Heya. I simply made a couple of wooden circles that were just a few millimetres narrower than the outer diameter of the ring. They had a stepped in section that was a fraction smaller diameter of the inner hole of the ring so that when I put the ring between them there was some of the wood sitting inside the ring hole holding it in place
I'm trying to get ideas on how to do this DIY. Your method is straight forward. I like that. Unfortunately I don't have access to machinery you showed us. So I'm a bit disapointed. Bur not much.
Check out the video "7 Ways to Make Stuff from Recycled Plastic" by Brothers Make, it shows a couple of different ways to melt down plastic without using any large machinery.
melting PP or LDPE can be dangerous. HDPE is one of the only plastics that has a low melting point and hard to burn, therefore doesn't emit toxic fumes
Hi Trina, I am in the process of making a new batch of rings. You will be able to buy them via my website - www.upcycler.com.au. You can follow me on facebook facebook.com/UpcyclerSimon for updates on when they are available.
I found your video very interesting and I love the end product. It's a beautiful result from something so many people throw away. Are you in Australia ? And do you sell your rings ?
Thanks Allison. I am in Australia (Lismore, NSW). I am not selling the rings online at this stage. I need to get accurate sizes before I can do that. I wouldn't want to sell you a ring that doesn't fit.
@@UpcyclerSimon I thought you were an Aussie. I'm at Burringbar, on the way to Murwillumbah. My sister and her partner live near Kyogle and both work in Lismore. We're practically neighbours !!

Very cool rings.
Congratulations very beautiful
You’ve got some pretty cool friends 😂
Hello! I was wondering what material the thing you fastened the ring on the drill press is? And how you got it to stay fastened?

@@adiidi I have seen their videos. I've started to save bottle tops and rings.
Love this! Do you know if this can be done with the other plastics, like "PP" or "LDPE"? Cheers :)

Do you sell these online?
Unfortunately I don't. The rings are just too unique in size/colour/thickness so be able to sell online
