I bought a Handi quilter sweet 16 used and never had any lessons with it I'm glad that I can come on here and find some thank you for doing so it's really made it a big Improvement for me
Thank goodness for Vicky's clear teaching style just as it should be approached. I so wish Handiquilter hadn't felt the need to re-invent the wheel at the moment. When I want to learn anything I go back to these videos for clear help rather than the "new style".
Hi Vicki! Good to see you on You Tube. I took classes from you all long ago - around the same time as you filmed this. Hope you are well. Love HandiQuilter. Wish I could still take classes. Maybe, one day.
Love your tutorials. The only suggestion or change would be can you show a detailed video on how to load the quilt for ruler work. It looks like it is not on the top pole as it would normally be?
Barbara, We recommend using whatever thread you want on in the bobbin. It is best if it matches or blends with the top of the quilt because it is the color you will see through the hole left by the needle.
The diamonds are created when you stitch the markings which are on an angle. There is not a template. Follow her instructions to mark your fabric, and the crosshatch with diamonds will just happen.
Watching this video for my wife cause she wants to do this . You might want to if you haven't already pointed out not to put your thumb on the edge of the rulers as not to smash it with that needle nut .

this is an awesome video. it answers all the questions I had and gave me great ideas about what to do with my brand new long arm machine.
Fantastic educator
Thank you!
Are there instructions for the sampler you are doing? It looks like a great ruler practice piece.
It is a great video. With the monofilament thread, what do you use in the bobbin?
Thank you,
Barbara

Where do you purchase the ruler base.
How do you know where to number to make the diamonds? Is there a template?
