This does'nt sound bad at all , it's live the sound track is digitally enhanced with synthesisers, so you can't compare the two , for a school band this is outstanding.Well Done.
I love how people are all like 'it wasn't that good' ... Unless your Hans Zimmer I don't think you should judge them badly. They look like Highschool students.. pretty good for Highschool.
at times I appreciate the slowness and how unique this rendition of hans zimmer's piece are, but at other times it feels sluggish and doesn't deliver the same "oomph" at key moments.
The tempo is way to slow. This director seems to be going for more of a "Regal" interpretation instead of the slightly quicker tempo that leans more toward a degree of anxiety, a feeling that something is about to happen! The kids did a fine job!
I love the selection. The performance was respectable, but it could have been better. There were some wrong notes, and the articulations could have been better at times, especially in the brass. I know the OST was partially synthetic, but still. If I were playing this piece as a brass player, knowing how the original sounded, I would approach that as a challenge and try to emulate that sound as best I could.
beautifully played, but a bit too technical. what I missed most was the emotion I felt when watching the movie and feeling the relief in almost losing your life, but just making it.
Or like at 2:50 when Gene Hackman walks off into the sunset with his dog while Denzel grins. And then the credits close us out. It's that "cool guys don't look at explosions" feel that it's missing.
This band needed lots of help with percussion and brass. Percussion was off tempo and the brass was cracking notes. Also what was the conductor even doing? Looked like he was singing a totally different song in his head than Roll Tide. Other than that, this peice is really great when played well.
Trombones, STAGGER YOUR BREATHING! Those gaps are sloppy, come on now! Meantime, your percussion needs some cleanup, and your horns need to watch those high notes. If you can't play them, leave them to the section heads that Can. Also, when the chorus kicks in, it feels like it's dropping out. The drama should be boosting here, not sinking. Let us FEEL that it's exciting, damnit!
Teen concert bands need to be able to Learn. That's what criticism is all about. If it were a full adult band, then in most cases, I'd expect they'd be unable to. In the meantime, being young does not mean you're not able to perform music well, and most importantly, it doesn't mean the director is above basic direction skills.
You may say anything you want, but for a high school orchestra to perform this well despite their numbers is a feat in and of itself

There are not any Strings in the Orchestra. And they don't have any Studio filter effects. For their abilities it is nice done.
Dude it's live and there are no strings. Don't be a dick :)
@ShamisK ...
:P It's a WIND ensemble! Lol! :D
I like this better than the original
An impressive improvisation of this was made by a young Dutch organist Gert van Hoef

The music was performed in Taiwan.
Taiwan....
THis sounds like Ennio Morricone have remade it
C'est très beau, je dirais même parfait, mais n'est-ce pas un peu trop sage, à l'image du directeur ? ;-)
C'était juste pour commenter. ;-)

Ist not possible without Studio filter-effekts and without Strings in the Orchestra.

A decent arrangement for being a small orchestra
מעולה!
i miss the heavy drums a bit, but thats mighty fine considering its not like a high end orchestra conducted by Hans himself
that terminate launche scene though
YOU should work in paris théâtres.
no coment
is this made in china?
Taiwan, actually.
You're aware of the name of this ship, aren't you Mr. Cob?
Very aware sir
It bears a proud name, doesn't it, Mr. COB?
@@hiteshdsouza9615 very proud sir!
get some strings man ))

yeah percussions ruined it
The percussionists have no sense of rythm , the rest was great
sounded vaguely soviet
Seems a bit slow.
Soviet Last parade
RTR
They play it with too much "Pep"
THis sounds like a music in a children's movie
not bad, but you have to improve it !
Crimson Tide never translates well onto a live orchestra.
‘cause a lot of it is electronic like most Zimmer scores
