"Someone in the Dark" is a song by Michael from 1982, which he had recorded for the movie "E.T." Steven Spielberg, however, took the song from the final version of the film.
Michael also recorded "E.T." as an audio book for children in 1982. "Someone in the Dark" was played at the beginning and end of the audio book. The audio book received a Grammy in 1984, as you saw.

Only people that lived through the 80s know how absolutely biblically huge he was. I have the benefit of living through it and comparing it to today's artists they're not even 10% of his impact and fame. The man was exceptional.

I wasn't even a fan then but I still remember he was absolutely the most famous and popular being on the entire planet. And he earned it. When media tries to crown a 'new king of pop' in timberlaker, beiber, styles, none of them had to work as hard as he did and break racial barriers. As Bruno Mars, when he too was being called 'new king of pop', rejected it saying "There will never be another king of pop, prince of pop, or any other title with the word pop in it. Michael owns them all. He will forever be the man that turned music into magic. From videos to fashion to his ground breaking performances, everyone can learn from Michael about dedicating your life to something and constantly striving to be great. Thank you Michael for showing the world what greatness looks like. Happy Birthday"

@@carn9507 yeh but a lot of new artists LOVE the comparisons but will never admit it. Most artists these days don't even have a trademark exclusive to them, so how do they expect to be 'icons' or 'legends' lmao. MJ had it all, dance, vocals, image, fashion...everything he has was exclusive to him. A silhouette of MJ in his fedora is more recognisable and iconic than everyone's careers these days. Reporters and interviewers used to lose it in front of him.

There is something I find very interesting about some extraordinarily talented performers like MJ. They are rather shy and at times introverted but when the music starts and they begin to perform it’s like a light is turned on and they come to life and dazzle us. It makes me think of a current Japanese figure skater named Shoma Uno who is very shy and keeps to himself, playing video games. When he gets on the ice though this beautiful artist comes to life. Art is often a way that shy people can express themselves when it’s uncomfortable for them to speak.

    • @carn9507
      @carn9507 Рік тому +2

Happens with actors too. Christopher Lloyd is well known for playing wacky characters, most famously Doc Brown, Judge Doom and Uncle Fester but is quite reserved and shy when being himself. He's gotten a bit more confident about himself in recent times but yeah he's spoken about a 1990 interview on the british talk show Wogan, where he was extremely shy and his BttF3 co-star Mary Steenburgen had to do most of the talking to Terry Wogan. As an amateur actor myself I'm very much the same. I'm awkward and shy as myself (I'm also autistic so that's also a thing) but up on stage, with all my lines and actions rehearsed and know what is expected of me I'm very loud and bold and appear way more confident than I ever do as myself. :)

MJ’s main idols that every Moonwalker/MJ fan should know are 1) James Brown 2) Jackie Wilson 3) Fred Astaire & 4) Sammy Davis Jr. (And you do have honorable mentions like Gene Kelly,The Nicholas Brothers etc. but those are his main influences and yes MJ did get burnt on January 27th 1984 so yes before this award ceremony and you have to React to Year In Review’s from “The Detail” it’s like a summary of that entire year so it is very helpful to give you a better understanding how MJ impacted/influenced culture, also the E.T. thing you speak of I told you about in a past reaction nobody has React to it please do it it’s a Storybook that came out shortly after the same year as Thriller which was a dispute between MJ & his record label should it come out before or after Thriller turned out to be a huge success but if you wanna know MJ’s involvement he narrates the actual storyline of E.T. in book form and it’s wonderful MJ was a man of many traits, also he has two songs attached to it that’s underrated titled “Someone In The Dark” it’s two versions of it the (Opening) & (Closing) also I wouldn’t say MJ’s feminine at all but he’s eccentric not from of this world those Bambi eyes always get me and I’m a grown ass man lol MJ is so mesmerizing👑💯

She had a moderate successful music career between the 80s and 90s. Her first single Centipede (written and produced by Michael) was certified gold. ✅

(6:38) "He goes in for a handshake. Michael's like, 'No.' He goes in for a hug. That is the kind of guy that Michael Jackson is. I love these little moments that most people wouldn't even think of. That just shows what kind of person he was. He loves everybody. I'm not a handshake kinda guy. I'm a hugger. I love that. It was beautiful." I do too. And if I ever met you, there's no way you'd get a handshake. I'd give you the warmest hug. And I might never let go.
(16:27) "He's cute. Whoever he is, he's cute." That's Emmanuel Lewis. He starred on an 80s TV show called WEBSTER.
(16:34) "I've got to say. Why are there condoms on the bloody wall? Whose design choice was that? What can we have? Oh, we can have cute little condoms on the wall?" Oh, this made me laugh!
(18:14) "Do you know, I've only just noticed but Michael is definitely effeminate. Like feminine, like looking. It's only just really like hit me because he looks like his sisters, man! Where the rest of his brothers don't really look like that." Totally, especially after the facial plastic surgeries. Made him look beautiful. And yes, feminine.
(21:29) Here's another Seph blooper that was left in. You are dancing when we hear something fall to the floor. You stop and say, "Cut...continue." I assume you meant to edit that part out, but forgot. I love it!

With the Grammys, he won 8 more awards for the Thriller album (8 at the AMAs and 8 at the Grammys so 16). He was nominated in 12 categories here. This was held about a month after the AMAs. The AMAs were held on January 16, 1984, the Grammys were held on February 28, 1984 and Michael's hair caught on fire on January 27, 1984 so that terrible event had already happened here and 11 days after the AMAs. That night Michael became the first artist to win 8 Grammys in one night, a feat that has only been tied in 2000 when Santana won 8 Grammys too.
Here's everything Michael won that night:
1- Record of the Year - "Beat It"
2- Album of the Year - "Thriller"
3- Best Male R&B Vocal Performance - "Billie Jean"
4- Best Male Rock Vocal Performance - "Beat It"
5- Best Male Rock Vocal Performance - "Thriller"
6- Best Male Rock Vocal Performance - "Billie Jean"
    7- Best R&B Song - "Billie Jean"
    8- Best Recording Package - "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial".
And yes, Michael and Janet look a lot alike. The third sister is Rebbie, the eldest of the Jackson siblings. Love your videos Seph🔥❤️‍🔥

This is crazy that this came out a month after the accident, he had to be on painkillers. The accident sparked his dependence on drugs later in life. Also this is year Michael did the Victory tour with his brothers, which was huge. Michael pointed to his brother Jermaine who doubted his album would’ve become the biggest ever.

    • @carn9507
      @carn9507 Рік тому +7

yeah, painkillers not just for the burns themselves but the multiple surgeries to treat the burns that took place over many years. The procedure involved fluid filled balloons that were inserted under the remaining scalp to try stretch the skin over the burnt off part. Deeply unpleasant and one reason he didn't like people touching his head.

@@carn9507Yeah he had another surgery during this year. I don’t know when he was diagnosed with lupus, but he wasn’t healing properly and it was affecting his vocals, so he went through with another one. I love how Michael took the jokes from comedians later on, like Eddie Griffin, who he said he must’ve high to f$ck up his face like that, which Eddie said he confirmed when they met. Michael loved when treated as human, he wasn’t as soft as the media portrayed him, which was an image he created. He was amazing business man and pissed off a lot of Hollywood because he wasn’t meant to be that’s big. He softened his blackness kinda, then went full black militant in the 90s.

He won all those that year, then won none of his nominations for Bad at the 1988 Grammys supposedly because they wanted to 'teach him a lesson' (and the media had already begun to turn on him, particularly the British tabloids here who started the racist 'wacko jacko' stuff after he bought the huge catalogue that included all the Beatles tracks. Jacko being old slang for monkey and named after a fighting monkey known as Jacco Macacco, and also the name of Jacko monkey dolls, a popular toy here in the 60s, 70s and 80s). By the way ain't it weird how Mike was mocked for having a pet chimp (Bubbles, who was well looked after and still alive to this day at the Center for Great Apes) but you never hear jokes about Elvis and his chimp Scatter than he treated poorly, allowed to get drunk, molest girls and was killed, apparently by one of Elvis' maids the chimp had attacked. Only funny when the black guy owns a chimp, not the white guy?
Anyways he still ended up stealing that entire 1988 Grammys show with his fantastic performance of The Way You Make Me Feel and Man in the Mirror.

@@SephPlays Yeah and just today there's been news that proven frauds Robson and Safechuck can try YET AGAIN to leech millions of dollars they want, despite their 'documentary' containing over 60 lies and written/directed by a total creep called Dan Reed who has said some hugely disturbing things himself which should make him get investigated. These guys change their stories after each phoney lawsuit. Their 'documentary' doesn't match their previous attempts and their current attempt doesn't match their 'documentary'. They've developed an entire multiverse themselves with all their multiple contradictory timelines (which even their Lionel Hutz-like lawyer Vince Finaldi, has trouble remembering and mixed some of them up in court). As a genuine abuse survivor myself who researched the allegations a few years after noticing issues in their film myself, it's supremely frustrating how the media seems to badly to want to make these guys legit when all evidence exposed their scams, while so many real victims never get heard and so many real monsters in the music industry (particularly white rock stars who brag and have even sung songs about their vile acts, such as Anthony Kiedis, Steven Tyler, Iggy Pop, Jimmy Page etc) have never faced consequences. Remember Rolling Stones Bill Wyman, being 47 and 'dating' a 13 yr old Mandy Smith... IN PUBLIC... She then married him when she was 18 and he was well into his 50s and some media described it as a 'fairy tale wedding'. What the heck?!

sorry i was studying so this is a bit late comment...
Here is some answers to your questions
    1) yeah , that period Michael was happy according to what happened during all his life . He is a man with a heart of gold so innocent so pure and he never gave himself the credit even in his next years u will see that he express his anger only in his songs or legally but he won't say negative things .
    2) about the burn , it was only few days before this ceremony and was wearing wigs in that as far as i remember and he was in pain and as a doctor i can tell u the skull pain is terrible and unbearable at all so he started his pain medication but was under control that time and all u can see his beautiful smile.
    3) janet his youngest sister , she is 8 years younger than him and they were so close to eachother among their siblings and yeah they very much look alike even that was a stupid rumour that say that both of them are the same person 😂😂 . Rebbie was the oldest one and her music career wasn't as much as his siblings.
    4) when he mentioned his brother Jermaine it was a brotherly funny side as his brother wasn't sooo sure of the success of the album but they love eachother after all 😂
    5) when he took off his glasses it actually was a hard time for him as he quoted " when u let someone to see your eyes, you let him to see your soul and I don't want anyone to see my soul as there is a lot of sadness in them " as i mentioned before that this period was happy but not to mention that he was alone letterly so many times he would put his disguise and walk in the street at night to talk to anyone but it wouldn't work .

This video is owned by "Grammys" they don't allow us in the UK to use their footage at all :(
I'm so sorry but it was either blur it out or not upload it at all :(

Michael has 3 sisters and 5 brothers. Yes his personality was very nice 👍. Mostly people said he was looking like her younger sister Janet because Michael had plastic surgery on his nose many times that's why he started looking like Janet after that nose surgery. He wanted to look like feminine because he wanted to impress all types of fans like girls and boys. But he broke his nose and did plastic surgery on it because he wanted to hit high notes also. So there were many reasons to do nose surgery. And i love his dress style here he is looking like a King here ❤. He was a fashion icon in his time also. Yeah he had a lovely humble nature and he hugged all the people in his life.

@@SephPlays Oh sorry. Didn't know that. Yeah it doesn't make any sense 😕. Anyway there's a video called "The tragic aftermath of Michael Jackson's Pepsi burns injury | The detail." It would be very interesting to see you react to this as it turned out to be a huge turn for Michael's life. Love your reactions!
