I found Keitel running after them one of the most heartbreaking parts of the movie. His character really develops a bond with them. It only seems more and more apparent with each viewing of the film for me. But the Jimmy scene was sad as well. Just one more straw added to the camel's back, sealing their fate.

This movie is an all time favorite of mine. What a great story. It felt sort of empowering for me as a woman, giving a message that you can step out of your shoes if they don't fit well. You have to love these two women who played the main characters, and they did a great job, BUT when Susan Sarandon says, "because it was us it ended up being something more significant", I have to disagree. A great story is a great story. The director, Ridley Scott, is no slouch either. Would it have been a different movie if two different actresses filled the lead roles? Maybe a bit in the flavor of it, but the strong message and story would still be there, and Ridley Scott would still be directing it with his interpretation. I don't think they made it any more "significant".

This movie was filmed in dead horse state park. They couldn’t get permits for Grand Canyon to shoot scene. It is right out of canyonlands national park. I highly recommend this state park. If u go to visitor center they will point to u the way to see where it was filmed find the y in the canyon look to your right and up above u can see it
