I worked as a social worker in hospice m. What I recommend is to get the spy cameras which are available on iOS or android and have ur family or a liscenced “provider, inspector etc” to see if the patient is not being abused. In the USA if someone is not able to provide for themselves there are agencies who take care of ur finances.

2014, I was diagnosed with Degenerative Brain Disease. My father died in 2014. A cranial autopsy revealed frontal temporal dementia. My mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2015. My older brother and sister are having cognitive difficulties. January 2022, I went on Ketogenic diet, ate one 2k calorie meal per day (meat, fish, eggs, non-starch vegetables) over 4 hours, fasted 20 hours a day, walked 8 miles every other day. October 2022, lost 73 lbs, got off 7 medications I had been on for 20+ years and had best blood test results ever. Two years 9 months later, I still follow the same lifestyle. I’m doing so much better cognitively. Alzheimer’s/Dementia is now considered type 3 diabetes. Consider changing what you eat and your level of exercise as a potential defense against diseases.

Well done discovering and persevering. I have found a source of fresh cold pressed flaxseed oil with an excellent Omega 3 to 6 ratio. It is one of the best value oils I have found. Understanding the Western style diet, including Thai food, is very heavy on Omega 6 the principle is to balance it with increased Omega 3, which reduces inflammation, which as you clearly understand is the basis of much disease. I have been on the key search in diet for the last two years also. My own recent discoveries have help me enormously, with arthritis related pain and a variety of other conditions. I spend 1000 baht per month on 1 L of flaxseed oil and that's all the 'medication' I take. It's also delicious.

British families are sending elderly relatives with dementia overseas to Thailand in a small but growing trend. Researchers visiting private care homes in Chiang Mai have found eight homes where guests from the UK are living thousands of miles away from their families, because suitable care in their home country was impossible to find or afford. Thailand already has a long history of medical tourism and it’s now setting itself up as an international hub for dementia care. His getting well by giving the Thai lady helps for informing her about the waters & understanding adjustments are so great. He and she are getting well by following the ways she's going to follow his way as a thanks for taking care of him too.

With time the burden of care will become heavier. Pen’s experience, skill, and compassion will allow her to MANAGE the care very efficiently. Pen should have part-time helpers who will learn from her and assist her. It will take a team to care for an elderly with cognitive issue, else Pen may be burned out, her health may be affected and the quality of her care may decline.

I retired her to Thaland 8 years ago with my Thai wife (of 50+ yrs) after her diagnosis of alztheimer/dementia. She has been in a demenyai hospital now almost 4 years in BKK. Costs all inclusive of consumables is 20000 a month, INCLUDING - 24hr qualified care, meals. So a private carer is not really sufficient for a patient with later stages of the disease. One care cannot be with her 24/7. Not all homes in Thailand are expensive.

@@rungnapawitchayanaratip822 Sorry, but Vincent's not in a "care facility", which is what the question was about and what I was replying to.
And I'm afraid the figures you gave don't add up any more than the ones in the video did.
He can't get a retirement extension for 1,900 baht a year, even with your help, with less than an overseas income of 65k per month, which he doesn't have.
(Edit: unless he has more than 800,000 sitting in the bank here instead)
You can't have a "good diet" for only 50 baht per person per day however much cooking you do yourself, unless you have a farm and live off it.
I don't see the point in arguing about this as it simply isn't possible.
2nd edit: I think I've now understood the situation, and I honestly don't think it's in anyone's interest to go over this.

A very interesting story and great that people can be looked after with great care and compassion.. Not sure about all the trouble Vincent goes to regarding water. We have 6 large bottles of water delivered regularly, they take away the empties and obviously reuse them when they are refilled and it's very cheap.

With the water, it's all about keeping one's blood at the correct "Ph" level. I've read that the bottled water has a low (I think) Ph level and drinking too much can lower the blood Ph level, potentially leading to health issues.

That's not my experience with a non-bar girl, Thailand has the highest infidelity rate in the world. Thai women will follow their traditional role, but if a better option becomes available, they will jump ship without a second thought. So no, they are not loyal in general, always exceptions however.

67 is not really that old, I have friends in late 80's in good shape, it is all about how we take care of ourselves, not allowing others to take advantage of us, good sleep, diet, no alcohol or drugs, good relationships, avoiding stress, you can be "OLD" at age 50, and be young at age "90"

We cannot stop Dementia but we can live our days with more mindfulness. Being aware of our tasks or movements or moments will increase our attention. Attention builds up memory. That’s how we can SLOW DOWN the cognitive decline of our brain.
Ten years earlier I left my job to take care full time of my mother. In the beginning I forgot where I parked my car in the shopping center parking lot…twice in a month? I told myself “That’s unacceptable!” So I always made note of where I park, especially in the vast parking lots with no signs marking. Since then, for almost 10 years, I may be walking around looking for my car ONCE or TWICE. I even survived unscathed by the parking garage of the SF Airport. I label the practice “the one million dollar question” meaning i would lose a million dollars if i cannot answer the Where question.
My current training is to minimize the trips to the garage to pick up a stored item or to do something and forget what I’m there for. At my age (73) once a month blank out would be acceptable but once a day is very worrisome. My sister declared that she’s a U-Turn expert because she kept forgetting the Freeway exit. I traveled abroad at least twice a year to keep my mind alert. I scored an A+ after biking around Kyoto without getting lost (of course with my Google Map and pocket WỪiiI 😛) I start to memorize the various districts and neighborhoods in Chiangmai in preparation for my 2025 trip.
I was taught that the Base upon which our consciousness arises is a Material factor. So I feed and stimulate and motivate and soothe and challenge this brain of mind so I could remember who I am for a long, long time to come. But most of all, first I have to be mindful where I put my phone. A small daily act but a great resistance against my mental decline. 🍁🙏🍁
