolutely full circle for me. A lot of musical memories flooded my mind as soon as heard this song. For me this song holds a lot of personal symbolism. Super grateful!
Damn this moved to tears. Her voice and these lyrics are dripping with venom and sarcasm and I feel her anger and feeling of powerlessness to someone else’s vision of you. Always so impressed with Halsey
Her doing an early 2000s punk/rock album would do insane numbers. Her vocal range has always been incredible but at the end... The transition from screams to singing goes wildly hard.
The creative body of work in all 5 albums of Halsey’s work is incredible - but this one is just insane. So grateful to exist in the same period of time as this
JESUS CHRIST AND ALL THAT IS HOLY. FUCK. This is aesthetically EVERYTHING, vocals are INSANITY, the cinematography is CRAZY WORK, the relaxation of such a chaotic song. I’ve loved this song since it came out but it’s solidified as my favorite Halsey song ever tied with easier than lying. Like THIS IS YOUR ELEMENT HALSEY!! This is your moment. This and the lighthouse are probably my favorite Halsey songs of all time. I’ve been a fan since 2016. She was my first concert. Watching her grow and evolve over time has been a pleasure and Halsey just keeps getting better and better. This song gives Deftones in the best way 🖤
I've been hyped for this for the past 5 or so days and it did not disappoint. Better than I expected. I am so impressed. Absolutely stunning, visually, vocally, and sonically. Gonna be re-watching this all day Edit: One month later and still re-watching
Could barely listen without feeling myself tear up... This song is just so devastating and raw and their vocals make it even more so... Halsey you're so amazing.
She has said so many times she doesn’t make music for the mainstream media, she makes stuff that comes from her soul and that the fans would love. I definitely feel like this genre is much more suited to her, especially the way she can pour her soul out so much more in these types of songs in my opinion. She could easily make an entire y2k, emo, punk metal album. It’s definitely something a lot of her fans (including me) has been waiting for and are dying for. She would also gain a whole new genre of fans as well, just like Demi did with holy fvck!
This is the Halsey I need more of. I Love you no matter what music style but this one screams to my heart the most. You won the prize with this one. I’m sorry was my other solid favorite..now this is first place. ❤
