- [4K] A 2-Story "Mystery Mansion" carnival-type dark ride at Adventureland amusement park in Long Island, New York. This is our first time to see a hanging floorless vehicle for a haunted mansion carnival type dark ride.

Ride filmed June 2022 at Adventureland in Long Island, New York. Adventureland amusement park is located about 38 miles east of Manhatten, NY.
I love how all the sound effects abruptly start and then cut off like someone hitting "play" and "stop" buttons.
For real
It kind of ruins the scare
Also, what a sad WASTE of the suspended-track system. No room where you're actually ABOVE the scares? No alligator pits? No spiky floors? No swamps, or graveyards full of zombie hands reaching up out of the dirt? There's so much potential for fun/spooky rooms with a suspended-track system (that wouldn't even require much more budget than what they currently spent), but it feels like they didn't even try.
Came to make this same comment. The track is amazing but it could easily be a standard, floor track dark ride with how they used it. At one point I was like...and? Why is this a flying track? Especially with that awesome outside bit. Disappointing for sure.
Yeah like the Peter Pan ride at Disney world… above cool stuff… not a flat boring floor
It appears to be a seasonal dark ride. Cheap and easy to change for whatever holiday you want to represent. Roll-out floor matting might help with the atmosphere you are trying to portray.
Looks like a cool Ride to go on !!
@@hollykrecek375 Also came here to say the same. Baffled
Definitely seems like they blew the budget on the ride system and construction, which looks very fun and awesome, and cut corners on theming.
Yeah, I got the vibe a lot of the jumpscares were just motion activated decorations from a spirit Halloween, or stuff like that
My thoughts exactly
They did more than cut corners, they straight annihilated them lol.
Looks like this is where Spirit Halloween clearance items go!
🤣 you couldn't be more right!!! It was hard to watch...it was that bad.
I was just thinking that! Why go here when you can visit these animatronics at Spirit for free?
Track system is beautiful, the scares seem fairly generic though.
Party City, anyone?
It is like someone bought out a Spirit Halloween store and put it in a ride.
@@DrewFu319 I thought I heard a familiar laugh from that commercial and the end of Michael Jackson's "Thriller".
@@phroobar h
@@phroobar That's kind of been Adventureland's vibe for all of it's surprisingly long existence. I would swear they built this new ride system and attraction, and just moved all the old mannequin's and effects from the old one. At this stage I'm not sure if this sort of low rent Carny ride vibe is a deliberate attempt at maintaining the parks cheesy theming, or that they are just really really cheap.
Would have been awesome if there was some sort of storyline, rather than just random “haunted house” scares.
Exactly
I love seeing these old fashioned dark rides
I’m 62 and these rides remind me of the small amusement parks with the dark rides that were around when I grew up
We had one great family run park near me called Whalelom Park in Leominster Massachusetts. I went as a kid,I took my own 2 kids there. Had one of the best wooden coasters around. Unfortunately it’s gone now. Condo’s now stand where it did.
My grandmother took me to that park when I was little. Miss these kind of parks.
Did you ever go to Rocky Point in RI? House of Horrors
Hugs
Wow, their local Spirit Halloween must have made a killing.
Yeah this is the first time I've seen an suspended haunted house ride too. They tried and that's awesome. I think that if they had real people and better sets, it could work for a haunt in the fall.
You should look up “Haunted Mansion Funland” it’s in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. It’s a suspended haunted house that opened in 1979. It’s great but a little cheesy now that I’m older.
You can add SO much stuff on the ground to add to it if they ever want to Upgrade the place to make it stand out over everyone else.
Dark ride! It’s got more lights on than my house at night! 😝
When you blow your budget on the track system.
Yup lol
Reminds me of “The Screamatorium of Dr. Frightmarestein” from The Simpsons. All that was missing was an old lady sat on her chair saying “beware the ravages of age.”
This is exactly what sprung to my mind!
It’s like the production half heartedly tried. They had the access to amazing roller coaster equipment but the theming supplies from a defunct Halloween store. Very lackluster for such a beautiful track system.
For such an expensive ride/track system, you would think that the attraction would have been fare more fleshed out and detailed.
The detailed flesh stuff would not be suitable for young children as it would give them nightmares.
Blew their budget on the track system?
Love a low budget half assed ghost train 😌 classic 😂
😀🙏
It is a fun ride, but would you want to ride it a second or third time? They proberbly spent a fortune on the track system and ran out of money for the effects. Too much bright light in a lot of spaces. Not really a dark ride and. some of it seems only half completed. As others have mentioned it needs a couple of actors to make it scary. Good quality video.
Ride system isn't expensive at all, standard fair ground system
its supposed to be a kids ride
@@aumorz So is the Haunted Mansion at Disney and people love it. This one is pretty substandard as either a scare ride or a story ride.
When you order Disneyland from Wish
Stfu adventure land is so good
😅
😂😂
Yup!
LOL
I love the Vincent Price laughter in beginning haha
Looks like a motorized tour of the prop warehouse for a B-movie straight to video slasher flick.
Perfect Haunted house ride for me! No real people trying to jump scare or run after you 😎
Its as if a parking garage was fitted with an attraction system..I'd love to work at a company where this system brings you to your car at arrival and departure for the days work.
This would’ve been terrifying to a 5 yo me…
In the beginning of the ride, you hear Vincent Price’s laugh from the ending of Thriller
i love these suspended ghost trains they add so much more fear cause you’re so exposed ive been on one at winter wonderland in london and i remember one year they had an actor grabbing your legs it was terrifying
Wow that was completely awful...I pictured it longer being two floors and all...Yikes. 🙏
It's like someone tried poorly to make a haunted house in their basement for Halloween. Epic fail.
love the design. just need to be a fully dark ride with some real scare actors and some ambient/music tracks to go with it along with touching up on the details
So cheesy I love it
Thanks For The Share, Ive Never Seen Or Even Knew They Made A Suspended Dark Ride.
The track system reminds me of the Peter Pan ride….and the overall feel/style of it is very similar to the Haunted House at Knoebels.
Except the haunted house at knoebels continuously adds/changes different parts of the ride every few years.
This ride could have potential to be as good as knoebels HH. The park just needs to see about sinking some cash into it.
** knoebels has been my home park since I was 2 (87). Shares time with Disney (I live in Florida now). I know both places inside and out so if anyone ever needs inside insight/trivia about either just ask :)
Like gliding through a spirit store!
Hahaha
At least this ride was better than the Creepshow and the haunted mansion. It had way more robots inside.
i’m not rlly a rollercoaster fan so when i go to adventureland, i usually ride this ride a few times. it’s a good ride for when you want a little scare
the only scare you prob got was paying the ticket price to get in the park lol
@@robertadlington650 not rlly i have season passes
@@strxnge.tbh this is gonna scare you alot if your like 8
You're charitable - I was gonna say two.@@magicchisel9299
Ngl this ride seems pretty adorable
You know your park made it when @Attractions360 does a video!
Not the worst I’ve seen. It has potential.
Wow what a great ghosttrain😍 10/10
The best dark ride I have seen for a long long while😮😅😊❤❤🎉🎉
Had so much potential with such a great track and ride system. What a bummer.
Awesome thought, but the decor looks like it was after thought
Hey that's Vincent Price's laugh
This is why money cant by creativity. appreciate your crazy wacky employees they have awesome ideas!
love that kind of track system ❤️

party city on halloween: the ride
Everyone's hating on it, but it seems pretty fun. Nobody expected it to be best of the best, and it wasn't. It was just a good time with pretty well made animatronics. I like it a lot, personally.
Fun to see chepe
Another new ride I haven't heard of looks good
That dog lunging out of a crate before the last turn to outside looks like an old Bill Tracey effect, similar to a dog they used to have lunging out a top window on the "Wacky Shack" Phantasmagoria at Bell's Amusement Park in Tulsa Oklahoma.
The track that they used in this ride is strangely heavy-duty for what the ride requires. I kept thinking we'd get a surprise high-thrill drop or something, but nope. Makes me wonder if they built this ride after getting a sweet deal on a bunch of surplus track sections.
Interesting concept, it seems that you're floating around.
"Okay guys! We've got an empty space and a $5,000 Spirit Halloween gift card! Make it happen!"
I love this ride
I miss the old hand built wooden haunted house "13 13 cemetery way"🎃💀👻
Wow. A suspended track with all that space! But such wasted potential. At least make it where your sight line doesn't reveal all the fright gags at once! Could be sooooo much better with a little effort. I think a previous commenter nailed it when saying the operators put all the money in the track system.
"Hay mom! Can we go into the Random Crap Thrown Around with Odd LED Lighting and Sound Clips House!!!???"
definitely looks like a carnival ride and seems like it would only be half interesting if done after it got dark outside.
It's like riding a suspended track system through a Spirit Halloween store...lol
It was surprised. There is no such attraction in Japan. If I had free times,l wanted to go there.(I also want that in the Tokyo Disney sea.)
Monster House from Playcenter in Brazil featured a very similar ride… 45 years ago.
I want that big Tarantula spider over my bed
Thanks for the video, sure I would ride the thing but it looks like a halfway done mock-up for a Disney ride.
That’s so impressive that they put this up quickly. Love rides! Wish it was a little scarier though.
this just looks like a another universal Hollywood horror nights thing
THIS WILL NEVER BE 1313 CEMETERY WAY 💔
Was expecting a fast descend back to the first floor, but instead it was an anticlimactic crawl to the finish.
I’ve literally had nightmares of this exact same setting but the puppets inside would come alive after me
2:18 cool! the phantom's boat!
My husband and I would like that ride!
It looks like a spirit halloween threw-up on this ride and said "Yep... this will do"
Love it!!!
Ngl this is pretty cool for a fair ride if it is
i like when you hear the guy say i told you not to come is freddy kruger still in this manison
I’ve been on this ride!
I love the track
Hey I remembered that one from an episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark 1:54
I think if I owned something like this, I would make it pitch black, get a few fairly cheap projectors and a few musion/peppers ghost screens, and trigger the projector as each car went past. Then you could have some pretty convincing holograms for cheap!
That was a complete let down. If you can afford a track system like this then you can afford to put some actual scares into the ride. What are you thinking with such tacky crap? If you're looking to lose money this is the way to do it.
I am completely baked and I felt like I went on the ride
Tackiest thing I've ever seen.
It is so empty inside, you can see the gaps between one thing to another. Definitely this ride has to change lol
Well the tricks were nice. They were from Home Depot and Spirit Halloween. And other Halloween stores Now I know why I could not find no Halloween tricks when I went to Home Depot they all in that dark ride lol 😂
Lol 😂 I’m watching this thinking it’s not scary at all…waiting for a human dressed up in costume to do the job
Good God that was aweful. Manager: OK here is the AMEX card. Go to Spirit Halloween and buy what ever you can get and come right back. We are opening today. Employee: Uhm, OK
Would work very well with scarers
That looked cool
Did anyone else spot the iron throne from GoT next to the skeleton playing the organ?
Seems like this dark ride had a lot of potential but it just wasn’t put together very well.
I was actually excited about this 🤦🏾♀️.
The carriage system was the most impressive thing about this. How do you spend that much money to carry people but spend zero for the actual ride….
There’s really no benefit or point to this being a suspended ride. It doesn’t take advantage of the ride system at all. Might as well be a floor based ride.
1:46
1:41 - Hey look, it's MTG!!
Scream after scream after scream 😱
I would give this ride a score of 4.3
Halloween Decorations: The Ride
WTF?...Looks exactly like Home Depot when they put all the Halloween props out for display.
lol still the janky haunted house I remember from the 90’s 😂😂😂. Except instead of a suspension seat, they were little buggies on a track 🤣🤣🤣.
i think this used to be a different attraction, and when they took the theming out, they went to Halloween Adventure and bought the store with all those generic animatronics and theming. honestly, i would just gut it, and turn it into like an ET or Peter Pan style attraction like you are flying over a town or water or something.
I was there a couple weeks ago it is very fun i reccomend
I guess they blew the budget on the building, ride track, and the cars, and didn't have any left for the theming. Shame, this could have been something cool, but it's far from that.
