These planting tips are super helpful! I tried them, but my garden still looks like it’s on vacation. How do your plants turn out after following these techniques?
@Patricia .. A Kenyan here who has never heard of this thing... recently, my niece brought us one... told us to plant... am waiting to see what becomes of it.. I have no clue how it's prepared or even how it tastes...
You can cook it with apples, or garlic & butter. It will mimic whatever u cook it with. U can also bake it, fry it. Very yummy steamed, add a little salt & butter, thats my fav.
Have you tried the young plant, till flowering ? the root portion when the plant dies after the season?? just try, we can eat all parts from young plant , vege and root.Try them.
Agree! The tendrils ,flowers and young leaves are really good but the root bulb is the tastiest. The chayote can be cut into thin slivers and sun dried too so it has a longer shelf life
Actually I always planting sayote,I can't imagine that have possible to plant in a small part of space,,thank you for sharing your video like this,,❤😘😘😘👍

Many years ago, my mother threw a dry chayote to our backyard, without doing anything, like watering ir fertilizing, it grew up and it has so many chayotes, that was impossible to eat them all. This is a strong plant.

Wow ...so inspiring.thank you sir for sharing.may I know the nutrient management that you applied.i am planning to imitate what you have done and apply it in our school
Good video, but still missing the most important part: how long after transplanting them we have to wait to see the expected result? one week, a month. This information would help a lot.
Usually transplant when temp is above 40 degrees. Fruits grows on tertiary vines. Flowering appears when temp is between 70-80 degrees. Thus in oregon, usually will harvest continuously from august to late October. Hope this helps.
@ Jennifer E Decourcey - in the video, @ 60 days - tiny fruits have formed; @ 75 days - bigger fruits (you may start harvesting, while the spikes are still very soft (if you have the spiky variety); @85 days - he started picking the fruits). Hopefully, this helps.
Hola para germinar uso arena y el agua puedes usar purin de ortiga o bien humus mezclado en un poco de agua o té de banano, filtras y lo puedes usar como agua de riego y así te brota más rápido.
why Potassium is important in plants: - Potassium regulates the opening and closing of stomata thus regulating the uptake of CO2 thus enhancing photosynthesis. - It triggers activation of important biochemical enzymes for the generation of Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP). ATP provides energy for other chemical and physiological processes such as excretion of waste materials in plants. - It plays a role in osmoregulation of water and other salts in plant tissues and cells. - Potassium also facilitates protein and starch synthesis in plants. - It activates enzymes responsible for specific functions.

Awesome! What is in the soil mix?
Cara tanam nya praktis ya kak
Muy bien lo veo desde veracruz México 🇲🇽
What month do you start planting? Do I need to initially protect it from rain?
Great Wonderful Job 👌👍😍
Kereeen mas bro, tankyou saya mau tanam di pot
Can you share what are those you mixing with the soil? And what is the ratio? Thank you.
rice husk, it said there on the video.
I think you can replace that with perlite. Its purpose is just to keep the soil not packing together
The mixture shows on the upper right hand corner
Pwede po ba tumubo ang sayote sa kapatagan ?From Bulacan po ako thanks po
muy bueno cuando se planta en los llanos
Awesome! Would like to ask, what soil do you combine and the fertilizer? am starting to make this.... no experience at all.😃
ua-cam.com/video/iQ3v3nHo_Zo/v-deo.html
At 3:10 minutes, upper right hand corner, tells you rice husk (acts as mulch), organic fertilizer like sheep, cow manure.
Thank you for sharing this video.

I am failing every year planting chayote. It’s seems to be easy but I don’t know what am I doing wrong 😢

Keep feeding and wetting you will start to see full results in about 60-65 days.. months.
Thank you, this is so inspiring❤
