The dog sleeps in the garage then is alone outside. Fenna will calm down if she is regularly included with the family bc then seeing everyone won't be such a huge deal for her. Training her is great but the constant isolation is not.
Agree. The poor dog sleeping in the garage where carbon monoxide builds up not to mention the cold and the heat. He deserves to be a part of the family Hopefully they have realized that he deserves lots of love and to be included in the family and home. Not isolated
I love that you guys are taking care of the dog but please be careful with the dog sleeping in the garage. With no airflow and the hot heat the garage can get way hotter than it even is outside and could be very dangerous for the dog.....makes me worried. Otherwise I love you guys!

Just a little tip, drinking ice water in the morning will wake you up just as well if not better than a cold shower. Your internal organs respond to the increased circulation from cold water better than your skin does. Save yourself the discomfort lol
I agree. Been an ice cold water drinker for a decade or so and enjoy a cup of coffee on a rare occasion because I love the taste. I also wet a facecloth with very cold water to wash my face before I jump in the shower. Works great!
At least you guys are together all day long. I only see my hubby 3 hours a day. He works so far, we just moved, we had no choice. So just the fact you guys see each other in the morning is such a blessing, the fact that you guys can see each other during the day period is a blessing. A good tip for the cold showering thing is just turning the cold on at the end, so you can still have a comfortable shower but when you're going to get out, you get that refreshing hit.

I LOVED law school...granted, I graduated in 1996 so I didn’t have to deal with a pandemic, but I loved learning and the Socratic method of learning. I HATED the bar exams (I took Missouri and Illinois) and since laptops weren't allowed when I did the bar exams, my writing hand was swollen and sore for days after the essay portions.

Jill, I hate to be critical but I'm so concerned about Fenna sleeping in the garage. That poor baby was an orphan when you met her and she'll feel so much more secure sleeping near her family. Couldn't you put her crate in your bedroom or in the boys' bedroom with a nice soft bed inside? Maybe leave the crate door open so she can sleep in the crate voluntarily?

Yes!! The 1ST time Derrick called Fenna to come eat outside, I noticed when she got to the her food,, she didn’t start eating. Instead, she went right up to Derrick for attention and affection!! That came 1ST for her!!! So I do believe even though she gets attention, she really craving more interaction with them. Some people just don’t allow their dogs or cats in the house, so I guess they are of that mind. Myself, I am a total animal lover, so I have to say it does bother me some that she does not get to come into the house.
I think the dog has had trouble with peeing, but yeah, i wonder if the garage has ac? Many don’t. Maybe they can put the crate in the kitchen. Still, they are doing pretty good with learning

I couldn't study while somebody was massaging my shoulders & my scalp, because it makes me so relaxed I'm almost falling asleep. Lol. Also it is so very important for couples to spend alone time together when you Have young children. It's so easy to get caught up in just focusing on the kids, and push the marriage on back burner, then the marriage suffers.

It is so sweet how Derrick brought Jill her coffee.❤❤ Little thoughtful things like that mean a lot! Fenna is doing so great with her training! Consistency is so important! It is great that you spend a good amount of time with Fenna on training and playing with the boys teaching them to be gentle with her and vice versa! They will be best friends growing up. Many families will get a high-energy dog, put it outside without training or socialization and then wonder why they bark and dig. It is like having another child. They are work! But you have to sweep the kitchen floor less; you have a built-in vacuum! If you really like lasagna, the best is Costco's beef/pork lasagna. It comes in a pack of 2 trays and it cooks in the microwave in about 25 minutes. It is delicious (much more flavorful than Stouffers). It does have some spice to it though. Give it a try if you get a chance!

I agree 100%. I wish she was a family dog and could enjoy being with her family. She was so excited to see them each time. It makes me sad for her and any animal in isolation. I'm glad they are training her and took her for a walk.

I thought this also but regarding the sleeping maybe they tried to have her sleep with them or the boys & she whined all night. I do agree that she should be in the house more ,& feed in the house not in the back patio. They could always find a separate space in the garage for the food bowls if they are low on space that's where we keep our dogs bowls.

She’s a high energy dog and needs the space to run outside. I’m sure she gets loads of attention, especially when school is out. She was in the house, she went for a walk, played with the boys. Good grief. Dogs are family but they are not people🙄
Some dogs clearly enjoy being outside with time to run and nap in peace and sunbathe. You have no idea what finna enjoys or why she's outside some of the time. Also there is nothing wrong with dogs being outside.

LOTS of evidence based stats on the benefits of cold showers. I personally couldn't do it, but well done for you taking a stab at it! Most people who do it hate it for the three minutes but it does boost immunity.
I couldn’t imagine leaving my dog outside all day and in a kennel in the garage all night but I guess it’s better than the shelter 🤷♀️ Also, alone time will be plenty when you’re kids are grown and out and you’ll miss it like crazy. I’ve been married 24 years now. My kids are adults and I am With hubby 24/7 and yeah it’s great. Sometimes. Most of the time. Hahaha it’s good.
Many shelters put dogs that don’t get adopted down. Lots of things say crates are good. It gives security. It could have been inside and outside in the day.

The dog is well cared for and I like that they are training the dog. I also prefer dogs outside. They have a warm dry place for the dog to sleep as well.
@@margenn3889 I never said the dog wasn't well cared for. It's just that humans have unfortunately bred dogs over thousands of years to see humans as part of their pack. They are pack animals and thus need to be around humans. I personally wouldn't have a dog around young kids at all, but if I did, he wouldn't be outside.

Cayden is 8 and picks peaches off the neighbors tree. The man there is a teacher at the school and he’s nice. He lets him pick them. The deers and squirrels eat the little peaches anyways lol.
Kids get so happy to see. Mommy look a fruit on a tree or tomato 🍅. Like calm down. They seem to grab them before they are ripe. Then you gotta put them in the window until they are lol.
Derrick i don't think you should wash hair in cold shower. Just cope with the cold water, breathe, feel, and enjoy the warmth when you get out. That is how you get the benefits. If you're shampooing you're thinking of something else and not relaxing. I think you should face the water, and use your arms and hands to help cope with the cold, and to feel the water and touch your face, chest as necessary and make verbal sounds as you cope.
I was a little shocked that Israel isn’t homeschooled but then again good for Jill for changing things up and doing things her own way
They showed him being enrolled in Kindergarten last year and answered questions about it in a Q&A. I love the strength Jill has to make her own way.

Cold shower activates the vagus nerve. It's actually very healthy for the body.
Unfortunately very cold water is not the best for the stomach, plus cold showers are way more effective in waking you up in my opinion.

If you really like lasagna, the best is Costco's beef/pork lasagna. It comes in a pack of 2 trays and it cooks in the microwave in about 25 minutes. It is delicious (much more flavorful than Stouffers). It does have some spice to it though. Give it a try if you get a chance!

I like everything about this family except the dog sleeping in the garage and then being outside all day. He should be with the boys in their room or somewhere in the house. Those four legged family members are usually better than the two legged ones. Catch my drift?
I agree 100%. I wish she was a family dog and could enjoy being with her family. She was so excited to see them each time. It makes me sad for her and any animal in isolation. I'm glad they are training her and took her for a walk.

I thought this also but regarding the sleeping maybe they tried to have her sleep with them or the boys & she whined all night. I do agree that she should be in the house more ,& feed in the house not in the back patio. They could always find a separate space in the garage for the food bowls if they are low on space that's where we keep our dogs bowls.

Do you guys just leave the dog outside all day every day even though you are home? Odd. Most people would have the dog in with them as they are pack animals and you are their pack.
I had such a hard time seeing them spend very little time with the dog inside :(
I too had a hard time about the dog not being with them inside. They're just as much a part of the family as anyone else.
She’s a high energy dog and needs the space to run outside. I’m sure she gets loads of attention, especially when school is out. She was in the house, she went for a walk, played with the boys. Good grief. Dogs are family but they are not people🙄
Some dogs clearly enjoy being outside with time to run and nap in peace and sunbathe. You have no idea what finna enjoys or why she's outside some of the time. Also there is nothing wrong with dogs being outside.
@@AlliyahPerry No issue with the dog being outside. It's being outside alone when they are all home in the house. Seems odd. She's part of the family. And she sleeps alone in the garage too. Odd.
LOTS of evidence based stats on the benefits of cold showers. I personally couldn't do it, but well done for you taking a stab at it! Most people who do it hate it for the three minutes but it does boost immunity.

Also, alone time will be plenty when you’re kids are grown and out and you’ll miss it like crazy. I’ve been married 24 years now. My kids are adults and I am With hubby 24/7 and yeah it’s great. Sometimes. Most of the time. Hahaha it’s good.
Many shelters put dogs that don’t get adopted down. Lots of things say crates are good. It gives security. It could have been inside and outside in the day.

The dog is well cared for and I like that they are training the dog. I also prefer dogs outside. They have a warm dry place for the dog to sleep as well.
@@margenn3889 I never said the dog wasn't well cared for. It's just that humans have unfortunately bred dogs over thousands of years to see humans as part of their pack. They are pack animals and thus need to be around humans. I personally wouldn't have a dog around young kids at all, but if I did, he wouldn't be outside.

Cayden is 8 and picks peaches off the neighbors tree. The man there is a teacher at the school and he’s nice. He lets him pick them. The deers and squirrels eat the little peaches anyways lol.

Derrick i don't think you should wash hair in cold shower. Just cope with the cold water, breathe, feel, and enjoy the warmth when you get out. That is how you get the benefits.
If you're shampooing you're thinking of something else and not relaxing.
I think you should face the water, and use your arms and hands to help cope with the cold, and to feel the water and touch your face, chest as necessary and make verbal sounds as you cope.
