I love my old RS-5. Still sounds great to me. Sorry if this is naive - but what’s the best way to archive my RS-5 patches to my pc?. Any good software and cable recommendations let me know. I need to do that - then send it into the shop for a good overhaul as some of its buttons are starting to fail. The keyboard and all else still work perfectly. I want to keep it in my studio. It’s generally built vert well and has served me well over the years. 👍
Hm I’ve never tried that. I believe there are several “librarian” freewares out there, so I guess all you’d need in theory is the midi>USB converter cable.
Anyone wants to know the output uses a 24bit D/A converter. That's good for the time. I'm not sure if the processing is also 24bit though. I have an old BOSS VF-1 from the same era that's 24bit so maybe.
The header says..."and direct recording." I didn't see anything about recording??? Trying to figure out if I can use this machine to link to some kind of looper and create backgrounds over which I can compose. Any ideas. Yes, I'm not a techno person.
you can record any synth via a looper pedal, like a guitar. What I do is linking my synths trough a mixing paneland take the output of that to a Focusrite or other USB interface (mine is a stienberg MKII) and record it on my pc with a DAW like cubase. I personally use Magix samplitude music studio. this works fine for me and is affortable.
I hear what you're saying. I think the main differences are the screen (Larger on the G) and the lack of recording/sampling. The Juno G has a multi track recorder/sampler built into it.
@@gearfacts thanks for the response I got that g.a.s. and anytime I see cheap gear I wanna hop on it thanks for your time looking forward to more content
@@gearfacts At current prices the Korg Triton is twice as much. I do hear you on the Triton, the RS-5 does offer a lot at the current $250 -$25o, however basic Midi controllers cost that much, and this does have arps, splits, 16 channels, and certainly a lot of usable sounds for in the studio. Guess you could say that about any synth, but I am a fan of the RS-5.
This was the last entry-level synth by Roland that had a MIDI "Thru" jack.
I believe so. Never used it myself... Gearfacts
I think this also has the GS sounds as well
I’ve done that sound he makes at 00:15 myself lol

I'd just google up the manual and look at the specs section. The answer should be there.
Cómo hago para cambiar las funciones de los pedales?

Alguien puede ser tan amable de ayudarme a usar los multiefectos?? ;(
Do uou know how to change the tempo on this machine ??
It's gone now, ZR, but if you google it I'm sure the answer will come easily :) GF
Is this essentially the same as the juno g? Buttons and interface look pretty close

@@legitimatefrenzy Thanks Wilson. Yeah I think my channel is right for ppl with GAS
More so the Juno D
Help! I dont know how to make it cooperate! It dosent want to connect to FL Studio 20
Gotta get the midi to usb cable
I've had the successor to the RS-5. The sounds are nice, but so thin, they can't be heard on stage. So as a performance synth it's useless.
Yes I chose the Jorge triton over it. Gearfacts
