- In today's episode, we'll talk about how European cities are lit up at night. Public lighting 💡 has been a big topic in recent years, not only in discussions between experts (astronomers, chronobiologists, environmentalists...), but also between residents of cities, towns and villages with the relevant authorities and ministries.
The replacement of street lamps, and mostly orange 🟠 sodium lamps with LED white lights, disrupts the circadian rhythm not only for us but also for wild species (fauna 🐝and flora 🌳). So let's see what it looks like in cities like Bratislava, Ljubljana, Milan and Zurich. It's almost unbelievable, judge for yourself 👆🏻
Do you think Prague is still doing well? 🤔Do you have your own experience with white light disturbing you at night? There is a solution, and we have positive examples here in the video.
If this issue appeals to you and you would like to be of help yourself, or you are dealing with replacing orange sodium lamps with LED white lights in your neighbourhood, visit www.bilesvetlo.cz/. There you will find complaint documents that can be sent to the relevant authorities, and there will soon be the opportunity to become part of the civic association Light into Darkness, which will give you much more legal power as an individual to promote lighting that reduces the negative impact on nature and people.

Perfektní trip a info. 🥰
Záslužná práce taková videa. Respekt.
Great analysis, thank you for sharing.
Super děkuji
Obdivuju vaše nasazení a trpělivost, s jakou vše vysvětlujete.
