The late 70's and the 80's were the "golden age" of nighttime TV soap operas. Dallas, Dynasty, Falcon Crest. Not to mention Knotts Landing.

The cinematography is amazing for a tv show

Joshua reaped what he sowed in the end. A life lived in violence ended in violence. Richard was terribly abusive to Laura so it makes every bit of sense for her to stand up for Cathy. Go Mack for being the real man!

Plus the Ciji factor. Cathy looked like Ciji and I am sure Laura always regretted that she didn't stop Richard from physically throwing her out of their house before she got murdered. She wasn't trying to let that happen again.

Dallas was first for a much bigger hit spinning off Knots. Don't get it twisted.

Hardly anyone watches network or cable television anymore. If they do, it’s likely through a streaming service, but it doesn’t have the same feel as watching network TV once a week.

@PaulyWally30 Memories of hit network shows and cable from yesteryear still linger on for those to remember, for something millennials of today wouldn't know a thing about nor understand.

Joshua Rush character was creepy but so great on Knots.

This nighttime "soap opera" was a cut above the rest. No other show of this ilk would have dare featured realistic scenes or character moments like this. I'm sure that Alec Baldwin attributes this series to how great an actor he turned out to be in film.

He was a really good looking young adult. I remember watching knots n Dallas in college. I was just thinking I had only seen him in a Dr.show with Shelly Hack. They would have made a power couple because both were so cute and were fairly new to the tv scene.

Come on warner brothers, officially release the remaining seasons of Knotts landing on DVD

    • @J_Ru31352

I doubt it after all this time given that the first two seasons released for DVD didn't sell too well. Mainly due to those remembering how Knots got off to such a slow start until catching fire several seasons after.

Probably bad acting and direction which changes the situation from what they intended as he was seriously violent with his wife and the villain here.
