RIP, Mr. Dobson. Woke up today to the news that his talent would forever be missing from my tomorrows; scenes like this are the reason why there will be a void. He excelled at portraying the “every man” because Kevin WAS the “every man”.
Continue from the previous comment... Mac gave Jason a choice to continue to get beat up or take him somewhere else. And in the end Jason made the right choice. Very,Very,POWERFUL PERFORMANCE by Kevin Dobson in this important scene.
Knots Landing was something I stayed in on Thursday nights to see. I realized then, just as I do now, this was some of the most well-written TV ever produced. The characters had flesh on them. The plots were scintillating. The scripts were true choreography without music notes. The fact that they enjoyed 14 seasons is a true testimony to the art that is Knots Landing.
Really,Really,Powerful Scene with Mac talking about the abuse he took from his father when he was a kid to Jason, and he doesn't want to see him go through the same thing to him.
You should check out Thomas Wilson Brown in The Mooring. It's on UA-cam, Netflix, Amazon and the Redbox. His performance is bone-chilling and he commands the screen!! A must see just based on his performance. How this guy isn't an A-lister is beyond me?!?!?!?!
They sure did! The season after this sucked!! I was so in love with Jason and this entire plot as a kid!! Still good today. Mack's speech was good, and the acting was on point.
I agree. The couple/characters had great potential. After this season Dallas ended and they brought all the Dallas writers over and they ruined the show.
Yes it was there fault..they asked all the secondary cast to sign long-term contracts..If I am in the secondary cast I should not have to sign a long term contract..??..XD
Now that Knots Landing is back on the air (Plex TV), this storyline is the only one I re-watch. I just fast-forward to the Mac and Jason storyline. I love how Jason is taken in while Mac struggles with his own history. And I really liked the Jason/Julie relationship. I know by season 12 and 13, Knots was struggling and the child abuse storyline was preachy at times. But for some reason I am completely drawn to it and wish there was more online about it. I loved it back then, and I do now.
@One - Do you know how I can get that poem that they had - about “counting potatoes” . . I think it had something to do with foster care etc. I had it written out - I can’t find it!!! Thanks.
He takes him away from his abused Dad's home. Mack takes him in and helps in his rehabilitation. Kevin Dobson was a salt of the earth guy and it came across in his natural acting. He was awesome.
Nice . I must say with kids like Jason its sad that after years of domestic violence . They think its almost normal to hit a kid for every little mistake . Like when Meg splilt the milk he wanted to take the blame so he gets hit instead . And Mack and Karen just laughed and did nothing 😊 Horrible that a kid is used to get hit for nonsence that he sees its no where at normal people .
RIP Kevin Dobson. This was one of the best scenes made for TV, ever.
Let's press🌹 to pay our respects to Kevin Dobson.😔
@ Dana Carter - Yes, that was very sad to hear that he had passed away.

For you, Kevin Dobson 🌹
ONE OF KNOTS LANDING GREATEST MOMENTS , FOUR STARS ****
Really,Really,Powerful Scene with Mac talking about the abuse he took from his father when he was a kid to Jason, and he doesn't want to see him go through the same thing to him.
Does your keyboard have a 'space' bar? Sheesh...
Do you need another tampon?
Rip Kevin Dobson. Great actor & scene!!
One of the BEST SCENES they ever did on this show!!
That’s quite emotional. Great scene!

This was Knots last good season. Jason & Julie had such potential, but new writers came the following year & ruined everything.

There was a poem that they read - I had it written out - trying to find it.
Anyone know it???
Rest In Peace Kevin Dobson and God bless you ❤️💐
I thought Mack's back story may have materialised during Season four's "The Block Party" episode, when his father came to visit!
Well, I think Mack (Kevin Dobson) did an AMAZING performance here!
Thanks for the upload !! This also gave some insight into Mac's behavior too .XD
I'm not sure about that one, but I'll have a look.
Glad you enjoyed this clip, pity the quality isn't great.
RIP Kevin Dobson 😢...

RIP Kevin
Agree totally.
Anyone know where I can watch season 12 of Knots Landing? I can't find it anywhere?
On TV D'antan63
Patricia, Only the first two seasons have been released on dvd of Knots Landing. I think the rest are hung up b/c of music rights or something.

Excuse me, which season and episode is That?
Is this Laura and Richard’s son “Jason”?..
Since I never watched the show, but now I am curious, I have to ask. Where did Mack take Jason?
He takes him away from his abused Dad's home. Mack takes him in and helps in his rehabilitation. Kevin Dobson was a salt of the earth guy and it came across in his natural acting. He was awesome.
Whose kid is this?
