Thank you, Steve. I was struggling with the variacnes until I saw your video. I used your technique in my PM exam and I passed 77% :)
Glad it helped!
Dude saving life with this video's was stuck in Kappa yield
Very happy to help -- good luck next week!
After many days of struggling, I finally got it with your spreadsheet. It makes it sooo easy now to answer those mix and yield questions. Greetings from the Netherlands!
Glad it helped ☺️ good luck in September:)
I agree with your method much easier I find myself reciting AA AS SS, so it works
Glad to hear--good luck on PM!
Used this methodology on Q275 and yes it took afew tries but I eventually got it spot on!! Also noticed with sales it becomes negative for favourable and positive for adverse. The yield becomes the quantity contribution variance in this case
wow I was really struggling with this advanced variances but you broke it down very nicely. Can we also use this for labour effiency ratio's aswell?
Yes 100%
Hi Steve, just as a handy tip..If you click the arrow in the top left of the spreadsheet (between the A column and the 1 row), it will highlight the entire spreadsheet. If you then double click between the A and B, it will automatically resize every column to the required size. Save you clicking each column individually.
Great tip!
Very intuitive approach about the advanced variances. I really appreciate sharing this technique.
Glad it was helpful!
A lifesaver here!!
Eternally grateful for your efforts, Sir.
Happy to help :)
I attended one of your seminars sand OMG what an eye opener. I am sitting PM in June so I hope your tips will help give me a pass. Subscribed
Thanks! Glad it helped:)
Thank you Steve! This is the best explanation of the Mix and Yield variances. Finally I can follow the logic (AA
Excellent! Glad it makes sense now :)
Steve this made my yesterday's paper in variance be easy, I did like AA, AS, SS then next AA AqAmixSp, Aq SmixSp then SS. It was very perfect for me. Thanks much.
Excellent!
Did this type of variances came in your Sept exam? which other question was in section C. i am writing this December and watching Steve's videos non stop
I definately prefer your approach. :)
Glad it helps!
I am curious to know how this will be applied to Conrad co Acca PM exam
Thank You Sir.
Welcome!
Hi Steve, can we directly equate AqSp in place of AqAMixSp in the exam if we are required to calculate Usage Variances for each material? Are we expected to show the workings for AqAMixSp?
Hello, yes you can do that. Aq for each material is actually the "Actual quantity in the actual mix."
You should show workings to get partial credit if there is a mistake in your calcs.
Plus, it's easier to lay it all out step-by-step before you start working.
Good luck!
I love this method but in solving the question, do I need to calculate the usuage and the price to arrive at the final answer for the Mix and Yield ?
Hi there, if it's a stand-alone question on mix variance you can do it independently
@@SteveWillisACCA Thank you very much. Few practice and I have conquered this formula. God bless you for all you do
Hi sir, can you do a video about planning and operational variance?
Hey there, yes, I plan a full series on variance analysis.
@@SteveWillisACCA ahh thank you so much, it will be very helpful :)
Hi sir, will this formula work for labour rate or labour efficiency variance or salex mix and quantity variance?
Which formula do you mean? AA AS SS? This works for all the variable cost variances: Labour, Materials, Var. OH--if I understand your question correctly.
@@SteveWillisACCA thank you sir much appreciated
Thanks Sir . Do you have any videos on Decision Trees?
What a great idea! I'll do one these days.
@@SteveWillisACCA Thank you. Great webinar this morning...
Done :) check the PM playlist for a decision tree question.
Sir how did you copy-paste
I.e copying usage and deriving price variance?
Hi Sourav, copy/paste works the same in CBE as it does in Windows--control C, control V.
@@SteveWillisACCA okay sir Thank you 👍
SIr can u please tell me what is the affect of loss of material on variance ?
Loss of material during the process, i.e. waste, would impact the yield variance. The mix variance only looks at the ratio of the inputs.
@@SteveWillisACCA thanks alot
Can u please tell me how take calculate this impact in yied variance like we have question in kaplan kit on this but i dont understand hiw we calculate the column in which we take impact of this loss means how to calculate figures in that loss.......is it just like we should calculate every figure in that by applying percentage or just applying to total
Hi Sir! Should we label our work with kg and $ sign. Will we lose mark if we don't input those sign?
In PM if the markers understand your work you get the credit, irrespective of labeling. But for FM if it's an fx question and you didn't state the currency, you wouldn't get the credit
Thank you so much for clarifying this for me Sir
My pleasure :)
Sir, can you do sales variance and advance variance asap
Yes, I plan to do a full series on variance analysis this month.
@@SteveWillisACCA Sir, I’ll be waiting for it. Hope to hear from you soon, sir. Really appreciate it.
SIr, how are you doing? Hope to hear from you. I’m stuck to the sales variance and advance variance. The method for Total Material variance was superb. It has more saving time. Hope to hear from you soon.
Hi sir, when will you be sharing sales variance and advance variance?
Steve do you have a donation box
Hi Bevan, glad the video was helpful. I don't have a donation box, but maybe I'll make one. Good luck tomorrow!
@@SteveWillisACCA Thank you so much you have been a life saver!
@@MyDumbdumbdumb glad it helped--let me know if you pass! Good luck!
