@@Siren1000T1 Most 5M's don't have vented covers, if you see a blower that's vented it's most likely a 4M and there's no other remaining or existing active 6M left active in the state of Michigan. The last 6M unit to be in active service would be in Madison Heights.
I wish I could make it there, I was originally going to go to this siren but then I forgot and was gonna go somewhere else until I just found out today after the test I was supposed to go to Redford. My parents refused to take me down there because I was up north and well, nothing went up here so that's great huh. Anyways I'm glad this thing works again, Very Nice Video!
@@petresch they don’t because this is in Wayne County. It’s in between both counties but where this thunderbolt is located is more towards Wayne County and the system isn’t supposed to follow on Oakland County’s schedule, they should be going by Wayne County which is all year round.
The brushes are wearing it off, same thing is happening to the thunderbolt now removed in Lansing that’s at the Harley Franks Early Childhood place. Bearings are apart of this too but not as bad. It’s doing better though after receiving more and more maintenance every few months sometimes almost monthly so.
I'm not sure. I know firefighter Chris changed the chopper level setting but I've also noticed that every time when the blower fires up, the relief valve pops up slightly allowing some air to escape out instead of fully pressurizing (which could explain why the pitch sounds higher) but I can't be certain of that.
Epic! That 5M sounds nice.
I was hoping that was a 5M cause it sounded like one. I couldn't take the cover off to see to be sure but the sound it makes has to be 5M.
Yeah, it sure sounds like a 5M

@@Siren1000T1 100% a 5M. Also the last active 5M in the Detroit area
@@fandude2246 and I just sat on the blower while running. Awesome.
Still wailing away after all these years. Nice video Dan.
Awesome Video Dan! This thunderbolt sounds awesome!

What do you mean “working again?” Was it broken at some point?
@@sheagoff6009 had a reversed wired blower. Also had an air leak
I always liked the thunderbolt sirens
Me too.
Awesome video Dan! Sounds healthy, hot and spicy!! That Thunderbolt's test was a success!!!
I like your Chanel it is the best
The closest bolt from me. I was at the east Redford bolt during this. I did not even know Northville was going to test today. Nice video btw.
that makes my skin crawl..
Nice video👍
I saw this thing on Wednesday when I was down in Detroit/Redford taking pictures of their sirens
This is the City. Not the township.
Yeah I probably should've said that.
@@Siren1000T1 Testing is also seasonal. They are supposed to follow Oakland county schedule - March through November.

Hey Dan can I borrow your video that you filmed the Plymouth Township Fire Department Thunderbolt1000T on February 2nd 2008
And wow, 5M's can be pretty raspy as well.
Chopper motor is wearing out. Can't say it's the brushes though, the pitch would be all over the place, not slowly decreasing

Wow that bolt is Spicy!
I can hardly hear the Livonia sirens.
It’s sounds kinda sick sounds like a brush issue
I was thinking the same thing too. Despite the pitch dropping, it didn't sound like it was fluctuating.
Pitch wavers a little but that’s probably form the cold weather. Other than that it sounds amazing!
Why does it sound weird

What time does Albion test?
First Saturday in April at noon. But they never actually test
@@fandude2246 oh ok
It goes on Michigans SWA - Statewide Tornado Drill. 4th Wednesday of March every year before First Saturday week.
