    This thing is way better than the Dyson alternative I was using. I like that it can pick up bigger things instead of pushing them around

    Bought 3 days ago because of this video (and after watching about 20 of your videos) and have to say that I am (and the missus is) in love with this machine

    • @wesgleeson
      @wesgleeson 3 роки тому +2

      It lasted 14 months.
      Twice per week usage, cleaning a 50sqm apartment. Now it goes from "fully charged" to dead in less than one minute on normal speed. Replacing the battery costs way too much and it's out of the 1-year warranty so it's a write-off. Seems like many people have had this problem, not just me. Next stop, Dyson

  • @jeremyb9835

    Great review. The F8 looks very space age and performs very well. Love the fact it has a sealed system. 👌

  • @wesgleeson
    @wesgleeson 3 роки тому +4

    The battery lasts a year and then you need to throw the whole thing away.
    Also, there are 3 hard plastic "wheels" on the bottom of the roller extension that (at first) are covered with a soft laminate. This laminate soon wears off and then the solid edged plastic wheels will scratch your parquet (when they're not matted with hair).
    In short, cheap and nasty business. Buy nice, or you will buy twice. I've learned the hard way.

      I forgot mention, there is a V8 Dyson Carbon Fiber with 155AW vs 115AW V8 even cheaper price, but must be imported from Malaysia or some South Asian countries, but the warranty policy from the Chinese seller did not cover the battery.

    One aspect that you may want to consider testing is how much dirt stays in the bin and how much goes to the filter after usage. You can have the most powerful vacuum in the world but if the filter clogs up, the power will diminish. The Dyson does this very well, with the filter almost as new after repeated usage. How was it with the Roidmi?

    • @VacuumWars

    Hi! I have had this vacuum cleaner for almost 2 weeks now and I absolutely love it on my hardwood floors. I basically use it on medium power but when I activate the turbo suction it stops after five seconds and I can’t activate it again unless I turn the machine off and on again. I have emptied the dust bin from the top and cleaned it but the problem continues. Could you help? Thanks in advance!

  • @Josue928
    @Josue928 6 років тому +7

    You keep saying budget vac, so I thought this vacuum must be inexpensive. Checked on gearbest and nope, it is $350 before a coupon. Much better option is to buy a v7 or a shark ion for the price. Shark ion is currently $150 at Sam's.

    • @VacuumWars
      @VacuumWars  6 років тому +5

      I did mention the term budget vac a few times in comparison, but I don't consider this a budget vac but rather a premium, that's why I said it was the cheapest of the premium vacs toward the end.

  • @arevee9429
    @arevee9429 6 років тому +2

    Nice, but too bad about the tiny dust bin. I have 3 dogs, so those bins fill fast. But worse than the dog hair is one super-long wool rug - it's a vacuum choker.
    That extra bit of flex hose looks useful. It's not powered, is it? Would you say the bin is easy to take apart for deep cleaning?
    Gotta say, this one is tempting. Maybe if it stays upstairs away from the vacuum choking flokati rug.

    • @VacuumWars
      @VacuumWars  6 років тому +1

      Yeah the small dust bin is a bit of an issue. No the hose thingy isnt powered, I was thinking it would be cool if it was, you could plug the pet tool to it and stairs and upholstery would be a breeze.

    Nice review but you forgot about the service xiaomi provide is one of the worse in the world I bought a xiaomi roidmi f8, after a year my battery drains for me that is ok its normal, if they only got a service center that will repair it, or they would sell me a spare battery, but no, I bought my unit online so local service centers here don’t want to accept my unit for repair because it wasn’t bought from them, even if I am willing to pay for the service. So I tried contacting xiaomi global if they would sell me spare battery instead so that I could replace it myself but they don’t sell the batteries they told me to send the unit to them in which they are located in HK or China and they will be the one to repair it, well if I did send them my unit I might as well buy a new one because of the shipping fee would cost more than a new one plus I need to pay for their service. So as a user I regret buying this xiaomi f8, its like i bought a disposable vacuum cleaner. For me this thing is not comparable to dyson so don’t be fooled. If I can do it all over again I would have never bought this xiaomi f8 or any xiaomi products.

    From the perspective of the Indian market, the Roidmi is a clear winner. It's priced at INR 21,000 (direct dealer price). The soft roller is sold separately and costs INR 2,000. In total, it comes up to INR 23,000.
    On the other hand, the Dyson V7 goes for INR 27,000. The soft roller is sold separately and costs INR 3,500. However, it has been out of stock since November 2020. Every other accessory is in stock except the soft roller. I suspect Dyson is doing this to discourage Indian consumers from buying the cheaper variant and instead buy the V8, which comes with a soft roller as standard offering. However, it's priced at INR 39,900.
    Just to give more context, the average white collar professional in the largest Indian city, Mumbai, makes between INR 50,000 to INR 70,000 a month.
    I wrote to Dyson explaining the pricing issue and quizzed them on non-availability of the soft roller. But I received a generic corporate response which was a thinly veiled sales pitch for the V8.
    I seriously don't understand why vacuum makers offer the carpet brush as standard in India, where almost no apartment or house has a fitted carpet.
    Finally, @Vacuum wars, could you elaborate on the after sales service provided by Xiaomi (Roidmi)? I ask because the battery will wear out some day. In that case, does the company offer a replacement? I spoke with the Roidmi techs here but they didn't have an answer.

      @QUINSYlarynx 2 роки тому

      @@Rosanjo9 over a period of a year, I noticed a reduction of a few minutes in its backup. I don't think that's significant. As for filters, you don't have to wash them. In fact, none of the components should be wet cleaned. The kit comes with 2 hepa filters. 1 hepa filter lasts 6-8 months after which you need to replace it. I think that's not a whole lot of expense. The attachments don't wear out. The pile on the hard floor brush is still functional enough to pick up dirt and dust. I vaccum almost everyday. Overall, I am totally happy with this. We got rid of the cleaning lady and we don't have to vaccum and mop everyday. The F8 storm does a great job. Fyi, I bought it for inr 23,000 last year.
