Best college basketball coach in history. Period. Bum's quote applies - "he can take his'n and beat your'n, then he can take your'n and beat his'n. RIP, Coach. You'll always be one of my heroes.
@@andorfun4679How is making kids go to class and graduate self serving. There are what? maybe 20 spots available in the NBA each year for new players. He sees that and is looking out for them.
He also committed multiple assaults he was never held accountable, with IU his enabling lap dog. Never held himself accountable either. Saying "sometimes I regretted treating some kids as hard as I did" is a lame cope, especially for things like choking some, or whipping a ball as hard as you can at someone's head. Dude was a total a hole to people outside of the team as well, that had the unmitigated audacity to question him seriously about anything.
I didn't know about all he had common with the TTU President at the time. What I do know is the AD, Gerald Myers, knew Coach for 30+ years and knew to how to manage and handle him. Aside from a confrontation with the Chancellor at a supermarket, you hardly heard anything negative out of Coach Knight during his time at Lubbock. The change in scenery seemed to be exactly what he needed.
Definite respect on my part for the low-key mental toughness and positive attitude of that senior center. That’s a strong competitor and team player who gets what it’s all about with Knight as his coach, vibes off the tougher standards instead of being broken down by them.
Its funny how the PC snowflakes outside of his circle of friends/players/coaches/media despise Bob Knight for the most part and without fail make him out to be some sort of evil villain.. whilst individuals *within* his circle of friends/players/coaches/media respect and admire him for the most part and make him out to be a man who had an overwhelming net positive in their life.
Knight reminds me a lot of my farher. Thus, he inspires a lot of mixed feelings in me. Everything from admiration, to contempt, to pity. I wouldn't think that would matter to Knight or his fans, though. I'm just a stranger on the internet, after all. I will likely never be a high profile celebrity like Coach Knight, and will likely not have to deal with as many critics as he did. In the relatively anonymous life I have, though, I've gotten to where I care less what others think of me as I've gotten older. Perhaps Knight was more unaffected by the hate he got towards the end of his life, too.
Complicated man. I thought he would quit after Indiana fired him. He had far fewer problems with his personality in Lubbock, probably because it did not have the expectations that Indians had
More Coaches should have follow Coaches Knights philosophy. Best Coach ever . But in todays college rules and these are now pro players in college ( They're getting paid to play ). Bob would have done what Jay Wright did and RESIGNED before the college game becomes a JOKE - Which it now IS .

Brilliant basketball mind. RIP Coach Knight. Still has the last Undefeated Team. 💪
Bobby Knight was a character and he was funny and he won and graduated players who may have ordinarily bolted for the NBA and the money. RIP Bobby.
Wow, so he got kids to put his interests ahead of their own. What a hero /s.

Finestein never played Sports
Psychopath with a basketball
Larry Bird😊
r.i.p GO HOOSIERS!
Anger management seminar would have worked wonders with this guy. Unfortunately, Knight would have never admitted it.
Let it go
It's unbelievable how much they protected him but he was winning so thats all they cared about...too bad.
Myles Brand seems pretty gay. But, he’s dead now.
1:05 🤭💋🍑
Awful, narcissist, bully.

He is sort of like the late coach Mike Leach just not as funny.
Go melt on a sesame seed bun with your cheesy Big Bird take.
