I hope you liked this basic ATC tutorial for Expert Server! It's not meant to be perfect (I have minor mistakes with the 'flight following' part), just good enough I hope for a beginner Grade 3. This time I've edited using Premiere Rush CC on my iPad since it has many more title options than iMovie.

Just FYI, if the tower controller told you to change frequency and he didn't specify one, just don't tune into any frequency or tune into the nearest UNICOM frequency, if the tower controller switches you to a specific frequency, check-in OR request flight following, not both.
So if he says to change frequency, but did not specify which, should I just tune out of all frequencies or do I stay on that frequency until further notice? If I switch to no frequency, will I still get controller notifications to tell me to go into their frequency?
@@GoldblasterblazeYou probably already figured this out in 2 years but for people watching this vid now and seeing this comment now, yes. You should just “tune out” or set your self as “away” basically just leaving the frequency into nothing until you reach your destination or when you are given an on guard warning by ATC (told to come to a specific frequency). As an IFATC myself I notice a lot of people misunderstand this so yeah. Make sure to do as i have said above guys and welcome to the expert server!

You dont have to contact APPR on departure unless tower specifically instructs you to contact them. If it is just a frequency change and Departure Freq isnt active, you continue. When you tune into Center, you dont have to request flight following. A check-in is enough.

Heads up, if you're checking in IFR, you don't need to request flight following. Flight following is a VFR service, which checking in IFR means we have already looked over your flight plan and approved you to keep following it.
Also vfr is used only in general aviation aircrafts, isn’t it ? Like Cessna etc. But i still cannot understand what is the difference for VFR aircrafts with flight plan and without FPL requestion FLight Following?

@@PocketInfinite Question, when you tune into the center Unicom, you check in, press “proceed via WPT,” then do you request freq change or do you just tune out without letting them know?

I had to take a call right when i tuned into approach, and wasnt able to reply for 30 seconds, after which i got a message to check the ATC guide haha (which is useful advice anyways)
When you check in with departure or approach after takeoff I think you don’t need to also request flight following.

Hey Aron sorry the discord server is currently under lockdown due to a recent raid. We will reopen it soon. I usually use iMovie on Mac though I used adobe premiere for iPad for this video
I recently started playing Training server, doing a Flight I entered to Lisbon airspace and the atc asked me to tune into Lisbon Tower, but I tried to tune in in the Airport info part and i can’t did it, how I can tune into it?

Nice video, But sometimes there are idiots in training server where the clear to land and then they say you are in a active airspace please contact tower and that thing makes me angry sometimes.

Really nice video, I always hated how before people just spam ready for takeoff to tower, when they aren’t first in line. Great video, also have you tried using live cockpit, I already mastered using live cockpit for smooth landing.
I’ve tried using the live cockpit through I can’t seem to take off with it as well as the HUD so I don’t use it much

Wait, I ask for parking before crossing the holding short line...is it that big of a deal to ask AFTER crossing?
Not really but in my test to join IFGA they made a deal of requesting parking AFTER you cross the hold short line. So for normal flying I don’t think it matters but some VAs might make it a big deal.

You should check out the Infinite Flight Community community.infiniteflight.com there you can check the weekly ATC schedule on the expert server which will tell you the busiest airports for each day

Aviation James it means that ATC can open any airport within the given region (Central and South America). I can assure you that Bogotá would be open though

Sorry I should’ve made that clear in this video. When contacting approach you shouldn’t “check in” because they’re impatient so go straight to requesting vectors, etc.
