I have a friend in a wheelchair and I never see his wheelchair. I only see him. He's a great friend, has a big smile, and he knows some pretty good jokes. I could never use the word disabled because that's not a person's description. Like those who use Epileptics. That's not even a WORD to describe someone. That's just describing our type of seizure. Labels don't define us and shouldn't be the first thing people see. Btw, I like the guy in the background at 7:31
true, but the thing that bugs me are those who use that word as a...bullet...you know? Like using it to make someone feel horrible. there are worse labels out there for everyone. It's about time people start learning and understanding what everything is.
34nicoli I would have never ever called a disabled person disabled to insult them or make them feel sad. But this learning and understanding started when I got to know someone who was disabled. Until then I couldn't approach a disabled person because I didn't know how to do it right. Now I know but a million other people don't know it. That's why I like that show.
