I want to believe that this is the version of Thawne if he's not obsessed of being the Flash or hating the Flash, where he found someone to protect.
think this is the Thawne from Legends being revived again for protecting the fixed point. this is probably his next mission; to fight against himself and the negative Speed and Still Forces.
Imagine this is origin story but with rewritten timeline he name reverse flash early in timeline in this timeline

@@thefoeofdrip1184 yeah but its damn awkward for a show to tell you how a character is feeling. It's lazy writing. The show could've shown how a character feels by showing the character crying or being cooped up in a room in blue lighting or whatever-they did that correctly for Caitlin. On the other hand the writers decide to reduce Cecile to a feeling meter, so they can tell us how characters feel in words. They've reduced Cecile to a narrator, telling us how each character feels. It's Ironic, that they're given wider boundaries with film to be able to show exactly how characters feel, and yet they choose to limit themselves to the boundaries of a book, using only words to tell us how a character feels.

there's definitely two Thawne's. Tom-Thawne is the same Thawne we've been seeing since season 4. Matt-Thawne is from the flashpoint timeline

If the writers want to make this good. They could have this season end off with Matt's Reverse flash helping and building trust with Team Flash. Then somehow the Negative Force turns him to the evil Reverse Flash we know. Which eventually causes an emotional twist and trust-breaking moment with Team Flash for the next season. Ending the series off by having it come full-circle to Barry and Thawne going back in time to have their fated fight where he kills Barry's Mother

If this is the legend’s of tomorrow Eobard Thawne, that means he’s a Time Remnant because Ray Palmer confirmed it in season 2. Idk the show stopped using the term “time remnants”, which is something that I’ve noticed.

Every speedster with erased timeline are time remnants. Legends Eobard become time remnant after Barry saved his mom and created flashpoint. And speedsters who travels through time for a second also becomes time remnants, because they no longer original speedster.

@@psytron939what if his destiny is to become this Thawne. Deon took him wiped his memories an placed him there to meet Meena. Deon is called the still force but also could be called the time force he can manipulate time so maybe he had some say in what happened to Thawne. The time wraiths are shown to be connected to the speed force and Deon was born from the speed force so could have connections with the wraiths. maybe he asked them or told them to do what they did to Thawne an we saw him just get grabbed by Deon maybe so he can be thrown into the events that led him to this episode or it is totally something else entirely I'm looking forward to see how this is going to play out

It would be really interesting if that happened, and the last season is all about Thawne's redemption. It would be a good way to end the series where it began.

It's pretty hard to create. Because RF created Flashpoint when he killed Nora Allen. And doing so..original Flash who created in 2020 never exist. Plus..this show never show original Flash yet.

The original thawne who turned himself into Harrison wells already says that the reason he got his speed was because he wanted to be just like the flash in the future. Matt’s thawne becoming the reverse flash would mean he has to be in the future first also this thawne is a time remnant and the timeline should already know the remnant’s fate, why save it if he was going to be the reverse flash all over again, he was saved twice.

Tom RF tries to kill Meena, Matt Thawne tries to save her, but Barry saves her (or fails to save her) instead first, causing Matt Thawne to become RF and Tom RF to get his powers back.

No it won’t end like that. It’ll end with Harrison wells reverse flash escaping, attempting to kill meena and then Barry talking down the harrison wells reverse flash. Because this show is terrible and all they ever do now is talk down the villain.

That being said, if you remember, when Tom RV explains why he hates Barry, he says that it's because Barry saved the crowd that _he_ was meant to save. His whole reason for hating Barry is because Barry stole his thunder. He's _that_ petty. So, even though a _normal person's_ reaction is to be grateful, Thawne *isn't* a normal person. As a result, I wouldn't put it past him to become jealous of Barry, if Barry were to save Meena.
Keep in mind that it is also canon that Eobard Thawne initially idolized Flash and part of what drove him to creating the negative speed force and ultimately becoming the RF was disovering that he could never be the Flash and was instead destined to become the Flash's nemesis. Perhaps, the crowd that Tom RF referred when he talked about the crowed that _he_ was "meant to save" (but was saved by Barry) is part of an attempt to woo Meena; and that is part of what makes Thawne so angry.
Another thing that just occurred to me is that upon deciding to devote a his life to becoming his opposite, to destroying the Flash, and taking on the mantle of the _Reverse Flash,_ Thawne doesn't refer to the artificially-developed source of his speed as the _Reverse_ Speed Force, after himself, as one would expect from someone as arrogant as Thawne is. He calls it the _Negative_ Speed Force. What if he calls it the NSF because that's the name he first heard used for it...from Barry.
It would actually fit the paradoxical nature of the character perfectly. We are watching the origin of the Reverse Flash and how Barry unwittingly _creates_ him, just as Thawne _intentionally_ created the Flash in season 1 with the particle accelerator. Thus, we come full circle.

Ok so theory: When Barry took thawnes speed back in Armageddon it went to the air so maybe it affected the weather and now it’s trying to find a new host
Makes sense as she did call flash avatar of the speedforce and saying that the real her was gone into the machine lighting that may be negative speedforce itself talking showing somewhat of thawne personality phasing hand and red eyes and with the negative speedforce gone to sky like the other forces were born and Armageddon it might be taking over other forces like Deon acting like thawne when betraying Barry and helping thanwe and he says we not me or I as also reflecting on Thawne personality and how long thanwse had the nagative speedforce and as he created powered by his anger and hatred becoming apart of the force ifself it may try and replace Nora speedforce and make the othe forces her. Family going back to older season style Barry and Nora alone against them Barry might lose speed might not as all forces working together lead to his current speed lvl and having maybe this thanwse get speed too even temperory and helping fight his reverse counterpart maybe changing him or merging and becoming one good guy with more power and skill or something leaving to him becoming flash museum curator and so forth

@@saminahsan477 They kind of are, they do live in symbiosis to their avatars, and have a sentient will of their own, as shown with the speed force itself. So in a way, they are.
But not like the Venom symbiote which is actually more like a parasite, it's that brock lets it feed on other things so it doesn't feed on him like those symbiotes normally would for sustenance.
In some ways this was Barry’s way of finally accepting reverse flash and forgiving him for everything he’s ever done . Almost beautiful to see them become friends for once

I think I know how they tapped into the negative speed force. When Barry severed Thawne’s connection to the negative speed force during Armageddon, and all that energy was shot up into the sky their machine connected to it

Well yeah, but maybe she hadn’t connected to the negative speed force yet. Their machine draws natural lighting from the upper atmosphere and that’s how she got her speed all this time. One day the negative speed force merged with the electricity in the atmosphere and their machine picked up on it
So pretty much the Negative Speed Force was just looking for someone to connect to

It’s cool seeing Matt Letscher back on this show and it is refreshing to see Eobard as a good guy, but the explanation as to why he’s back is still a little convoluted and confusing to me.
i mean were talking about a series where you gotta watch like 5 shows at once to get the full story they even showed clips from season 7 of legends to show thats the case dont get me wrong i like ever growing universes for stories like this as much as the next guy but if i have to watch 7 shows at once for 1 story your doing it wrong heck at least with marvel the majority of the story is in the movies and the disney plus shows just started this but there not as long as cw dc
That’s probably because it’s more of a theory than an explanation. They don’t 100% _know_ how/why this is happening, and are guessing based on out of context information (always the trouble with Speed Force & Speed Force accessories).

Wasnt the thawne in legend's erased though? He was being chased by the death black flash as thawne died and was erased at the end of s1 of the flash? Barry kep meeting past versions of him up to the version of the one in the year 2000 whenthawn kills barrys mother. That was thawne before he was erased. Yet passed versions of him still exist?
Also how is thawne back in legends and a good guy now? If thats the thawne after flashpoint. I'm confused.

I have a feeling this is leading into a Season 9 Eobard Thawne "Origin story". Origin being in quotes because it's kinda fucky with Flashpoint and Crisis both.
guys...PAY ATTENTION. watch 1:50 on. Ray Palmer literally explains that this is the Flashpoint Thawne. the Flashpoint Thawne was turned good by the timewraiths after he got erased by the Black Flash, which is the "Legends Thawne", and he still had his memories. so even if this Thawne got his memories back, he would not be evil. basically what I'm saying is, this is not an "origin story" for Thawne.
