This was great, Marie-Eve! I have a very similar mindset, but am glad to hear your ideas. It's nice to know that younger people are also interested in making their own clothes and mending or changing their pieces to give them a new life. It's so important to really use up our clothing over many years. Thank you 😊
I agree with your closing words! Perfectly said! ❤️
Thanks for this round up of your wardrobe and highlighting mending our makes. I've made a wool coat a while back and bought fabric at The Fabric Sales from Belgium. They sell deadstock (designer) fabric of really high quality and at a good price point. Hope that helps you with your search for a woollen fabric for a coat.
Thanks for the recommendation!! I will check it out 😀
The dress, before ammending, you can put the elastic to boiled water to relax elasticity. It may be enough.
I loved seeing the clothes you made and what you fixed. You might want to consider some Japanese visible mending for your pants that had holes. Thanks for the episode! You mentioned that you are in north east Italy. I wonder if you know about the Desenzano del Garda shop that sells designer remnants. It’s called Tessilandia Di Sbrini Giuliano. It is not cheap but they have the most gorgeous fabrics, including pure wool, cashmere etc fabrics for coats, as well as linen, denim and endless printed silks.
Ohh thanks for the tips! I will look into it 😀
I, too, am a "Me Maker". I was raised that way and was very interested in today's podcast. You've matched your sewing patterns with some beautiful fabrics. The dress and little white tops are so pretty! And who knew homemade jeans were even possible! They looked great. You seemed very excited about your sister coming to visit you. Hope you have a great visit with her!
Thank you 🥰
I love the grey colour sweater, if you ever want to dispose of, I will pay the postage😊
I don’t dislike the color enough to get rid of it unfortunately, I’m still very attached to this piece 😊
I enjoyed the video and it made me realize making good quality garments instead of buying cheap things is a great way to look, feel, and do better. I would also ask regarding the white blouse with the stain, have you tried putting it in the sun and see if that bleaches it out. I do this with antique vintage items and it works well. take care.
That’s a good idea! I will try! Thanks 😊
Hello, Marie-Eve) Good luck with your mending pile. Could you please add in the notes the name of the French fabric store where you bought your broderie anglaise fabric?
Thank you! And I just added the link in the description box :) it’s Batikou
A little off-topic, but where did you find the socks you're wearing at :32?? I'm not a fan of the ruffle trend but that scallop edge is so cute!
Good question.. I think they are either from H&M or from a random grocery store 😂
Merci de partager tes belles créations ! Oú achètes tu t’es étiquettes ? Merci.
J’achète la plupart de mes étiquettes dans des magasins de tissus en ligne lorsque j'achète du tissu! La plupart sont de la marque Kylie and the Machine :)
