- MGP served up pure quality again this year. We are super impressed (and a little surprised) that Gåte was selected-we think they bring a unique and wonderfully intense offering to the Eurovision platform! (KEiiNO were also fabulous in the final.)

The people voted for Gåte, so it was good thing that they won. I think Norwegians would be very outraged if foreign juries, who voted for Keiino, had prevented us from sending Gåte to Eurovision. We love Keiino, but this time they had to see themselves lost for a song that struck the core of Norwegians' hearts.

I was at the final and cannot explain how Gåte lifted us up into a magical dark universe, where emotions, pride and primal belonging to our history did to us all. We are so grateful that you out there in the world see our Nordic soul coming from the depths of our hearts through this song to Gåte. Thank you for the wonderful reactions, we are looking forward to Malmö in May!

her vocals are absolutely insane and the live show is so captivating. as a rock/folk enjoyer this shot to my #1 of the whole year, i can't see how this can be topped for me.

Norwegian here! Didnt love this when I first heared this, but its growing on me. And the ESC is a song contest (even thow we all know its a show contest). Her vocals are extraordinary. The transitions between head voice and chest voice are immaculate. And I love me some ethnic/folklore vibes. Im glad Norway (representing old Norwegian folk style) sent this one to Europe.
Since you're clearly knowledgeable about singing, I'm curious what you think of Alexandra Rotan's vocals in comparison? She's very good too, but is she better or not? While the right song probably won, I think I personally prefer Alexandra's style. She has such a sweetness to her voice.

Gåte = Riddle, Ulveham = Wolf skinwalker. The song is about a girl who was cursed by her stepmother to live in the forest as a wolf. One day she sees her stepmother in the woods and eats her, and she was pregnant, so as she drinks her brother’s blood, the curse is lifted.
Gåte are amazing and i knew they would win when i heard they had entered Eurovision. Keiinos song was just not good enough and did not speak to the soul.
Hope Estonia and Finland are doing the same thing in their national final. 🎉

I dont like Norway song Ulveham from Gåte . Horrible lyric and to mutch screaming . Many people are not aware of what she actually sings, which in my opinion is a cruel text from the old days. And i am from Norway ! The text copied from newspaper about the song.
She summarizes "Ulveham", based on an old medieval ballad, as the story of an evil stepmother who casts a curse on her stepdaughter - who turns into a wolf running in the forest forever. She only loses her wolf's hide if she drinks her own brother's blood.
"There will be a kind of happy - but cruel - ending when she meets the stepmother on horseback in the forest, throws herself at her, rips out her heart and drinks the blood. Because the stepmother is pregnant with her brother - thereby the curse is lifted.
The worst song of all who participated in the Norwegian MGP.! almost like listen to Opera (horror music.!)
