Just listening to this makes me wanna watch the entire dexter serial all over again..mann what a composition this is..I am never gonna be able to forget Daniel Licht..
I’m sure everyone will disagree, but Season 5 is my favorite of the bunch. Seeing Dexter cope with the loss is interesting, I really sympathized with Lumen and her plight, and it was neat to have a whole group of baddies they had to deal with. Plus I like Deb’s storyline throughout, one of my favorites of hers. 4 is arguably the peak, and Trinity is a worthy foe, plus the finale was crazy. 1 is gonna tie with 4 as most people’s favorite, and it’s great. It introduced us to Dexter and Brian will always be special. 3 has the dynamic between Dexter and Miguel, which I actually quite like. Plus the Skinner is cool, and I liked Dexter’s marriage to Rita. Also a big season for Debra. 2 has some good stuff, Lundy is cool, and the end with Doakes discovering Dexter’s secret was cool, but I didn’t really like Lila or how Dexter acted with her, and it’s Rita’s most annoying season, albeit for a good reason as Dexter acts pretty stupid. 7 was fairly forgettable, even now I can’t recall much beyond the first few episodes of Debra dealing with her discovery. I don’t really like Hannah here, but the crazy Speltzer guy was kind of cool, as was Dexter teaming up with Izak. 8 is probably the one the most people hate, but I actually liked it. Deb’s struggle to come to terms with what she’s done, Hannah is much better here, I actually see here why Dexter is in love with her. For a final antagonist, Oliver Saxon isn’t bad. Things didn’t turn out well for Dexter, but it’s kinda his fault. That said, just because it didn’t end the way some people wanted, they hated it. 6 is my least favorite. I really don’t like Travis Marshall or his cronies. The twist with him being the mastermind is interesting, but it really loses me after. Those are my rankings. If anyone else has opinions I welcome them, and I can’t wait for the revival. This is my favorite show.

Brian's return in the Nebraska episode in 5 also made for a decent reason why I wanted him around more. He's Harry's opposite. He could have been the demon to Harry's angel on Dexter's shoulders. Initially, I liked Lila until she did what she did to Angel in Season 2. Rita was peak annoying this season too (lol), but it's understandable considering she misunderstood Dexter's 'secret.' Doakes and Lundy were such delightful detractors to Dexter's agendas, and this season transitioned well from season 1 as well as having a good finale. Controversially, I like Season 5 more than 4 because sometimes, 4 is overbearing and dragged out to me. I also agree with your thoughts on how Dexter coped with his loss. It also introduced an interesting way to tackle a new season by hunting down a group rather than just one person as antagonist. My mild issue with this season was the change in Debra's speech mannerisms. I thought I was just imagining things since Dexter had to deal with Rita's passing and that's why she talks like that, but even after Dexter was okay, Debra sounded a bit awkward to me. I'm of the minority where 4 wasn't exactly my favourite even though it's a really good season. Maybe it's because of the side character stories being forgettable, or Arthur's daughter not being all that impactful to me, idk. I equally like both 3 and 7, though maybe more on 3. This season introduced what could have been if Dexter had someone who accepts him for who he is. Unfortunately, they really didn't see eye to eye and life moves on. For one of them, at least. It's compelling. For once, I actually care about LaGuerta a bit in this season (lol). 7 is personally good because of Debra's discovery of Dexter's true nature, as well as having a likeable antagonist since Trinity in the form of Isaak. Though, I do admit that I didn't really care much for him until halfway through the season. I also liked its finale as it went full circle with the first book's ending of LaGuerta. I like season 8's concept, but not so much the way it went. I also like Hannah more this season. The idea that someone co-founded Harry's Code and is still alive to acquaint with Dexter was a cool idea. As well as the thought of Dexter having a disciple. That kid was decent. 6 is also my least favourite season. Probably because it reminded me of the third Dexter book where the Dark Passenger was revealed to be a supernatural identity that made Dexter want to kill. :') This was the season I skipped on the most even though it had a good idea for the antagonist - recreating the Book of Revelations and all. Tl;dr - from most favourite seasons to least: 1, 2, 5, 4, 3, 7, 8, 6. If I were to include Dexter: New Blood (9?), then the ranking would be: 1, 2, 5, 4, 3, 7, 9, 8, 6 9 had such a good story and it absolutely reignited my love for Dexter as a character and as a show. I always tell myself that some of the Dexter seasons are better off having just 10 episodes, but New Blood was the opposite. It needed more episodes due to the pacing of the last episode. I personally liked the ending. I liked the last exchange between Dexter and Harrison. And I understand why Dexter has become such a person, and I'm perfectly fine with him ending up like that. It's just... mostly the pacing issue for me and some minute details. Idk. Maybe I'm in denial even though I accept how things went lmaoooo.
