It's not a hole it's called a dimple. Some have one or two. They are fancy colors because they are implanted (seeded) when farmed. It's how they can get all the cool colors. It's a neat process and takes five years for the pearl to form they are at times just as valuable but need to be classed I believe don't quote me lol and generally have the smooth round finish where as natural formed ones don't they are odd shaped. I was genuinely skeptical as well with all the beautiful colors (not only on her video but other oyster openers as well) so I looked up the process. Some even are able to do shapes like crosses and stars.

Check, cut open the beefy part of the oyster sometimes there are pearls inside that you can't feel really well because the oyster is a little dried out. Scratch the edge off the opening of the shell with your knife to open more easily.

When you open the bigger shells and find the pearls in the periphree then cut the body as well because the biggest pool of pearls resides there.

They are farmed. People will have nets and grow oysters, they have a process where they can make sure an oyster grows a pearl, and for the fan shaped shells they take a pearl, dye it a bright color and put it inside!
