I purchased this lens to be part of my edc, with my xt50. I have the 23mm 1.4 as well, but I hope they release a 23mm 1.7 with the same form factor as the 56mm because I will buy that as well.
Thanks for another great review! I found a used 56mm for $120 (only a month old) and a 75mm for $360. Both are on Marketplace, and I’m torn between them-price is a big factor for me. Do you think the 75mm is worth the extra cost?
I’ve used Viltrox lenses before and loved them, but TTArtisan’s 56mm has been catching my attention. People say it’s sharper wide open and just as fast for portraits. Need help deciding!
How well does this lens create background blur (bokeh)? Additionally, could you provide insights on its low-light performance? I'm also interested in understanding how the autofocus performs specifically for capturing moving subjects in photography, not videography.
Spent the last few hours trying to figure out this vs the 1.4 viltrox that someone is selling locally for almost same price. The size of this one is tempting to try
I just got this lens this weekend and love it but I’m struggling without the aperture ring. What settings do you recommend to just make the aperture auto instead of switching my dials all around just to use it?
I have the Viltrox 56mm f/1.4 quite for a while now but not really happy with it wide open in terms of sharpness and especially CA. Did you have the opportunity to use it in the past? If so, how would you compare it to the new f/1.7?
I haven’t used the f1.4 before.. so I can’t really say. But those lenses were made before Viltrox became Viltrox today. I think they were still figuring things out.
hi I have both, and I purchased the 1.7 after watching quite a few comparison videos, including one I think by richard wong. I am sure they are equally sharp, the 1.7 has better ca and flare resistance.
@@Iamtongue thanks mate! Thinking of that 50 f2 for the size+quality & pairing it with the Viltrox 27 pro which I love. Loved your review of the viltrox 75 pro but not sure I’ll have enough room to work with it
Great video young Mustang! Hey who cares about sharpness? The world is NOT sharp! The best photos ever taken are in the border of the circle of confusion! 🫡 Great video! Find and try a Canon, (just in case, I don’t use Canon. The Gov gives us Hasselblads and the occasional Nikon). I have Fuji and Sony!
@@IamtongueYoung Mustang, this old man has a question. Since I returned and updated my Adobe softwares I have encountered a weird issue. After I post process my photos (and input my metadata preset), then I export my photos into my drives. But then when I right click my photos and click on properties, then detail at the very bottom under the file section it states everyone as the owner! WTF!!!! This never happened to me before, we are baffled here! We use our metadata editing software but it’s a pain going one by one when we have already done a metadata profile at Adobe software! Are you having the same issue? We use Lightroom Classic! It happens on windows and mac! Let me know what do you find in your end!
@@Iamtongue no problem we removed everything about Adobe, eeeeeeverything from the computers and reload it and now it’s fine! I guess it was a bug. They didn’t noticed that, I have to come from hell to sit on my desk and find that crap in less than an hour from my return 🤦🏻♂️
I bought it as well because of its weight, love using it in street photography, love the compression
same here!

a 23mm F1.7 would be great!

Been waiting for this!
:)
Nice video. Been hesitating between the TTArtisan 56/1.8 and this one.
both are good man, i think i'd go with the viltrox since its more compact.
Bro this lens is legit!!! Love it - my wife took it from me, but that's okay!
Hahah thank god im the only photographer in the household xD
The lens fits my budget more 😊 I’m picking one up thanks for the video! 🙏
Let’s go!

Amazing lens.i used it for a while with fuji xt5.very sharp and acceptable price....

Dude! You gotta get white or light colored bucket hat to REFLECT THE HEAT. BLACK ABSORBS AND DISTRIBUTES HEAT.
This is me being a cool kid again and wanting ot get black hahah
Awesome thanks for the review.
Thanks for watching!
This is a great video! So many people review lenses and don’t even post photos.
Is your video recorded with that x100?
yes the b-roll of me in the forest taking photos is captured on the x100vi
Bro let me know if you’re ever in LA and need bts! Great video
If i ever make my way back to the west coast for sure!
@@Iamtongue what! I could’ve sworn those shots were in san diego lol. Where are you based?
@@Eyeofkamau haha I’m based in Portugal 😃

Please test the Meike 55 1.4 as well, the thing also has an aperture ring
Sure thing 🙏

Not sure what the F1.4 viltrox is like, but i think this one is relaly good....

Nah, switch aperture on the front dial accordingly...

Thank you both for your replies. Yes, it's true. I also own the 27 and 75mm, it's a whole different league.
You still on Algarve? Great video bro
Yes I am!
Make a video of Ttartisans 56mm 1.8
I have a review on it.
Test lens new fuji 16-50 mm f2.8-4.8 ?
if i can get one in my hands , no problem...
Do you use a film sim or shoot raw and Lightroom
when I am lazy - Recipe, when I want to be creative - raw
I have the viltrox 27 & 75 but the size of this is tempting me😭
NGL the size surprised me a good amount. :o
this lens or the fuji 50mm f2?
this one is hard because i really love the 50mm f2. Its highly underrated.
