Not that what you said happened, but it does generate an enquiry ........
Do you think a professional HGV driver in a vehicle that weighs 30 times what the car does, driving at 50mph at less than a car length from the rear of the vehicle in front, would be an appropriate response to such an event?
I don't disagree that car drivers shouldn't yank into a gap that is the HGV's braking space just to get off at a junction because they left it until the last second to get into lane 1. Still, we must appreciate that Class 1 drivers undertake more training and education than most other drivers on the road, and for good reason. Their actions are more likely to be cautious specifically because they have been trained to understand the consequences of "what happens if......" given the mass of the vehicle they are driving and how hard it is to stop.
It is true that you can always find an idiot behind the wheel, regardless of the vehicle that is being driven! 🤷🏼♂️
