My country helicopter mechanics were amazed when they asked the Russian on what special grease to be used on various components to be greased in the Russianhelicopter. As usual with western aircaft. Specific grease for Specific components. They were dumbfounded when the Russian specialist told them, just ordinary grease will do.😮😮😮 The Russian specialist explained, the helicopter is designed for War and where to find specialised grease during war time? Ordinary grease will be just fine on Russian military helicopters.😅😅😅

Great start to the video. I really like the detail you were showing and the pre flight checked you were guiding us through as you went around. I must add from one fellow pilot to another. It’s a real shame you did not show the start sequence, as it just cuts to rotors spinning and engines already started. May I suggest the title of the video is altered as the reason I clicked was to see the start sequence. Thank you though and I look forward to seeing the start of the magnificent machine in the future on your channel perhaps. Kind regards. TheSocialPilot 🤟
What was the nozzle ported to the exterior through the hatch he undid when checking the air filter? Is that too attach an external motor to start an engine?
I thought we were going to see the engine starting process as per the thumb nail :-(
Yep me too. Shame.
Yeah, me three. Just preflight then running. I was hoping to watch the engines starting. 👎🏻
It's a secret

They use the same grease on their refrigerators and they use their refrigerator chips in their missiles hahahahahaha.

toppest secret
Impressive. I have no better word.
It’s a beast. Man has created amazing things… it can be one of them😅
It is the world LARGEST and MOST POWERFUL helicopter ever produced
Spectacular.
Everything is done manually, and for a moment I thought they would also rotate the blades manually while flying.

Did you leave out the hand cranking starting of the engines? 🙂
I love everything that flies!
Soviets got the most perfect performance out of much simple straightforward technologies, starting from vehicles upto space travels.
Almost the largest. The monster MI-12 makes this look like a Mini Cooper.
Excellent, j'adore 🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺
Great helicopter, great to se flying!
Hydraulic ramps? Pass.
I would love to modernize this thing for single pilot operation and turn it into my house...
Maşallah.. Uçan kale.. Kaba, fakat sağlam ve fonksiyonel.. Klasik Rus teknolojisi
Closing that ramp was brutal. Yikes.

Marvel of Russian engineering.
Russian ingenuity beautiful piece of engineering
If it was American the cost would be 100 times higher than this Russian helicopter
This thing is wild!!! I figured the largest helicopter was the Chinook.

Be ready to take off next week, because that's how long it would take to close the cargo doors😂
Awesome video! 😊At 4:48 see how huge is this helicopter.🙄 To be honest the biggest helicopter was the Mil V-12 ...but those were just 2 protoyps.
Bin gespannt wann der im msfs2020 drin ist
Right as I started to watch this video a helicopter flew nearby in my suburban neighborhood.
My god how we have progressed from that! It must of taken two days to do the pre flight checks 😂🤣🤣

sollte das Video heissen!
Den Start sieht man ja leider nicht 😣
Einfach nur klasse super
I must give credit pilot milion moving parts. Lots of guts to take it to the air.
The title is 'starting the world's largest helicopter'; it's too bad we did not actually see it start.😮.
We saw every detail apart from the engines actually starting 🤦♂️
Nice helicopter. Does it fly? Show us.
Wenn das der Manosakis aus Peterslahr sieht.... 😂

A video about starting that helicopter without showing the actual start. Hmmmm

Why u skip the starting engine
At 6.35 the guy wants to latch open a panel with a screw driver because he forgot one screw
