Hahah my neighbour in Magdeburg Germany Mr. Lee has given this plant as a seedling to me today. I will grow that in my Garden and try those fruits a shown here. Very good!!! Thank you. Mr. Lee Sounds Chinese but my Mr. Lee is from Vietnam.

Interesting! I eat chayote all the time and hadn't thought about growing them. I'll have to do a little research and see if it might do well on my back fence.

Voltei ao meu tempo de criança quando meu pai plantou um pé de chuchu que mais tarde ficou carregado devido uma simpatia, ele colocou no pé do chuchu sapatos velhos de couro, dizia que era pra dar muito chuchu e com certeza o pé ficou repleto de frutos.

In Jamaica we call it Cho-Cho

Chayote is easy to grow but it likes altitudes of 800-1000 ft. It will grow at 600 ft as well. However, at sea level, chayote makes more vine and less fruit. It fruits in cooler weather and the vine shrinks in size in warmer weather. I just throw the fruit at the fence and forget about it. It does not need to be watered until the root emerges and goes into the ground. The fruit provides all the water and nutrients it needs until then.
