5972 Olton Hall/Hogwarts Castle heading home

With the news that 4920 Dumbleton Hall is now going to be part of a new Harry Potter tour attraction in Japan which opens next year rather than be restored for mainline use in the UK or placed in Leavesden to allow 5972 Olton Hall to be returned to Carnforth and overhauled for a mainline comeback. It's now looking very unlikely that we'll get to see a sight like this again where we see 5972 in action as what hall could take it's place in Watford since 4920's now been exported possibly permanently to Japan.☹
I mean I am a fan of the Harry Potter series myself but I think it's a bit too much buying an engine which could have been restored to run again, then take off numerous items to reduce it's weight and then after a refresh exported from Southampton Docks to Japan. Surely it would have been cheaper and better to build a fake replica like they have in America rather than use a real engine.
Here's a lookback video showing 5972 in Preston when the engine was on it's way back home to Carnforth from Tyseley on 7th July 2014 after attending Tyseley Loco Works open weekend.

We didn't at first as we thought it had been purchased by West Coast Railways and was gonna either be given a refresh and sent to the studio tour in London so that 5972 could be returned to the mainline following an overhaul OR overhauled for a mainline return while 5972 remained on display. why they didnt want a fake replica making I dont know as it's a loss to British preservation in the UK.

I'm sure 4920 is going to be very popular in Japan, owing to the sheer amount of railfans there, but it's a shame it went before it could be fully restored - its long-term lease to WB means that until it returns home to the UK (if that will even happen), it's unlikely that it will be restored to working condition, as the railway infrastructure in Japan is quite different to that of the UK.

Olton Hall isn't going to Japan, her sister Dumbleton is. Olton will be overhauled at Carnforth apparantly.

Until they can get another engine to take it's place it Watford 5972 wont be leaving there, the plan had been to have 4920 take it's place but those sneaky sods at Warner Bros bought the engine for export to another of their parks in Japan. Excluding 4942 Maindy Hall which is now 2999 Lady of Legend & 4920 Dumbleton Hall which is now in Japan there's only 8 left and it's unlikely that any of the owning groups will be prepared to offer their locos for static display & 4965 although in storage has the wrong type of tender.

I’ve heard that Dumbleton Hall is only there Temporarily on loan for another 8 or 9 years and she’s hopefully then return home

The same thing was said about 5972 when it went to Watford for a claimed 10 year loan agreement starting in 2014 but nothing has been said on if the agreement is going to expire this year as the 10 years will be up this year or if it's going to be returned to Carnforth. As for 4920 going to Japan it would've been cheaper to make a replica than send over a real engine for static display, either that or have had 4920 take 5972's place in Watford.
Unless some genuine proof can be found on if it will return to British soil after 10 years in Japan then we can't guarantee that it will even happen.

A disgrace that 4920 is being exported to Japan as it could have taken 5972's place on the mainline or taken 5972's place at Leavesden after being given a freshen up.
