John Deere Tackles Deep Snow!

- Nix Snowblowing utilizes their John Deere 5R and Cyclone 92" inverted snowblower to blow some deep snow. The combo works well as 115 horse power is excessive on a 92" snowblower. I decided not to use the wings while clearing this driveway as it took some concentration to keep snow off the city sidewalk when blowing this amount of snow!

Nice to finally watch a video that shows how they work in deep snow. Thanks for the video
Beautiful, finally a no nonsense inverted snowblower doing what it does: clearing driveways🙂
have you ever had a snow where the 4066 and an inverted weren't able to make it up to the garage? ever had a snowfall where this one couldn't make it up to the garage and had to get a conventional blower.
Have you tried it in real deep snow yet? Like a 3' high bank from the plow with 18" of snow in the driveway. I guess, as long as the tractor doesn't get high-centered, it should go.
Where's the deep snow? This looks like 4 inches.
The chute on those blower are so nervous its time consuming to aim because you have to correct many time
great machine do they ever break on you a lot ?
I work for someone that's been in the snow industry 30+ years, he swears by the john deere 30 series with the 24 speed power quad transmission. Have 1 5090R have been told its a shop queen. He has the least confidence in that machine. People tend to forget even if these tractors were made for bailing and silage, that more complexity is not always a good thing. There is a good balance to strike for the relation between electronics and mechanics.
and do a review in the interior
c'est cool les tracteurs
any issues with the ag tires? you seem like the kind of guy that would have no issue swapping them out if you saw a benefit or a need.
Funny you say that, one of the big tractors is getting snows very shortly. They are t bad on the big tractors, they’re just not great. I’ll be sure to make a vid on it once we know the difference.
Fuckin brutallllll😂 i would get fired if i left a sidewalk like that, common bruh
Yes that was brutal! A company showing how to snowblow a driveway and they fill in the sidewalks!!!?? I've been doing residential snow clearing for almost 20 seasons now (Kubota M100x with cyclone inverted blower) and the main rules are watch for sidewalks, don't leave any mess on the streets don't blow snow near fire hydrants or electrical boxes and those pesky lamp posts owners put halfway down their lawn! Also if the snow isn't wet and heavy you don't need to blast the snow with high rpm's because then it's harder to control the snow and you make a mess like the douche in the video!😂 Here in Ottawa, the city will fine you if they see you doing that! This is probably Nix's training video! Lol. SMH 🚜.
Homeowner cleaned the sidewalk off only for you to cover it back up. lol
who cleans up the sidewalks?
nocoolname32 the city of course. They did just give us a lot of hassle over that haha.
I would take a front mount every day of the week. I do not even need one with a back drag feature, if the operator just pauses a couple seconds at the end of a pass to let the blower clear the snow that's in the auger not much snow is left. When I plowed with a straight blade I could nearly touch peoples garage so there is almost no snow left, I could do the same with a standard blower. A standard blower is less costly, higher reliability because of less complexity, and easier to operate
lol a 170k machine to do driveways. Just a tad of overkill there.
Not when it makes the money that it does. 200 driveways in 4 hours is nothing to scoff at. I have a mentor with 80 of these machines. I can assure you it’s not overkill for his bottom line.
@@nickbohner9261 good point! I meant size wise she's a monster, and expensive to maintain. That beast can do so much, its funny to watch it as a driveway machine.
@@nickbohner9261 Could not do the same amount of driveways with the 4series?
@@elvisisalive2716 fair enough. Yes I have 7 4066rs. They’re excellent for tighter routes and new operator. Their downfall is that they slow down in larger storms, are less comfortable to drive, and don’t have the fast road speed so they become inefficient on routes that aren’t one driveway after the next.
@@nickbohner9261 I have my eye on a 5100E to clear a logging road, guess I'll have to multi task this big rig for some residential use lol. Problem is, once the old guys get in it I'll never get it back lol. You are correct about comfort and speed, but she's a pretty penny!
hahahaha!!!!! Your name is BOHNER
hahahahhahahahahahahahhahhahha
meh...
I live in Central New York State. That is a few hundred miles from "the city" and see the title "John Deere tackles deep snow". I do more snow than that with my Craftsman lawn tractor PLOW and my walk behind snow blower. Sorry but your "deep snow" just don't cut it. Our deep snow, I say with the utmost regret, is what your city plow left in the end of your drive. I would love to be able to claim 4 or 6 inches is "a deep big snow storm". I sincerely regret that many times our "threatened" snow forecast is often projected in feet. Sigh!!!!!!!!!!!!! If I could afford it I would rather read about our snow storms in the Miami Herald than watch it. However enjoy you luck!
You are aware density is a factor too? This is eastern Ontario, snow is heavy, retains moisture and is wet. It may not be the same volume but could definitely retain more mass. I'd like to see what the density is like in New York.
Oh yeah? Well I have more snow than you have ever seen and I use a spoon to plow it. We measure it in cubits and use wind power to remove it. We're way tougher than you too. PLOWS are for wussies.
Ziemlich sinnfreie Konstruktion. Warum erst platt fahren? Mach das Ding an die Front, wo es hingehört.
would never own a snow blower on the back of a tractor. think they are stupid.
A little bit over kill, I like it lol 😆
