This lady should be recognized for her drive to save the history of Cincinnati. I love how she shines when discussing the architecture and the eye for details they had back in the day! Thank you guys for ALL YOU DO AND GOD BLESS 🙏❤️✌️

Some clarification of the Longworth family referred to in this program- The photo shown was of the original Nicholas Longworth who came to Cincinnati in the frontier days, worked as a lawyer, became very wealthy investing extensively in real estate. Eden Park was originally land Longworth’s used for his vineyard he called the Garden of Eden. After Nicholas death , Joseph Longworth , his son made the land available to the city which acquired it (1870s) to build the water system reservoir. Nicholas Longworth lll , great grandson of the patriarch was a protege of William Howard Taft, congressman from Cincinnati, husband of Alice Roosevelt, and was elected Speaker of the House in the 1920s. The Longworth congressional office building in Washington DC is named after him.

There are so many amazing buildings around Eden Park. I lived in an amazing building during the year I was in Cincinnati, and I don't know if I'll be able to find that level of quality anywhere else.

What an amazing building. Would have been awesome to restore it as it was. But just happy that it was saved and converted into apartments. Thank you for a great video

Someone posted a photo on Facebook before it was restored and when it was abandoned. Windows boarded up, porches falling down. It was a real mess.

Where we live, all of our motorists are incessantly stopping everywhere and blocking traffic. It's a nightmare.

OMG, antique windows from quite long ago, the 1970s 😅

Loved the UA-cam video. Thanks for sharing.
In high school for a photography class, I took several photos of the mansion. I'll try to add the photo here.
    Loved all the design elements.
Guess I've always loved architectural history.
I did some research on it a few years... gathering fodder for a possible middle grade (or possibly YA) novel.

I saw your photo on FB. When was that taken?

Either 1977 or 1978 I tried to post the picture here (even posting the link to the fb picture) but it didn't work or wouldn't stay. Husband asked if I had taken other pictures of the Manor. I'm a packrat so I would check. @@historyinyourownbackyard2363

And I have to laugh. During that day I took photographs around the city, I also took pictures in the cemetery across from Lunken Airport and at St. Vincent de Sales church. Talk about exploring.

We are gonna need trains to and from everywhere for most of us to be able to afford to stop and see awesome places. And to have something to spend when we get there. Too bad we dismantled so much rail. Cars are polluting and only becoming more expensive.

The railings shouldn’t be white, but the same brownish red (stripe) that’s on the roof. 👍🏼
