I recently picked up the Pico breakout leads. Awesome kit!

Hm ... I'm suspicious that this test going to tell you that your regulator is good or bad . This is just checking the control of the ECU . If the valve have some minor wear inside , you will be not able to catch it with this test , in my opinion ofc .

      You are perfectly right !!!

Hi Crank, you are correct that we are primarily checking the actuator control signal from the ECU.
However, the ECU has feedback from the rail pressure sensor so if the regulator is heading out of tolerance (mechanically or electrically) the ECU will see that it will have adjust the duty cycle for the rail to reach the desired pressure. Therefore if the duty cycle is above or below the normal % for a given set of operating conditions then you will know that the regulator could be faulty. Note this does not rule out an issue with the high pressure pump or inlet metering valve or low pressure fuel systems. As such, when you are happy with how to measure these components separately then you can start to look at their combined behaviour using multi-channel measurements, which will give you a greater insight into how the entire system is responding to a possible fault.
Also, it is useful to check the actual PWM duty against the expected PWM duty (as read from the ECU by a scan tool). A difference will tell you that you have a control problem.
      Hope that helps.

Do you know the voltage for the pressure regulator? I can messure 8V on my crafter. wonder if its too low.?
