I finally experienced this soundtrack in the game for the first time yesterday VERY badass and sets the mood for an Alien Tank bossfight perfectly wish it looped though
The Grays are a strange case, even more so than the Rozitals, the machine race. The latter are simply uncaring, but the Grays appear to be motivated by nothing but wanton cruelty, with no obvious gain for them. How such a race could ever have managed to ascend to the stars is beyond our understanding of the natural evolution of societies. Or is there perhaps a method to this madness? A reason for their presence beyond torturing innocents? Either way, they are here. And i fear peaceful discussions will be off the table.
As we've learned from the recent videos from Monique, Stolas is likely studying the greys and have sent Kel as a sacrificial lamb to draw them out. But what if the Greys are also studying something? What if the Greys are studying the demonic entities in Dunkeltaler? It kind-of makes sense to assume this to some degree IMO, as far as we know Dunkeltaler has two things going for it that would be of interest to extraterrestrial parties. 1: It's an isolated, commonly unvisited location. 2: The prevalence of abnormalities and aberrations commonly of an occult or demonic nature. If the Greys wanted to study the demonic entities of Dunkeltaler in particular, cruelty in general could draw them out. But if Stolas is headed by said demonic entities as the name suggests then each side may be staring at the other trying to study a possible enemy/obstacle. Dunkeltaler may be the site of an odd cold war, Poor Kel just found himself in the middle of it IMO.
@@plazmablade7329 im of the opinion that the "Them" referred to in the "i dont feel so good" video is you, the player. the one behind the screen. they want to draw out this mysterious force that nearly entirely overtakes people and grants them (what appears to be) precognition and an errant disregard for self preservation. Because tbh, the powers of saveload to someone inside the loop would certainly appear to be precognition. its not out of the question either since the player character in AEwVS had this as a concrete power, though if/how that and VotV are connected isnt clear to me
Don't get me wrong, this track is fitting for being attacked by a tank-like incinerator drone. It's one of the most intense encounters in the game. I just can't help but point out that, when you really think about it, the Greys are kind of pathetic in the grand scheme of things. Like I don't see them being a threat to anyone other than isolated humans such as Kel. The hoverboars, while dangerous if you happen to run into them while underequipped and/or on the brink of passing out, don't seem particularly problematic otherwise. Hell, unarmed Arirals will just immediately do a Mortal Kombat fatality on them and move on with their day. And while the incinerator drone is one of the more threatening things to actively hunt you down, I can't get over the fact that it can be outright destroyed by an IT twink with an improvised bludgeon. In the context of 'advanced alien combat technology'... that's pretty sad. To me, the Greys feel more like an introduction of things to come. Like there _will_ be threats in the future that you will have to actually confront rather than just wait out. And that's why, despite my low opinion of the Greys, this is a fitting track. This isn't some creeping unknown trying to stalk you, this is an obstacle that you're encouraged to directly overcome.
Doesnt really feel like the grays want to kill kel specifically, they want to lure him out of the forest and the fire tank was probably made to burn down the ariral camp
It almost feels like these weapons ARENT designed to be their full might in a way. They are a space fairing civilization after all, their technology should eclipse what we have today, which makes me believe rather than designing them to be fatal these are weapons are designed to instill fear
a game about searching space object, record the video and audio of it (most of the time... is pointless), and get cuddled with a rock by an alien cat girl that feeds you with their custard they made of only god knows what is it (alien cat girl milk???) the soundtrack of the game: *extremely brutal mechanical rock that's fire af*
Hey I just wanted to say that your music is absolutely amazing and really fits the vibe of the game. I hope they hire you for more and you continue the quality. This type of music really fits the feelings I get from the Gray faction.
Can't believe I'm only NOW finding you after like, 5 saves in votv. You've knocked the OST out of the park so far, hope to see more from you in the future!
The first time I saw this tank, I bought a radio, attached it to me, and just turned on the Gorebox Verse curse OST on the radio and listened to it, I attacked the tank with the mount, over and over again, then, remembering that the worst conditions for the tank are urban environment, I went to try to confuse it in a satellite dish, but he was too smart, and in the end I remembered that there are explosive barrels near the first transformer, and after hitting them with a mount a couple of times I took a propulsion cannon and threw it at him, he braked and I I was able to break both of his fuel containers by winning. and it was all with the player playing in the background of the verse curse ost, which I really liked, and I'm glad that now I don't have to do radio stuff and can just play.

Gee, it becomes increasingly amusing what Kel is forced to achieve with what seems to be the minimum.
my audible gasp when i realized a new votv soundtrack dropped
Technically 2 with the new ambience that plays whenever you cant pause/save
I can imagine this playing as the tank warms up and it definitely fits

Hints of machinery, hints of aggressive but silent manipulations of guitar rifts and the definite threat you are encountering. This is a masterpiece.

short answer - religion

It’s done in a very driven and intense way, it feels like not just danger in the form of a small event, but downright inevitable
