Another effect of the Emperor dying and Terra being Exterminatused would be that Mars and *the Mechanicum* would be in charge of the Imperium. With the Adeptus Mechanicus being let off the leash it would have a profound effect on Human culture.. and possibly technology. But they would definitely run the show differently. As well the Inquisition may well be nerfed, depending on how dependent they were on Terra as their powerbase and for their facilities. It would be a completely different Imperium.
Why would it change how they view technology? Plus with the Astronomica gone there ain't much warp travel happening so no actual way to control anything beyond a few light years
@@gargoyles9999 With Terra going to hell right next door Mars would have to pull out all the stops, which means releasing all that tech they've been hoarding to pull their asses out of the fire.
Going purely with your theory about the Golden Throne being the tool the Emperor was using to open the WebWay, the idea that it was an Old One item makes sense. The Golden throne could have been an abandoned WebWay generator, left behind and forgotten during the War in Heaven.
On the topic of contingency plans, don't forget the Grey Knights have something called the Terminus Decree that only the supreme grandmaster can access
hold up, who suggested letting *DARK ELDAAR* into the throneroom to modify the golden throne?! i feel like black templars would spawn from the ground with chainblades ready at the mention of the idea, let alone it almost happening.
I mean... there's a character called "The Firenzii polymath" from ancient earth, who was known to have designs of engineering bordering on the impossible. The Cavea Ferrum for example was an extrapolation from some incomplete designs Pert and Magnus probably found, and we see something similar to it on the Eldar world at the heart of The Eye of Terror. Maybe this Firenzii polymath was in dialogue with Eldar engineers, and designed much of his work based on this influence.
With the league of votann introduced to the setting, they might have technology from the dark age of technology to fix the throne. The eldar might also, depending on whether the golden throne is human technology that is.
I had a thought, if a thousand sykers could hold it closed for a few hours, what if they used like a million at once? Sure if would require a lot of effort on the Imperial’s part. But if they could give the Emperor a week to regenerate he might get back to 100%
But that would require the Imperium to build up a massive stockpile of psykers, which are not only rare but also extremely dangerous when in large numbers.
Deep within the Himalaysian Mountain range, unfathomable fathoms below the Imperial Palace proper, the internment chamber of The Golden Throne has been undisturbed for millennia. Yet now, there is heard the thunder of power armored boots upon the vast corridor stone and the great doors are pulled open from without. A contingency of Custodes marching fore and aft of a single figure, armored in blue and white, taller still than the Gold clad warrior attendants... The Avenging Son has come to speak with his Father, if he can. From within the oddly melodious humming of the chamber, The EMPEROR looks up from an issue of Rogue Auto Trader, slightly annoyed and immediately, convincingly, feins unconsciousness...
The fact Big E was using it to access, override and alter the Webway says to me that it was originally either an Old Ones device, or a replica of one. The Eldar only took over the Webway, so it makes sense something of, or aping their creators tech would have more control over it than they do.
The Necrons had "God-killing" weapons that they destroyed after killing most of the C'tan. The human... galactic flashlight is not the most powerful. I raise you, the galactic Orery.
If you think about it the golden throne is also a pretty cool and powerful executing chair, I wonder what would happen if you put a really important Tyranids on it
I think a cool video would be one describing the Web Way in more detail. Like my first vision of it was a big sterile tube with an all white background. But from some lore I have read it is alot more complex.
"I don't think GW is just going to be like 'All right guys, we've made enough money. Let's kill the Emperor and end the setting!'" *Has horrible flashbacks of Warhammer Fantasy End Times*
In the book, it was heavillllly implied that many alien races were responsible for the deeper parts of the device. However, the very core is not recognized as being Aeldari; and much more organic, unknowable and older. So my money is that the very core is Old One, as the Webway is technically an invention of the Old Ones. While psykers are fully the ones to power the Astronomican; if I'm not mistaken in the second book of the series Vaults of Terra: The Hollow Mountain, the actual mountain that has the Astronomican has a chamber filled with psykers who are the ones that sing to it and power it. And the Astronomican is described in the book as being located quite a distance away from the Sanctum Imperialis. Meanwhile the actual chamber of the Imperial Dungeon itself, the Throneroom, is lined with pods to genuinely drain the life energy out of psykers to continually top up the Emperor's power. It seems the Emperor only has unlimited willpower, not unlimited power.
This reminds me of a cool story about a a number of extremely skilled tech marines brought in to try and fix the golden throne and one of them (a space wolf iron priest) accidentally discovered the imperial truth and ends up kinda destabilizing the imperium by building technology- ie terminator suits without the crux terminatus, or functioning paragon blades. Branded a heretic but far too useful to remove he may end up being the imperiums only hope.
So just one question, You said the Dark Eldar are interested in helping to repair the golden throne, Why? The Dark Eldar helping without a massive poisonous cancer filled caveat covered in rusty spikes, sandpaper and chilli powder is something I struggle to believe.
Perhaps there was a deal for a steady and hefty supply of humans to torture in exchange of help. Hell even offers of aid to stave of Slaneesh or help them with some particular enemy.
The Haemonculi are known for taking a piece of someone soul in exchange for services, so yeah taking a piece of the Emperor's soul would be the best thing ever for them.
Might have something to do with the Emperor being one of the few beings capable of going toe to toe with the Chaos Gods, and the Dark Eldar still want Slaaneesh dead. Vect is also really old, and he is losing the ability to maintain his life. He has the most to gain from a fixed golden throne since Slaanesh almost has a firm grasp of his soul and it won't be long before it is yanked out of him and consumed.
I'm pretty sure one of the Dark Eldar described the throne as the worst psychic torture device ever constructed. I'm guessing they want in on causing that ceaseless agony.
Essentially they were interested in cloning "enough" of the emperor whilst repairing the golden throne as some form of protection against the constant demon incursions in Commorragh. (As well as a few star-systems-worth of humans to be freely preyed upon IIRC.)
Could the Imperium theoretically hire some Blood Axe Ork mechboyz and have them fix the throne? Assuming they didn’t betray the Imperium the second they were finished and da boyz BELIEVED that what they were making would revive The Emperor then would it work?
Only in that psykers power the Golden Throne and the Astronomicon. They actually just stand around and essentially 'sing' as a psychic choir until their bodies give out. The original lore for Psyk-Out Grenades was that they were made from the "waste product of the Emperor" as he sits on the Golden Throne. Lovely image, that.
Oh, has that changed? I played 1st through 4th ed and it was clear psykers were implanted and drained of their psychic energy in order to keep the emperor alive and to keep the astronomicon going. The sacrifice of thousands to keep the billions alive.
Would it be possible for you do a video, or series of videos on the story thus far since Guilliman's return? Or could you do a video going over the books that go over this section of the story in order? I'm finding it difficult to find a guide to a chronological order of the books following the return of Guilliman.
You see it's quit simple, "thrones" are one of the two primary forms of currency in the imperil. And based off of the fact that this is actually a fantasy setting masquerading as a scifi, we can assume that gold is the second most valuable underneath the illusive platinum. The other primary form of currency are known as "credits," I can't find any lore on the conversion rates but - (what's that? --------------------- Oh, oh you mean the actual throne that the emperor sits on. I was way off.)
9:00 people always said the 1000 psychic people are scarified to the emperor. I swear you might as said that also I never released it was scarified to the astronomicon
Can someone find me the TRUTHFUL description of the Emporer? It was an account a Sister of Silence gave while he was alive, on the Golden throne, during the seige of Terra.
I think if the Golden Throne completely failed now, it wouldn't have that big of an effect. Sure the Guiding Light would stop for a brief moment, however now that Big E is free from his actual body he would have full reign to just bring down his full power. I think the Golden Throne is actually preventing Big E was doing anything hence when the Great Rift opened and Big E could pull more of his power he beat the shit out of Nurgle and lit his garden on aflame with his Holy Fire. I think the Dark Eldar only want to help fix the Golden Throne is because they know what/who Big E really is or rather what he has become and that the Golden Throne is the only thing keeping him from accessing his full power due to his physical body still being alive for the moment. I think the moment the Golden Throne fails and his physical body finally is given the chance to properly die. The whole galaxy will feel the birth of a new Warp God, born of Human Faith and Love. This will be more powerful then all the Chaos Gods combined. As Love and Faith are two of the strongest things in existence. The Sister of Battle make Miracles happen with their fervent belief in Big E. just imagine what they will be able to do once Big E has fully realized his true form. At least this is the theory I subscribe to as it just makes too much sense. Big E would then be able to snap the webway closed properly and then click start the Golden beacon again. The entire Sol System would be this huge burning Golden Light. I also think we would finally see Chaos undivided as they would now have to work together to even hold a candle to Big E. Big E would also probably not fall under the same pretense as the 4 Chaos Gods being able to freely manifest himself in real space or just exist in real space. As we know the Daemon King who damn near beat Tzeentch when he was at his most power. The same power that the other 3 Chaos Gods had to come together in order to shatter his Crystal Staff, as if they didn't Tzeentch would be the most powerful and could smack each of them around without trying. Big E would probably not be a God of Chaos but a God of Order. His Golden Might burning away Chaos. I can just imagine Him ascending into full Godhood and all 4 Chaos Gods in unison have a cold shiver go down their spines, because for the first time in their very, very, very long existence. They will now know what fear is. I also think that once Big E does Ascend to full Godhood, Magnus and whom ever feel any sort of remorse for their actions would be cleansed of the Daemon taint and brought back to how they were prior. This mainly being since he created them and know them inside and out on a genetic level, plus now he has the power of a God to back his knowledge. This would be the ultimate slap in the face of Chaos. He would called them the Redeemers as he has cleansed them and fully remove the Influence Chaos has put on them. I think Lorgar would be the first to get the Holy Cleansing. I think he would be the first due to Big E now being a god and Lorgar being technically right. He would seek him out show him what a he has become and offer his son a chance at redemption by cleansing his soul. If accepted Lorgar and the Word Bearers would be reformed and rebranded into something wholly new. This would also give us a chance to see Lorgar be realized for what he was truly intended for. Well I think that is enough gibber jabber about theories from me haha Great video as always Lord Kitten.

Still waiting for majorkill's iterations of imperial knights/eldar titans/tau suits

Honestly idk what it is about this video but I love this one a lot, it seems like Major has filled this video to the brim with knowledge and made it super interesting! If you did something different this time keep it up if not then damn you are just that good!
I feel like there was less jokes than normal with more lore dumps in place of them.
Plus with the Astronomica gone there ain't much warp travel happening so no actual way to control anything beyond a few light years
@@gargoyles9999 Warp navigation computers exist but have been suppressed by the navigators. Where is the navigators' center of power? On Terra.
The Carrion Throne series covers Dark Eldar + Humanity deal, pretty interesting shit
a video about what society controlled by the different factions of chaos would be interesting
A Slaanesh society would be never ending orgies, bdsm, torture, drugs, and edm music at full volume blaring at all times

Nah, my man is faster than the webway’s reactions 😂
You know the eldar web way is kind of like space bridges from transformers but less versatile.
Silent king: really bro in front of my planet destroyer map
With the league of votann introduced to the setting, they might have technology from the dark age of technology to fix the throne. The eldar might also, depending on whether the golden throne is human technology that is.
The opening "Hello guys and girl" makes me chuckle every time.
If the Emperor ascends, the irony of the ultimate atheist being God would be delicious (Points if you know that reference)
The Eldar call the Throne a “soul engine”, but to my knowledge exactly what that means has yet to be revealed.
You should cover the Sabbat worlds crusades
Or atleast the characters in that saga
Arch is planning a series on it
@@ivanvoronov3871 I like to hear it from majorkill. plus didn’t you see the majorkill video about the arch person?
I think it would be cool if the sacrificed psykers became some of the emperor's Chaos entity servants, like the legion of the damned and the angels.
I can't believe you didn't mention The Dark Glass or the fact that navigators tried to sabotage the web way project.
Keep up the good work man my favorite part of the day is watching you in the morning when I'm at work
The fact Big E was using it to access, override and alter the Webway says to me that it was originally either an Old Ones device, or a replica of one.
If Henry Cavill was gonna play a space marine, it should be Cypher.
If you think about it the golden throne is also a pretty cool and powerful executing chair, I wonder what would happen if you put a really important Tyranids on it
The most powerful device of humanity is the text to speech device.
0:15 I didn't know Palpatine's throne on Exegol was part of the Warhammer 40k Universe...
Ah yes the best gaming chair.
I think a cool video would be one describing the Web Way in more detail. Like my first vision of it was a big sterile tube with an all white background. But from some lore I have read it is alot more complex.
Great video! Any shot you could do a video or two on a couple of legions recruitment and trials? Always interested me.
Part two of Erda.

The Emperor does not need the Throne to do his duty. The Throne needs the Emperor to function.
I still think that the Emperor coming back to flesh and blood and now having to contend with his chaotic manifestation would be interesting.
Majorkill: "Being ugly is a choice".

Huh i just imagine the emperor just playing fight for a few thousand years then gets bored and starts playing cards with them
This reminds me of a cool story about a a number of extremely skilled tech marines brought in to try and fix the golden throne and one of them (a space wolf iron priest) accidentally discovered the imperial truth and ends up kinda destabilizing the imperium by building technology- ie terminator suits without the crux terminatus, or functioning paragon blades.
Love the idea of something keeping us all alive slowly breaking beyond repair.

Zoltan looking at the Throne … "yeh we could fix that, but it'll cost ya".
Custodes: do you take not being Exterminatisd into dust as payment?
Question 1: Can the Dark elder repair the golden throne?
Answer: Yes
Question 2: Why would they want to repair it?
Answer: Unknown.

Could the Imperium theoretically hire some Blood Axe Ork mechboyz and have them fix the throne? Assuming they didn’t betray the Imperium the second they were finished and da boyz BELIEVED that what they were making would revive The Emperor then would it work?
Artefacts/treasures of Vulkan update and speculation on what they could be would be pretty cool ngl.
I would love it if the dark eldar fixed the golden throne with no strings attached. It would have so many delicious implications.
It will be them admitting that they are fucked without humanity left to raid, like a parasite is fucked without suitable host
I remember old lore giving me the impression that the psykers WERE basically being fed to the emperor
If only big e told magnus just to call the sigilite if he got a busy signal.

You see it's quit simple, "thrones" are one of the two primary forms of currency in the imperil. And based off of the fact that this is actually a fantasy setting masquerading as a scifi, we can assume that gold is the second most valuable underneath the illusive platinum. The other primary form of currency are known as "credits," I can't find any lore on the conversion rates but -

I was gonna finish my hardstyle Zyzz playlist, but when I see a new video on the God Emperor.
Well I think that is enough gibber jabber about theories from me haha
Great video as always Lord Kitten.
